Do you know how many Americans that shot themselves monthly due to hatred?, and it doesn't mean they have no good security. Stop think with your black ass. Hate crime is a common thing in a place with different ethnic, especially in nigeria with more than 250 ethnic group.
gboss4sure:
I have always known that Nigerian security apparatus is a joke and only functional when faced with armless men and women, they cant even face their fellow armed group.

While all these killings was happening which am sure lasted for hours, from agatu to the other 9 villages, where was this famed security that buhari says biafran protester are joking with?

It's either the security people are conspiring with these invaders and terrorists, if that be the case then the last resort would be for the people to arm themselves and protect themselves. Self defense is not a crime.

Enough of the terrorist fulanis killing people in their land and destroying their livelihood in the name of cow rearing and nobody is doing anything about it.

ARM and DEFEND yourselves. Case Closed.
Politics / Re: Aregbesola Plays Basketball During Inspection Tour In Osun (Photos) by li2pac1717: 10:34pm On Mar 04, 2016
He won't be the last governor of Osun. The next governor can work on that. He has work on infrastructure in his tenure, the next governor in few years can work majorly on human development for 8 years. America is not built in a day, but for more than 200 years.
lookandlaff:

The problem with Aregbe is this: It's all well and good commissioning grand education projects but if you are not commisioning any industrial projects, if you are not attracting investors to your state, how is the state going to get the funds to maintain these school facilities, especially for a state that is struggling to pay it's workers? You commission a nice looking school but you don't pay the teachers who are expected to teach, does he think those kids are going to get a quality education? Education is not about beautiful schools, it's about the quality of the teaching. Who cares about basketball court that will become overgrown with weeds in a year because govt has no funds for maintenance or to supply new basketballs once the ines bought for commisioning and show to the media have worn out.

We need to get away from this mentality of "I built this, I commissioned that" A project that cannot be sustained is a waste of resources and I can bet you that all these schools will likely be run down and in a state of disrepair in 5-10 years. A state that cannot pay salaries will not have money to repaint schools or buy new lab equipment, or new books.

Western Nigeria pre independence was the most educated region in Nigeria due mainly to Awolowo's free education programme. If you study history, you will know that "Awolowo schools" were ridiculed initially because those schools were little more than blocks and a roof. However the quality of the teachers meant those who attented got a quality education the likes of which you'll struggle to get today, those students ended up as lawyers, engineers and doctors and led to the development of the region to the point that Awolowo's education program is a reference point for education in Africa till date. . It's not about what a building looks like but the quality of teaching. If you have money by all means build fancy looking schools but when you are struggling to pay your teachers, I doubt your students, irrespective of the type of buildings will receive any quality education while their teachers a routinely in debt because they are owed salaries.

Let's get our priorities right!!

Business / Re: CBN Claims Responsibility For Parallel Market Crash by li2pac1717: 2:58pm On Feb 26, 2016
Most of the problems you listed is not the fault of the current givernment. If you really want the solution to the problems you just listed, then you will support what the present government is doing. I know from the beginning that CBN is the cause to naira depreciation. There aim is to force Nigerians to start manufacturing. We are lazy and greedy, the government have to create a tough policy that will force us to start manufacturing. For the crude oil importation, the major problem our refineries is facing is us. Vadalism of pipelines is major problem of our refunaries. Finally, I will remind you that this a new administration. we have to give them the chance to improve the economy. Most people have started saying negative things since the inauguration of Buhari. We have to forget tribal differences and work together as a Nigerian.
Gaskia:

Your economic sense is like that of Zimbabwe who decide to print more currency notes to fight 'lack of money' without taking into consideration the inflow and outflow of values through the permeable boundaries of the economic space.

You say dollar is not our currency and should not be our business? You forget that we sell our crude to the international market in dollar and buy finished products (PMS, AGO and DPK) also in dollars. Because our government has not put our refineries in good stead or be able to create favorable environment for private investors to do so, it is our business to worry about the dollars.

Your currency is the legal tender that you can exchange for values: What is our balance of trade level? We currently import more than we export at an alarming unfavorable ratio so the Naira is struggling against the dollar by the second.

You first of all take the import / export ratio to a near equilibrium by exporting more or importing less through self sustenance (not by banning of trades because shadow economy will thrive) before you can say the dollar is not our business.

The 198 Naira exchange rate is not real, it is fixed by fiat and is not a mirror of the dynamics of market. Also the 330 exchange rate is not real, it is a product of speculation. But whose job is it to manage market perception and by extension subdue speculation?
The FEC, CBN, ministry of trade and investment, SEC, NSE and the various tiers of govt have a role to play in inspiring a consumption philosophy , but they have failed because the lack the insight and the will to do so.

