Do you have a passport? A Nigerian Passport? Congratulations!

You are one of the lucky few who have endured the torment of queuing up for hours, days, weeks and sometimes months to secure a passport for the official fee of N17,800.

If you don’t have the patience for queues and weeks of meaningless visits, paying an official as much as N40,000 will guarantee you get your passport the same day or at most, in 3 days (depending on the state).

Apparently, I thought I could “do it on my own”. I made the grievous error of paying for my passport renewal online on January 4, 2019. Here is a quick rundown of how the immigration service has frustrated my life.

January 4:

Paid for Passport renewal online (a big mistake as not paying in cash and paying through your nose means your passport renewal/procurement process can take forever).

February 19:

I went to submit my old passport at the Oyo state command, and filled some forms. I was not told a capture was needed. I was only told to come back next week.

March 1:

I went to ask about my passport. Told to come back next week.

March 4:

Visited: no booklet, no passport.

March 6:

Visited and accidentally learned I needed to be captured (it was my first renewal ever). After nearly six hours of waiting, I was captured (picture taken and biodata captured on the portal). As I would later learn, allowing them to capture me when they were already complaining about booklet scarcity was another mistake because once you are captured, you cannot cancel or transfer to another state.

March 11:

Visited: no booklet, no passport.

March 13:

Visited, no booklet, no passport. I met with several officials who advised I meet with the Comptroller. I did meet and He asked me to meet with the official in charge. He was not on seat. The very next day, someone else was occupying the same seat and He did not attend to my request. Meanwhile, a friend told me his brother secured a passport at the Oyo state command within 4 days after paying N27,000.

March 15:

Visited, no booklet, no passport.

March 20:

Visited, no booklet, no passport.

March 25:

Visited twice. On my first visit, the officer I met told me they were attending to backlogs. No time for my passport. The comptroller was on his way out, I could not meet him. I went back by 3:30pm. He told me the person in charge is not on seat, I should check back when He returns. I asked another official who told me the said official had travelled for a marriage ceremony in faraway Kano. Another official asked me the Church I attend, and advised I start praying and fasting. Another official asked me to take my grievances to Servicom. Yet another official encouraged me to take to twitter.

In between these visits, I made countless phone calls to friends, family and immigration officials asking for help. Nothing has worked.

Why do I need my passport badly?

I have been selected as one of the top 24 entrepreneurs in the world with game-changing social enterprise ideas in the GIST TECH-I competition organized by the US Department of State. My flight is booked for April 13. Hotel booked. But I have no Visa. Why? I have no passport. I have also been selected as a Mandela Washington Fellow. I also need to submit my passport by the 27th of March (for Mandela Washington fellowship) and 28th of March (to process my Bahrain Visa).

Every time I visit the Oyo state command, I take along documents, explaining how I am going to be representing Nigeria in Bahrain for GIST TECH-I and why I need my passport badly. It seems I have been speaking Greek and the immigration service has left me no choice but to cry out to Nigerians to save me.

I have a few questions for the Comptroller General and the Comptroller in Charge of Oyo State:

Why is the immigration service always running out of booklets & dealing with backlogs?

Why are immigration officials immune to deadlines & genuine emergencies?

Why must an entire command stand still because an official is not around?

Why must I need to know someone who knows someone before I can secure my passport?

Why do I need to pay 2X or 3X the official rate before I secure my passport?

Why do I need to pray and fast, trend on twitter or write a diary such as this before I get my passport?

I have deadlines looming.

I am a law abiding citizen. No criminal records.

I am travelling to make Nigeria proud.

Immigration service, give me my Passport.

Justice A.O. Otaluka of the FCT High Court, sitting in Apo on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, sentenced one Clement Joseph, a.k.a Dr Omale to 97 years prison term with no option of fine. .

He was first arraigned by EFCC on March 7, 2017, on a seven-count charge, bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N5, 600, 000.

He was sentenced to seven years imprisonment on the conspiracy charge and 15 years each on the rest of the six charges, totalling 97 years. .

The prison terms run concurrently, and he will, however, serve only 13 years, having been in custody for two years.

The convict is also make N5.6million restitution to his victim, one Bola Akintola, following a plea by the prosecuting counsel Elizabeth Alabi. .

The convict had defrauded Akintola of the said sum on the false pretence of having mystical power to deliver her from untimely death.

Yesterday, a viral reports that almost shut down the "world wide web" has it, that brahim Magu, acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), says about N1.3trillion public funds were stolen by 32 entities between 2011 and 2015.

Angry pastor, Reno Omokri, former aide to ex president Goodluck Jonathan has re-visited the web again and found the reports of Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who says the bullion vans seen at his residence on Saturday Feb 23, 2019 are not ballot papers, but money.

