dnawah:AS in eh!! The man f.uck up |
IT was a sad way for any family to celebrate Christmas; infact nobody would wish what happened to the family of Ms Rose Aifuwa, an Edo born Nigerian based in Austria, to happen to his enemy. It was a love story turned awry between Festus Aimufua, aka two million, a spare parts dealer in Benin-City, and Rose. Sunday Vanguard learnt that Rose and Festus became business partners about three years ago. She was sending spare parts and used cars, popularly known as Tokunbo from Austria to Nigeria and Festus became her links man here in Nigeria. It was learnt that the duo enjoyed the business relationship until January 2014, when they fell in love and started dating. Their relationship was rosy until last December when Rose arrived Nigeria demanding the money owed to her by her lover. The money was said to be in excess of N20million. It was gathered that goods including cars and spare parts imported into the country under the custody of Festus were sold but the proceeds not remitted to Rose. Rose allegedly arrived Nigeria insisting that Festus should pay her the money but Festus allegedly became evasive. On the eve of Christmas, Rose was said to have invited Festus to her residence at Upper Mission Road, Benin-City. Festus, married with two kids, slept at the residence of his lover and when he was about leaving in the morning of 25 December, Rose demanded for her money after she expressed displeasure with the way and manner Festus is running her chains of businesses here in Nigeria. Sunday Vanguard was informed that when they started dating, Rose handed her business empire to Festus to run for her. Initially, Festus used to purchase spare parts from her and pay immediately, but when they started dating he continued to purchase goods from her money. The proceeds were put around N20million. After a heated argument Festus was said to have rushed to her car that morning and Rose followed suit insisting that her money should be paid. Festus was said to have raced off in his Honda car but in the process hit his lover who was pursuing him. When crack team of detectives from the Police Command took the suspect to the scene of the crime, it was discovered that after hitting her he dragged the body of the decease under the car for another 500 meters before dumping the mangled body at the end of Upper Mission Extension. People who identified the body where it was dumped ran to the family of the lady to inform them. The family immediately went to in search of Festus. Sunday Vanguard learnt that when they saw Festus he was tricked to believe that her lover was still alive but in hospital, so he was advised to report himself to the police. The obviously confused man went to Oregbeni Police Station where he reported the case of accident instead of murder, apparently believing that his lover was still alive. He was arrested. The police consequently visited the scene where the body was dumped and found that the man had committed alleged murder. The incident is creating tension now between the Austrian government and the Nigeria Police. The deceased was said to have travelled to Nigeria with her Austrian passport and, following her death, the Austrian Embassy last Wednesday contacted the police in Edo State over her death. The Edo State Police Commissioner, Foluso Adebanjo, who detailed detectives to unravel the mystery behind the death, confirmed to Sunday Vanguard that the Austrian Embassy contacted them. While the siblings of the deceased may not know much about Rose’s relationship with Festus, their octogenarian mother, Madam Victoria Aifuwa, claimed to have the details of the relationship. Sunday Vanguard met her in their family house at Aduwawa area of Benin-City and she was a complete wreck. She wept uncontrollably, raining curses on Festus for allegedly cutting the life of the family’s bread winner short. ‘Iye’, as aged women are called in Benin, narrated what transpired some 24 hours before the death of her daughter. She said: “I was with my daughter at her residence at Upper Mission on 24 December, 2014. When it was 7pm I told my daughter that I wanted to start going home because I wasn’t feeling well, so she started laughing, calling me old woman. She asked me to come back the next day which was Christmas day. Festus, my daughter’s boyfriend, was with my daughter with some of his friends having drinks when I left them only for me to hear knock on my gate the next day that my daughter’s dead body was lying at a junction. Later, the people that came were trying to hide the matter from me by saying it was minor injury that she sustained. Some people said she was shot at the back while others said her intestine came out. The killer of my daughter said they both slept together and that when he wanted to leave my daughter held him insisting he must pay her the money he owed over some business transaction. It was at that point he knocked her down with his vehicle and dragged her on the ground which led to her death. My world has crumbled, I don’t know what to do, I am in hell without my daughter, she is all I had. Each time my daughter brought goods from abroad, I usually called Festus and after selling won’t remit money. I never knew the same man will eventually kill my daughter and leave me in deep pain”. She wept.“ “She went further: “My daughter even rented an apartment for him (the suspect), spending over N250,000 in the process because they were going out. My daughter said he wanted to uplift his social status and went as far as buying him a car because her friends usually mocked her for going out with some one that was not up to her standard. Beside, she had started building a house for him at Aduwawa. Festus controlled most of her business dealings in Nigeria. Recently, she complained to me that the bulk of her money unremitted was in the custody of Festus; so I advised her not to give him any other goods. My daughter trusted him and that was why she opened her heart to him by ensuring that he was in charge of her business. My daughter was the one that had been sustaining the family, now she is dead. My world has crumbled. I am begging the police and Governor Adams Oshiomhole to come and help me. They should ask Festus why he killed my daughter despite all my daughter did for his in life. I have never seen this kind of wickedness in my life. Instead of killing her he should have gone with the money. I am finished”. Spokesman of the Edo State Police Command, DSP Joseph Edoigiawerie, who confirmed the incident?, said: “A case of murder was reported by one Elvis Omokhojie, that his sister, named Rose Aifuwa, was found lying dead on Upper Mission Extension junction, Aduwawa, Benin-City, and the cause of death unknown. We have been to the scene of incident and taken the corpse to the mortuary. Our investigation led to the arrest of the man friend or lover because, according to the report, he (the suspect) was last seen with her”. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/01/finished-woman-whose-daughter-killed-lover-xmas-day/

