The newly-elected governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party of today is a “criminal” party. El-Rufai said the PDP he belonged to was different from the one being headed by President Goodluck Jonathan, saying the party no longer had respect for the rules and processes. He said, “It is a big mistake to say that the PDP of 2003 is the same as the Jonathan’s PDP. “The PDP that I was a member had rules and processes. Let me give you one example. As a minister of FCT, I demolished a house belonging to the Chairman of the PDP. “Today, no minister of the FCT can touch the house of a member of the PDP National Executive Committee. The PDP in 1999 was not the same as the PDP of today. The PDP of today is a criminal PDP. “They have no regard for rules. They say that they are Peoples Democratic Party but they have no regard for the people and democracy. “I was minister on the platform of the PDP but I was not a minister because I was in PDP. I was a minister on merit.” He said he was not appointed a minister of the Federal Capital Territory by ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo as a member of the PDP but as a technocrat. El Rufai, who spoke during a courtesy visit to the correspondent chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Kaduna on Saturday, said the incumbent Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; a former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili and himself were appointed by Obasanjo as “technocrats” and not on the basis of political party membership. “The minister representing Kaduna State was Nenadi Usman, because the governor of Kaduna as at that time disowned me and said that I did nothing for the party. But Obasanjo told him that ‘whether you like it or not this man is going to be minister because I have a special assignment for him,’” he said. www.punchng.com/news/pdp-under-jonathan-is-a-criminal-party-el-rufai/ |
A 42-year-old woman, Mrs. Juliana Godwin, despite all odds, has returned to school and is now a JSSI student of Junior Secondary School, Gosa, Abuja. Mrs. Godwin, is from Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State and had dropped out of school in 1983 due to lack of funds. According to her, “I had to leave for Jos in 1983, since my father could no longer sponsor my education to secondary school because he had no money. While I was with my cousin, I enrolled in a tailoring shop to learn dress making. I completed it within a year and six months. In 2003, I was able to save some money from water hawking. I started pepper and tomato business with N1,000 from the savings. I also went into corn roasting business, but my husband stopped me from the business in 2007,” she told Vanguard. In 2008, she decided to go into vocational training with a non-governmental organisation called Refocusing Nigerian Talents Organisation, RENITO, where she was trained in soap (liquid, medicated and bar), pomade and disinfectants production. “Now I can produce and sell the products I was trained on, and I started with N1,500. I came to realise that the business was lucrative and helpful to me and my family. I decided to make savings towards going back to school after I dropped out in 1983. My husband was against my decision and quarrelled seriously with me. But I didn’t give up on my decision. In 2013, I went on to enrol at Junior Secondary School, Gosa, Airport Road, Abuja, where I started in JSS I F. I was able to raise N10, 000 to pay for admission expenses." “Why I decided to start from JSSI was because I had never in my life stepped into the four walls of a secondary school. I told myself I will start from JSS I, as it will help me to have the foundation of secondary school education and to understand what I would be taught. My principal was surprised and asked me whether I could cope with secondary school education as an adult and a married woman. He and the staff also encouraged me to continue since I had made up my mind. But my husband continued making trouble to stop me”. “I am the oldest person in the class of 80 students. I participate in every school activity, and I am happy with that. Even when I come late to school, the teachers do punish me just like other students, and I have no problem with that, but I do behave myself as an adult. I have seen great changes in my life, and I am coping seriously. My aim is to study marketing in the university after I would have completed my senior secondary education”, she added. www.lindaikeji..nl/2014/12/photo-meet-42-year-old-woman-in-jss-1.html?m=1

The Nigerian military has released the detained Russian cargo plane which they seized yesterday morning after France admitted ownership of the aircraft. It said that the flight was covered by a diplomatic clearance given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, noting that the Autonov 124 Russian commercial plane was forced to land at the Kano airport because of dense air traffic at Ndjamena airport, Chad. A statement from the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Jacques Champagne de Labriolle, on Sunday, stated that the Antonov plane had to divert to an alternate international airport and the closest airport facility being Kano, the Russian crew decided to fly there, to refuel, and to take off again to reach Njamena Airport. He denied that the plane was carrying arms and ammunition, stressing that it was conveying two light Gazelle helicopters, spare parts and maintenance items belonging to the French Army. Labriolle further explained that due to the nationality of the aircraft, and the nature of the cargo, airport authorities in Kano, decided to check the flight plan, the clearance and the cargo manifest before authorizing the plane to leave. www.lindaikeji..nl/2014/12/nigerian-military-releases-detained.html?m=1 |
