Fire incident on the pipeline network of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in Ijegun area of Lagos State. Militants Blow Up Pipelines In Delta An Urhobo militant group, Urhobo Gbagbako, on Friday claimed responsibility for Thursday night’s bombing of the NPDC Oil pipelines at Ighrenene, Afiesere and Ekiugbo communities in Delta State. The group, which made the claims in an email sent to some reporters, said it is also planning to shut down all the oil fields in Urhobo and Isoko areas. The email signed by the group’s s spokesperson, Priest Omodjuvwu, said the bombing of the Ekiugbo/ Ighrenene/Afiesere was to draw attention to the neglect of ex-militants of Urhobo extraction. It said the Urhobo had been sidelined in the pipelines protection contracts offered to ex-militants from other ethnic groups and they now want to show that they too had the capacity to cause trouble if ignored. The group said it had sent warning signals to the NPDC and the federal government on the pipeline surveillance contracts, which had excluded the Urhobo. Urhobo Gbagbako however, dissociated itself from media reports about a 14-day ultimatum given to the federal government and NPDC on the oil pipeline surveillance contracts. “We have now resumed attack on the NPDC pipeline facilities on a massive scale, which scale of bombings shall be unprecedented,” the email said. The group said the attacks will continue until the Urhobo got what rightly belonged to them. It explained that Urhobo Gbagbako is a militia group of all ex-militants, youths, women and elders of Urhobo origin. http://247nigerianewsupdate.co/militants-blow-up-pipelines-in-delta/ |

It’s not only men that have to make an impression when going for interviews, as a matter of fact women are more prone to be judged on their appearance, it’s only natural. The good news for women is, unlike in the 1950’s were everyone going to work has to put on a suit (women or men), companies have become less conservative when it comes to dress code. Certain industries still require being corporate but others have a more relaxed atmosphere and it’s not unusual to find employees wearing shorts, T-shirts, and flip- flops to work. You probably don’t need to wear a suit to a job interview as a lady anymore, although dressing too casually may not be such a good idea either. So for the job seeking ladies, i have put together a list of what you will need to make a good first impression at that interview. SUIT/BLAZER Suits are always the first to come to mind when thinking about interviews. For women. It could be grey, navy. or a black suit, as these colours can easily be paired with a light coloured blouse or cotton shirt. Do not wear strapless or spaghetti straps, or well-worn tees under the jacket. LIGHT COLOURED SHIRT A white or light coloured tailored shirt also make a lot of sense for women. They tend to compliment the suit with a little brightness, and do not seem to flashy as attention might be paid to the lady’s chest. Also dress up your look with a necklace or other piece of conservative jewelry. PANTSUIT OR SKIRT SUIT A pantsuit is generally an acceptable choice for a job interview, although, there are still some exceptions depending on the company. If the company or industry is known for its casual work environment, such as a laid back tech company, you may choose to tailor down your look by putting on slacks and a dressy blouse, or a tailored skirt and blouse worn with a cardigan or light weight sweater. HOSIERY Well this is probably the best news you are gonna hear today, some companies have relaxed on their view on their employees putting on leggins, especially during hot weather. So you just might want to keep that leggins of yours a tad longer. However, job interviews are not to be joked with, so be sure that the company’s policy supports dressing that way. Google the company or ask a friend. As a side note, it is preferable to select a sheer or nude color that is close to your own skin tone. SHOES A mid heel, closed-toe pump is a safe choice. Regardless of the current shoe trends, your shoe selection for a job interview should be professional and understated. The exception would apply to a creative position, or a position in the fashion industry where your choice of clothing should reflect the current fashion trends. Well, here’s a list of do’s and dont’s for women going for interviews -Carry either a leather purse or a briefcase, not both -Manicure your nails with a neutral polish -Make up; even minimal makeup is an indicator that you value your professional image -Do not wear short skirts or extreme form fitting garments -Avoid textured, patterned or bright colored hosiery (leggins) -Avoid strong perfume or heavily scented body products -Jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, canvas slip-ons are definitely not allowed #Turn off cell phone and keep out of sight Good luck on your job interview! |