nagoma:Tell me more!! I know that Achondroplasia is related to Smallpikinasia and can be detected unless one has overdosed with clinical G2SO4 (or garrium sulphate for the laymen). The report that was submitted was wrong as SmallMini-motor gene was dominant and not the heavi-suv-motor gene as reported. In this particular case, the FGN-pcs+ mutation was present in both parents hence the reason why there is no past medical history of dwarfism/midgetism in this particular family. Thank me later |

Her Excellency, Mrs Ebere Jennifer Ukamaka Obiano has continued to bring odium to Anambra State Government. Her latest display of the absurd was the slapping of the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Okeke. Trouble started on Sunday the 16th of November, 2014, after the dedication of the child of the Anglican Bishop of Awka, His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Ibezim at the cathedral of St. Faith, Awka. The wife of the deputy Governor complained to Dr. Alex Ekwueme as a mother of all on how Ebere Obiano does not carry her along in whatever she does. Desirous of brokering peace, Ekwueme’s Wife, HE, Beatrice Ekwueme accounted Mrs Obiano and advised her on the need to carry everybody, especially the wife of the deputy Governor along. At this point, Mrs Obiano flayed and claimed that the constitution recognizes her and not the Wife of the Deputy. Immediately her Deputy shouted back, she slapped her. It took the intervention of security men to prevent the duo from physical fight. In the quarrel, the wife of the Deputy Governor told her that she cannot kill her as she killed her maid nor slap her as she usually slaps drivers. As the exchange of foul words continued, Sir Victor Umeh took the deputy governor who was there away as he felt completely dejected. http://www.newspunch.org/anambra-governors-wife-ebele-obiano-slaps-deputys-wife/

I'm guessing she is on sports scholarship at her Uni and accepting the money might be construed as employment and will probably have an effect on her scholarship. She stands to gain more thru her scholarship than d paltry $7,000. My two cents ![]() |
West Bromwich Albion are facing an early-season crisis over £9 million record signing Brown Ideye, after the Nigeria international’s difficult start at the Hawthorns. Albion are growing increasingly concerned with Ideye’s struggles since his arrival in July and management staff are understood to be “exasperated” with his lack of impact. Ideye was signed for a record fee from Dynamo Kiev but has made only two league starts and was not even in the matchday squad for the game at Leicester City on Saturday. Alan Irvine, the head coach, admitted shortly after the signing was confirmed that he had never seen Ideye play live, trusting the judgement of the club’s scouting and recruitment department. But Albion have been left stunned by how far the forward appears off the pace since his introduction to the Premier League. Earlier in the season it is understood that one player even asked if Ideye had been promoted from the under-21s to join first-team training for the day. Jeremy Peace, the chairman, is reluctant to make a loss on the club’s marquee summer signing and is determined to help the player as he adapts to the English game. Albion are confident of an improvement in his psychological state when Ideye’s family are expected to move to the country later this month. But there is huge pressure on the club for the signing to come off, after such a fee was paid to bring him in. After the game at Leicester, Irvine admitted: “I haven’t had a chat with him [about why he wasn’t in the squad]. We pick the team carefully and even if it’s the same team it’s still chosen with a lot of thought and care – that applies to the subs as well. “The way that we do it is I say to any player, ‘If you want to come in on Monday, come in on Monday’. But when the team’s named and the subs are named accept that, respect the rest of the players and then come back in later if you want to have a chat. I might have a chat with him on Monday if he feels he needs to have a chat but if he doesn’t I won’t be calling him in.” Albion, however, have dismissed suggestons that they would consider loaning out Ideye in January. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/west-bromwich-albion/11206625/West-Bromwich-Albion-exasperated-over-lack-of-impact-of-9m-record-signing-Brown-Ideye.html