According to Reno, Tinubu has violated the 2011 Money Laundering Act making it illegal for individuals to make cash payments exceeding ₦5,000,000, but the EFCC has not said or done anything. He end up calling the EFCC chairman a hypocrite.

"Yesterday, i made a post accusing Success parents of being too greedy not to have accorded what belongs to Stephanie “the girl that did the recording” to her. Being that we all are sapele people, i got a call from someone who is a close associate and a family friend to success and her parents, and who also has been an integral part of the success story. He came to my place, we spoke and took me to success mother. Unknowing to me that, Stephanie Idolor whom i was also agitiating for to be compensated had done a VIDEO with a Punch Reporter Theophilus Onojoghen who is also my very good friend, complaining to the world that she hadn’t gotten any financial gratification from success parents. Narrating her ordeal, Mama Success said and i quote with whatsapp chat evidence, we have so far Given Stephanie #570,000, Stephanie only made the video to mock my daughter and myself, she wasn’t even the one that sent to instablog, it was her friend that resides in Asaba a Certain “Joyce Imofen” whom she sent it to, was the person responsible for the VIRAL VIDEO.

First, when Joyce posted the video on instagram ” Stephanie’s Friend in asaba” concerned Nigerians showed interest in supporting Little Success, and some requested Joyce account number, she gave, and the total money she received almost immediately was 70K, not knowing success parents, she called her friend, Stephanie to send her account number, which she did, she transferred the money so Steph could give it to Success mother, to her greatest Surprise, Steph Ate the money and gave success mother nothing. So, Joyce opted to speak with Sucess mother, because she had become the center of all eyes on instagram. She got the account number from her friend and established relationship with Mama Success.

Now, when Nigerians started appreciating success financially, Stephanie became angry and trouble ensued with success parents. She began to make outrageous demands that she had to ask Mama success to take her to ECO BANK BOYO ROAD, sapele where her account “Mama Success” is domiciled to go and check the account balance so they could give her her share. Sucess mother being an ignorant woman took her there and discovered that about 700K had been paid, she withdrew 400K and gave to Stephanie, reason being that, steph had said the people involved were so much and she had had to settle everyone person involved. This time, she took the 400K and didn’t give the girl “Joyce” who blew the video a KOBO.

She kept making demands, that at a point, she went to ECO BANK to demand the statment of account of mama success but the bank refused; when she discovered that the bank wouldn’t oblige, she went to mama success took her to the bank and almost forced her to open a JOINT ACCOUNT with baby Success so she could control EVERYTHING that comes therein. When this didn’t work, she granted an interview with Punch accusing Success mother of not being appreciative.

At this point, she and her sister had gone to fight with Sucess mother and father demanding they open the joint account with success, but the parents refused, saying things they get was to take care of Sucess and not to be shared after giving you so much, that Chairman of sapele LOCAL Government advised her against it and promised to give Stephanie a job. Now my question is, Stephanie has been collecting so much from spirited Nigerians, she has not given a dime to Success, but wants to share everything that comes to success with her.

Deputy Speaker of DELTA STATE house of Assembly gave her 500K she didnt give success a kobo, daddy Showkey raised funds for her, she didnt give Success a dine, but wants every part of success share. If this isnt GREED, what else is it? Ok! What is JOYCE share, the girl who took the video to instablog and other social media influencers? Nothing?!

I advise Nigerians to stop forthwith, Stephanie is a SCAM. If she argues, i will post all her WhatsApp chats with Joyce and Mama success and also Public Admin Alumi WhatsApp groups. I dare her to come and refute this Post…"

The Peoples Democratic Party PDP call on the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to declare its presidential candidate, Abba Yusuf winner of Kano governorship election.

We call on the INEC to immediately declare our candidate,

as the winner of the Kano Governorship election, having scored the highest number of lawful votes and secured the statutory 25% in two-third of the state

We therefore call on INEC to immediately do the needful by respecting the will of the people as freely expressed on March 9 and announce Abba KYusuf, as the winner of the election, having fulfilled the demands of Section 179 (2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

The people of Kano state have since made up their minds to have Abba KYusuf

as their governor and any attempt by anybody to subvert their will as already expressed in the March 9 substantive poll will surely attract the legitimate anger of the masses.

The commission therefore cannot accept fabricated figures being bandied by the PDP

as results from the scuttled rerun

INEC is already aware that its supplementary election in Kano was completely disrupted by thugs contracted by the

who invaded polling units and chased away voters.

Our call is predicated on the fact that, no valid voting held on the March 23 Kano Supplementary elections and therefore no figures can be fabricated from the exercise to displace ’s leading margin of over 26, 000 votes.