Politics in Nigeria is indeed an interesting game as even at the dying minute, evidence will surely emerge just to prove a point about a contestant. The former Accountant General of Lagos state and one of the highly favoured to emerge as the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress in the ongoing party Primaries, Akinwunmi Ambode, might likely not win if reports reaching us is anything to go by. According to CityRovers, it has been revealed that the form he filled for his Joint Matriculation Examination Board (JAMB) examination in 1983, as it is observed that he is from Ondo state. Ambode, who has been enjoying massive support from the majority, may be investigated as some of the aggrieved politicians have petitioned the Inspector General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of a governorship aspirant of the party for committing perjury in his INEC form and his JAMB form. www..ng/2014/12/05/apc-governorship-ticket-winner-lagos-akinwunmi-ambode-not-lagosianexposed-jamb-see-photos/

A 24 year old woman named Li Zhenghua, was discovered by a shocked nurse trying to eat her baby days after he was born at a local hospital in China. The nurse saw her eating the infant's arm and as she made to rescue the infant, the crazed mum refused to let the baby go. The nurse immediately raised an alarm and called other hospital staff who helped to rescue the baby. According to local media reports, the attack happened at a hospital in the city of Shenzhen in China’s Guangdong Province. The woman had been found on the streets heavily pregnant and in labour.. The homeless woman, suspected to be mentally unstable, was taken to the hospital where she gave birth and attempted to eat her baby. A hospital spokesman spoke to Chinese media; "It was really shocking, the arm was badly damaged and suffered not only heavy bruising but bleeding as a result of the bite. Fortunately, doctors managed to insert something to stop her closing her teeth and then levered her jaws apart. After that they gave her a sedative and took the baby to a secure location." Authorities said the woman's mother-in-law had thrown her out on the streets despite being pregnant after she started acting mental at home. They say they are trying to find out why the new mum tried to eat her baby. The baby has since been taken into the care of the government. No fewer than six students were injured during a clash among some students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, on Sunday evening. While some of the eyewitnesses described the fight as a power tussle between students who were loyal to the President of the Student Union, Ibikunle Isaac, and those of the Vice-President, Oladejo Olufunmi, others described it as a cult attack. They all, however, agreed that the clash was an aftermath of President Goodluck Jonathan’s visit to the institution. It was learnt that the Education Rights Campaign members had just concluded a meeting at the Students’ Union Building when the fight broke out. Among those involved in the fight were some union executive members, suspended students of the university, members of the Security Committee of the SU and ERC members. Some of the students, who suffered varying degrees of injuries, were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. One of them, Tedy, was allegedly stabbed with a pointed object suspected to be a screw driver, while another student, David, was dealt a matchete cut on his head. It was gathered that the door to the SU President Office, where some students hid, was broken while the occupants were thoroughly beaten. There are, however, two sides to the cause of the fight. While some of the students said it was as a result of ideological differences, others inferred that it was related to the protest held during Jonathan’s visit. Jonathan, traditional rulers and some politicians were at the OAU for a conference, where Jonathan was endorsed ahead of the 2015 polls. The campus fracas took a dangerous dimension when students of the school engaged one another at the school gate with weapons. Chief Security Officer of the university, Mr. Paul Ogidi, said there was no cult attack in the institution. “It is true that our students fought. There was no cult attack on our campus. We did not witness any attack, but a fight among our students,” he said. But the Vice-President of the Students Union, Funmi Oladejo, insisted that what happened on the campus could be likened to 1999 cult attack that claimed the lives of students. She denied the fight as being factional, but hinted that the controversy that surrounded the presence of Jonathan on the university campus last Friday contributed to the cause of the fight. She said, “I was to have a meeting at the SUB yesterday (Sunday) around 6pm. On getting there, I met a student, Sanyaolu Oluwajuwon, inside the gutter, where