Following journalist- Nicholas Ibekwe‘s explosive tape on which a man alleged to be Prophet TB Joshua is heard offering N50,000 bribe to journalists to write favourable stories about him, a renowned South African investigative journalist, Jacques Pauw has now come forward with claims that Joshua tried to bribe him. Pauw says Joshua gave him and his camera crew thick envelopes full of hundreds of dollar notes. He said they were at Joshua’s Synagogue Church Of All Nations to produce a TV documentary featuring the Prophet and his reported miraculous healing of terminally South Africans. Pauws alleges the “brown envelopes” were to ensure a positive programme was produced. Read his statement below: “I was making a TV documentary and my challenge to Joshua was straightforward: allow me to film how you heal Basson (a 25 year old Springbok rugby player who was dying of liver cancer and went to Prophet TB Joshua for healing). If you succeed, I promise I will show it to the world. When we arrived at Joshua’s compound, the TV team and I were in effect incarcerated. For two weeks, we were forbidden to leave the grounds. We were told we could not drink or smoke, and had to attend services and events with the pilgrims. While I stayed in a dormitory with other pilgrims, Basson and his mother set up camp in a private room. The church took away the young man’s morphine and pain pills. During our first interview, a softly spoken, affable Joshua said it would be easy to heal Wium because he had nothing but a “little sore” on his liver. At Sunday sermons, the afflicted lined up with placards stating what condition they needed healed. There were lines of people seeking a cure for HIV/Aids, cancer and heart conditions, business failures, wandering spouses and dull brains. A festive, almost joyous atmosphere filled the compound as churchgoers sang, clapped and danced. Evil spirits were cast out and those set free by the Prophet writhed in the dirt while vomiting out the demons. Joshua prayed for every person in the line and declared them all healed. He ordered them to stop using any medication and trust in God. Among the pilgrims was Capetonian John Rindel, who was suffering from full-blown AIDS and already had dementia. He had arrived at the church several weeks before we did, was prayed for by Joshua and declared completely healed. He had stopped taking his medicine and showed remarkable improvement. Scientists refer to this as the “placebo effect” of faith healing. A patient can experience genuine pain relief and other symptomatic alleviation after being prayed for. The relief is short-lived and the patient soon returns to his original condition. On my request, Rindel agreed to go for two independent HIV/Aids tests when he returned to South Africa. Both showed he was still positive. He died a short while later. The BBC recently investigated the London branch of the church and reported that three women had died after being “healed” and told to stop taking their HIV/Aids medication. I challenged the pilgrims to provide me with medical proof that they had been healed. None did. Ruben Kruger died in 2010 just before his 40th birthday. And Wium Basson? Joshua never prayed for him. He said God had not sent him a message to do so. The young man left the church broken, disillusioned and at death’s door. He died a few days after returning to South Africa. Before I left the church, Joshua handed me, and the camera and sound people, thick envelopes full of hundred dollar notes. He wanted to be sure we’d produce a positive programme. We gave the envelopes back. A year or so after the programme aired – and generated a massive response from people who called us accusing Joshua of all sorts of misdeeds – the preacher produced a video of a 76-year-old South African man named Moses he said he’d brought back from the dead. Moses was among a group of South African pilgrims in Lagos when he had a heart attack in the dining room. Videos distributed around the world showed three pilgrims, one a doctor from Bloemfontein, trying to resuscitate Moses. They failed, the videos reported, and Moses was carried into another room. Joshua walked in, bent over him and commanded: “In the name of Jesus, rise!” Moses opened his eyes. It later emerged that Moses had been both alive and breathing when he was carried from the dining hall. He’d been resuscitated, not resurrected, and clever editing created a fake miracle. I understand the despair of terminally ill people and why they grasp at final straws. My father died of lung cancer and might well have made the journey to Lagos. I am just glad he is not here any more to become a victim of a ravenous tick that feasts on the blood of the ignorant, gullible and desperate.” http://dailypost.ng/2014/09/24/south-african-journalist-jacques-pauw-claims-t-b-joshua-tried-bribe/

Phil McNulty, BBC Sport Chief Football Writer at Emirates Stadium "Arsenal's fans gave a very warm ovation to the news that Danny Welbeck is making his debut - and he arrives high on confidence after scoring both goals for England in their 2-0 win in Switzerland. "The big debate about Welbeck has always surrounded his ability to be a regular goalscorer, a fact pointed out brutally by Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal as he compared his record unfavourably to Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie, but he will get his chance to answer the questions at Arsenal."
