Police can now assert her authority over the military only when the military hierarchy feels its interest is protected.

When her interest is offended, they treat the police as inferior and subvert her authority

Army is not law enforcement and shouldn't be on the streets without police oversight.

Even small Ghana knows this and deploy appropriate mechanisms in all events where army is needed on the streets

Politics / Re: We will Shut Down Nigeria — NLC Declares by Lezzlie(m): 1:42pm On Aug 29
DeLaRue:
The government needs to find a legal way to clip the wings of this NLC.

The police invited the man. No big deal. If you or you organisation has committed a crime under the law, the police can prosecute you - again, no big deal.

The NLC thinking they're bigger than the law just shows how weak the present government is.

Under Mr Buhari, ASUU went on strike for 8 months. The man did not bat an eyelid and refused to pay their salary during the 8 months. Nobody begged ASUU before they returned to work and even after going back to work, Mr Buhari still refused to pay them.

The current President generously paid 4 months out of the 8 months despite the fact that under the 'no work, no pay' rule applied by Mr Buhari, they were not entitled to the 8 months salary.

The current government has also settled the minimum wage with NLC.

Yet, every little thing, the NLC threatens to shut the country down.

Could they try this under Mr Buhari. Absolutely not.

very well nicely put.

But you're naive or complicit in this. In a jungle like Nigeria where power and authority are abused, everywhere descends to lawlessness.

Since the federal government can learn to abuse its authority by going after dissidents and union workers, Union workers too are using their own powers to frustrate the government. The centre cannot good because the FG doesn't believe in the rule of law and we challenge the police to come up with a prima facie evidence of that labour union boss complicity and I will be the first to hold him to account

After the police shamelessly buggled the office of the NLC and claimed it was a mistake and the NLC refused their explanation, they now suddenly say the NLC boss is a terrorist and criminal.

Do you people consider the fate and future of your children and unborn generation before talking like idiots?

Please I need your candid advice.

My wedding is coming up in some months and I need your advice. My fiancé and her family are insisting on court wedding which I don’t want to object to. I should have moved on but she pregnant. What can I do?
don't agree. And don't be a simp.

Court marriage is freebies to a woman in the event of divorce whether she gave birth to you or not.

So your wealth can easily go to another man in your demise

I have nukes too and I won't call you snowflake
So let us simply agree to disagree
We can both get banned if you want I guess that is the nuclear metaphor

Your choice
you're actually oxillating between a full-blown mental disease and psychological paralysis. You wrote nearly 500 word post and got same reply only to respond with " too long, sorry to hurt your ego".

Here's the question:

why would you not reading my post hurt my ego when you're inferior to the tick in a homeless dog's fur?

You are as relevant as an SMS template: nobody uses it.

Banned? You're worried about being banned? You entire self worth must be measured by your Nairaland posts.

I will destroy you if we go explicit. I will scalp you into tiny kebabs

Russia has no reason to go to war with France
Nuclear war won't go anyone's way
So this warning is sensible
Nuclear weapons are supposed to be a deterrent not a competition
That school ground thinking does not apply it is not a game of who is Macho

This is a very serious issue not a game
The context goes back decades it did not start today
Nigerian people should not take sides
But be honest and objective. That means knowing history
Here on Nairaland people want to play I am a Russia supporter or NATO supporter like it is
Manchester United versus Chelsea
Joblessness

This is exactly how they carved up Africa and brought World War 1 to Cameroon which many of you are unaware of

All they are saying is no NATO in Ukraine

Objectively they are achieving that objective

All these. Emotions won't change that
They are now fighting in Sudan and brought it to Mali
Instead of waking up
Half educated youth take sides and talk bullshit online

Tinubu has been compromised

you don't group "Nigeria people" into one umbrella over international affairs and you need to know the discipline of someone before you teach us history of Cameroon which was a German colony before world war 2 and was given to France as a punishment to Germany, same thing happened in Congo and all other German colonies across Africa. Dike us make choices on this matter based on projection of geopolitics and ideological leaning.

We know there are kids here who see this as a fan boy club. It's an ideological war and whoever prevails will have an impact on all facets of our lives. And you are not the only wise person here or unbiased as you would like to think because your ideology/political leanings are laden in your post.

It may also interest you to know that since the Russia Ukraine war broke out, Russia has been the only one using the nuclear rhetoric. And I wonder why. But I know why.

There's no difference between Russia and the West; they are all colonial and empire-hungry tools with one seeking to swallow up the other.

For the rest of the world who will have to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea, it's up to where your ideological leaning tilts to.

Russia is loosing territories big time unprecedentedly prior to Works War 2 in a conventional battle with Ukraine and she's racking up the nuclear rhetorics again and that says a lot.