he had been seriously beaten and I wondered what happened. After a while, the injured students went to show the injury to others and that enraged many students. “Meanwhile, what started the fight, I heard, was that ERC were having their meeting when the President and the PRO passed through the place and saw them. He then called his boys to come, saying some people were having an opposition meeting at the SUB. “After beating them up, they ran away except Teddy that waited. We later realised that those that ran to town went to hire cult members, who came with machetes. We eventually caught four of them. Two were students and two were non-students.” When asked if the fight was connected to Jonathan’s visit, she responded, “As far as I am concerned, that is to mess up the whole issue. They want to make it a partisan stuff and that is out of sense. Our unionism is known to be independent and non-partisan. So, the case of Jonathan’s visit was sardonic. They (Ibikunle’s faction) wanted to pay back the opposition that greeted Jonathan’s visit.” It was learnt that the two of the arrested people involved in the fight were taken by students to the Awolowo Hall of the university, while the security officials took another two students involved in the fight. The President of the SU, Isaac Ibikunle, told our correspondent that none of his loyalists were cult members. He promised to call back to give his “full reaction” after a meeting expected to be held between members of the executive and the parliament on Monday The Public Relations Officer of the union, Oludare Bamidele, said, “It remains a sardonic issue that suspended students are beating legitimate students on OAU campus right now. Is this intellectual struggle? The act of dragging a security official to be beaten is an affront to law and arrival of the hobbesian state of nature.” Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Sade Odoro, said those involved in the fight were not cultists. She said, “OAU students truly fought and they were taken to the police station. The police counselled and released them after a while.” Public Relations Officer of OAU, Mr. Biodun Olarewaju, confirmed that the students fought over Jonathan’s visit to the institution. He said, “There was no cult invasion in OAU. Our campus is too fortified for that to occur. Our security go on regular patrol and we are in collaboration with external security forces. “What happened was just a fight between two groups of students. “Some believe that it was wrong for another to take picture and welcome the President, Jonathan, while others believe is not, especially when it is done without their consent. “It is just a friendly fight. All that happened was that a group felt they were not carried along.” www.punchng.com/news/jonathans-visit-oau-students-clash-six-injured-2/

SIXTY-three senators as of Thursday have signed up to the plan to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan in the upper legislative chamber,The PUNCHlearnt in Abuja. One of the arrowheads of the move to remove Jonathan in the Senate showed our correspondent the list containing the signatures of the senators. The source said eight Peoples Democratic Party senators were among the signatories to the planned impeachment notice. There are 109 members in the Senate. An All Progressives Congress senator from the North-West zone, who asked not to be named, told our correspondent that the lawmakers’ major grouse was the President’s handling of the economy and political affairs of the country. The senator cited poor implementation of the national budget since 2011, alleged high level of corruption and “gross disregard” of the legislature at both the federal and state levels as topping the list of lawmakers’ anger against Jonathan. Asked whether he realised that the process of impeachment could be tedious and cumbersome, the senator said, “ We know and we are prepared to show the President that we have responsibility to the people and the nation in general. “We are prepared to lay the impeachment notice anytime from next week. Meetings are already being held.” Senator Ibrahim Musa (APC Niger North) confirmed that there were moves by some members of the Senate to initiate impeachment proceedings against the President but failed to give details. “I think there is something like that but I don’t have the details, it is still coming as a rumour,” Musa said. ButThe PUNCHlearnt that the impeachment move against the President had really gained momentum with the APC senators mobilising themselves to carry out the exercise anytime from next week. Investigations by our correspondent revealed that some PDP senators, who were initially at the forefront of the struggle, had retreated following the intervention of the senate leadership and the promise of automatic tickets by the party. It was learnt that the PDP senators had been pleading with their APC colleagues to hold on till next week pending the outcome of the moves by the senate leadership to ensure the realisation of the automatic tickets agreement they had with the PDP and Jonathan. An APC senator told our correspondent on condition of anonymity that the impeachment letter contains the signature of both the APC and PDP senators. He explained that the letter could not be laid on the floor of the senate because some PDP