Politics / Osun Election: USAID Disowns Poll Omisore Claims Puts Him Ahead Of Aregbesola by li2pac1717: 5:00am On Aug 02, 2014
The United States Agency for International
Development has disowned a poll which the Peoples
Democratic Party [PDP] says puts its candidate, Iyiola
Omisore, ahead of his All Progressives Congress [APC]
counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola.
The source of the said poll is unclear but the PDP has
in the last few days been promoting it as evidence of
Mr. Omisore’s imminent victory in the August 9
governorship election in the state.
In the purported survey, Mr. Omisore led the pack of
other contestants with 58 percent tally, followed by Mr.
Aregbesola, the incumbent governor, with 30 percent.
On Friday, Mr. Omisore’s campaign organisation
issued a statement saying the purported USAID poll
was by far more credible than the one done by Lagos-
based research firm, RMS-TNS, which puts Mr.
Aregbesola far ahead of Mr. Omisore.
“The public should note that USAID, an international
organisation operating all over the world with
unrivalled technical competence and impartial
perspective on Osun political landscape, had put
Senator Omisore ahead with 58 percent to Aregbesola’s
30 percent,” Diran Odeyemi, the campaign’s director
of media and strategy, said in the statement.
But USAID has now said it did not conduct any poll on
the Osun election.
“None of USAID Peace and Democratic Governance
Implementing Partners ( P/DG IPs) support or plan to
support any election related opinion polls in Osun,”
the USAID Democracy and Governance Team said.
The Acting Public Affairs Officer of the U.S. Consulate
in Lagos, Rhonda Watson, also said, “NO USAID poll
was taken in Osun.”
Watson and the USAID Democracy and Governance
Team were responding to an enquiry by two officials of
Mr. Aregbesola’s campaign organisation – Olusola
Adeyeye and Semiu Okanlawon – who wrote to ask
whether USAID conducted any poll on the Osun
election.
Mr. Adeyeye, a professor, had on July 30 written to the
U.S. Consulate as follows:
“My attention has been brought to the outlandish
findings of an opinion poll purportedly conducted by
the USAID.
“In my capacity as the Chairman and Director General
of the Aregbesola campaign, I am seeking to verify
whether or not the USAID conducted a poll on the
pending gubernatorial election in the State of Osun.
“If such a poll was conducted, it is only fair that its
findings be freely disseminated to all rather than what
now appears to be a clandestine circulation.
Accordingly, I am requesting an authentic copy of the
results of whatever poll was conducted by the USAID
on the pending election in Osun.
“Needless to say, the good name and reputation of the
USAID should be jealously guarded from being
shredded or damaged by certified crocodiles in the
murky waters of Nigeria’s partisan politicking.”
In a response on July 31, USAID and the U.S. Consulate
wrote back to say they did not and had no plan to
conduct any poll on the political activities in Osun
State.
The correspondences between the USAID/U.S.
Consulate and Messrs Adeyeye and Okanlawon were
released by the APC on Friday.
PREMIUM TIMES later independently verified the
authenticity of the letters. Officials at the U.S.
consulate said the documents were genuine and that
agencies of the U.S. government do not conduct polls
on elections holding in foreign countries.
“Our only interest is for the election to be fair and
credible,” the official, who preferred not to be named
because he was not authorised to speak on the matter,
said.
When PREMIUM TIMES contacted Mr Omisore’s
campaign organisation, an official insisted that USAID
released a poll that placed Mr. Omisore ahead of the
other aspirants.
“They cannot say that (they did not conduct a poll). It
was in the paper. The USAID is a credible
organization, how can they deny what they said?” Mr.
Odeyemi told PREMIUM TIMES.
Reacting to the development, the Osun state chapter of
the APC described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
in Osun State as a “band of liars” for circulating
information based on what it called a non-existent poll.
“The PDP in Osun are a band of liars who cannot be
trusted with the finances of the state,” the party said in
a statement by Kunle Oyatomi, its Director of
Publicity, Research and Strategy.
“The greatest weapon of a thief is an incredible ability
to lie without scruples. If such people as PDP liars have
access to the state treasury, they will loot it empty.

Federal financial aid? Nope International students are ineligible to apply for federal financial aid like PELL grants and loans. However, it just depends on your school. They might have something like departmental scholarship or honors scholarship (if you have a GPA ranging from 3.5 or above I guess). Not all schools have aid for international students so make sure you check their website or contact international admissions of your desired college.

Politics / Poll Predicts APC Landslide Victory In Osun by li2pac1717: 8:38pm On Aug 01, 2014
Osun - An opinion poll by TNS-RMS, the reputable
research firm, suggests incumbent Rauf Aregbesola
will retain the governorship of the Osun State during
next weekend’s polls.
It forecast the sustained domination by his All
Progressives Congress (APC) in the area.
According to the study, the incumbent governor,
Aregbesola, is the candidate of choice by Osun voters
with a 73 percent lead over other candidates.
His closest rival, Iyiola Omisore of the People’s
Democratic Party comes a distant second, polling 19
percent and his popularity suffering a 2 percent
decline from the last poll.
“The APC continues to dominate the political
landscape in Osun State judging by its performance
on all key indicators evaluated: it scored highest and
also increased in rating on first mention, sympathy,
and voting intention. The incumbent remains (the)
main voting choice. Voting choice for Senator
Omisore declined by 2 percent and seems not to pose
a threat to the incumbent’s chances of re-election as
he remains firmly ahead of the race,” TNS-RMS said
in its final report.
The firm added, “while Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is
more known than his party, Senator Iyiola Omisore
(PDP’s candidate) is less known than his party. Top-
of-mind awareness of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola
increased to 85 percent (from 79 percent), affinity
increased from 72 percent to 74 percent and chances
of being re-elected increased from 71 percent to 73
percent.
Fears of vote rigging by the PDP and alleged lack of
capacity on the part of the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a credible
poll have characterised preparations for the eagerly-
awaited poll.