senators appealed to them to delay the action. He said, “The truth of the matter is that the impeachment notice would have been laid if not for our colleagues in the PDP who pleaded with us to delay the process pending when the senate leadership would come up with the result of its efforts at securing automatic tickets for them. “In any case the process had started but if we submit the letter now, the signatures of the PDP senators will be there and the party might want to use that as an excuse to deny them their automatic tickets.” The PDP senators contacted by our correspondent on the issue declined to make comment. However, one of them who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the process of impeachment had not been suspended. www.punchng.com/news/63-senators-back-plan-to-impeach-jonathan/ |
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba, was adamant on Wednesday, refusing to recognise the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, as the speaker. The IG simply addressed him as “Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal”, a title that angered members of the House Committee on Police Affairs. Abba insisted that it would be “subjudice” for him to address Tambuwal as speaker or any matter relating to him so long as such a matter was in court. Chairman of the House committee, Mr. Usman Bello-Kurmo, asked him a direct question, “Is Aminu Waziri-Tambuwal the Speaker of the House of Representatives or not?” The IG replied, “Mr. Chairman, you know that matters before the courts are subjudice. “Commenting on them is subjudice until they are disposed of.” The response brought the session between Abba and the committee to an abrupt end, as the two parties stormed out of the venue. The committee, acting on a House resolution, had summoned Abba to explain why the police shut the gates of the National Assembly against lawmakers on Thursday last week. During the closure, Tambuwal and many lawmakers were disallowed entry by the police, resulting in violent reactions by the members. In the process, many of them scaled the gates to enter the premises and later forcibly took the Speaker into the House. Riot policemen reacted by throwing tear gas canisters at Tambuwal and the enraged members. As the Wednesday’s meeting was about to start, Bello-Kurmo called for maturity, saying that the interest of the country must prevail at all times. However, speaking on what transpired last week, the IG justified the police action. He maintained that all those the police restrained from entering the National Assembly were “thugs.” Rather than admitting that his men threw tear gas canisters at lawmakers, he claimed that “a tear gas canister exploded.” Abba also told lawmakers to their faces that it was his men who suffered physical assault and not the lawmakers. He said, “The police management and particularly my own person, I was traumatised by what I saw happened to police officers that day. “What happened was unprecedented worldwide; policemen were physically beaten and disobeyed, among other things that happened.” He claimed that the police shut the National Assembly for security reasons after the Force Headquarters received intelligence that Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, and All Progressives Congress supporters were going to attack the legislature and other public offices on November 20. According to him, a day earlier on the 19th, the “leadership” of the APC, Amaechi and party members had blocked the Force Headquarters in Abuja, “where they made uncomplimentary statements and threatened to do worse (things) in the days ahead.” Among the places he claimed would have been attacked by the APC members and Amaechi were the Presidential Villa and the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission. He added that his men merely asked for identification from lawmakers and that they allowed those who complied into the premises. The IG stated that, bearing in mind that the parliament in Burkina Faso suffered a similar attack recently, he ordered the massive security beef-up to safeguard the National Assembly. He added, “The procedure was orderly until the arrival of Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal and his men with quite a number of suspected thugs to disrupt the security arrangements. “Unfortunately, a tear gas canister exploded at the gate; the situation is unfortunate and it is being investigated.” He also claimed to have briefed the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms to the National Assembly and “some members of staff of principal officers” on the police action a day earlier. Abba was very careful throughout his speech, avoiding the use of the word “speaker” when referring to Tambuwal. Members were already boiling with anger over the IG’s attitude and could barely wait for him to round off before they berated him for “disrespecting” the Speaker. Two members of the committtee, Hakeem Munir and Victor Nwokolo, asked him to retract his earlier comment and address Tambuwal with his official title, but Abba refused. With members threatening to walk out of the meeting if Abba would not recognise Tambuwal as the Speaker, Bello-Kurmo called off the session abruptly. The committee resolved that the discussions could no longer hold since the IG would not accord Tambuwal his respect. Lawmakers stormed out of the venue angrily, stopping Bello-Kurmo from shaking hands with Abba or making efforts to see him off to the door. www.punchng.com/news/its-not-right-to-call-tambuwal-speaker-ig/ |
President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday in N’Djamena, the Chadian capital reiterated the need for Nigeria and her neighbours to intensify joint actions and cooperation to win the war against terrorism and insurgency. A statement by the his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, quoted the President as speaking to reporters at the Presidential Palace in N’Djamena after a closed-door meeting with his Chadian counterpart, President Idris Deby. Abati further quoted the President as saying that their talks focused mainly on security and economic cooperation. He reportedly told the journalists that the Boko Haram sect had a lot of external influence from outside Africa and it had become more imperative for all countries in the region to work together to overcome terrorism and other criminal activities across their borders. “If you look at the economies of Nigeria and Chad both are linked. The Boko Haram people don’t take permission to move from Chad, Niger, Cameroon and Nigeria. “If the countries do not cooperate, we will not find it easy to win the war, because when the heat is strong in one country, the criminals and terrorists will go to another one and hide. “So, we must work together and we are discussing along that line,” Jonathan reportedly told reporters. He also recalled that his visit to Chad was the second in the last one month, noted that it underscored the importance of building a “robust relationship” between both countries to improve trade, economic and security ties. He said that discussions between both countries on cooperation in the ICT sector were ongoing and expressed optimism that more proficient use of modern technology would help greatly to address economic and security challenges in the region. Jonathan, who was accompanied on the one-day official visit by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali, and the Director-General the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ayodele Oke had returned to Abuja. It will be recalled that Jonathan had, on September 8, held a closed-door security meeting with Deby to discuss ways of ending the Boko Haram menace. The meeting between both leaders was a follow-up to their discussions in Nairobi, Kenya, about a week earlier on the sidelines of the African Union Peace and Security Council summit. www.punchng.com/news/again-jonathan-meets-chadian-president-over-insurgency/ |
The Special Task Team on the City Cleaning and Management inaugurated by the Federal Capital Territory Administration, has secured the conviction and sentencing of 25 Okada riders without an option of fines. They were convicted by the mobile courts for violating environmental laws. The FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed, who said this on Monday in Abuja, explained that the Task Team to date had prosecuted 41 offenders at the mobile courts. According to him, four persons were discharged while the cases involving other offenders are ongoing. The minister said the team had arrested 492 commercial sex workers and 128 miscreants as well as 17 mentally ill persons. On non-usage of pedestrian bridges and destruction of barricades by residents, the minister warned that anyone found crossing the highways would face the wrath of the law. Mohammed directed the security agencies, particularly the Police and the Directorate of Road Traffic Services, popularly known as VIO, to deploy personnel in some critical points to enforce compliance with the usage of the pedestrian bridges in Area 1, 3, Garki, Kubwa, Lugbe and Dei-Dei. Meanwhile, the Task Team, headed by the FCT Police Commissioner, Mr. Wilson Inalegwu, has called for the review of the fines and penalties in the Abuja Environmental Protection Board laws. www.punchng.com/news/court-jails-25-abuja-okada-riders-492-prostitutes-arrested/ |

Report reaching Abusidiqu indicates that the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, may have ordered the arrest of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal. According to report, the IG has given instruction to the commissioners of Police in the FCT and Sokoto, the speaker’s home state to effect his arrest. The order for his arrest a source said is in connection with the face-off the speaker and other members of the National Assembly had with the Police on Thursday. Sources at the Police headquarters revealed that the Police chief gave the order for Tambuwal’s arrest after a meeting with Vice President Namadi Sambo and the National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki. “I can confirm to you that the order for his arrest has been given today (Friday). The signal from the IG’s office specifically directed the FCT and Sokoto State commissioners of Police to serve Tambuwal with notice of invitation to the force headquarters and if he resists, he should be arrested immediately, “the source revealed. “The involvement of Sokoto CP was because the Speaker was sighted in Sokoto on Friday where he picked the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship form for the coming elections. It was assumed that he was out of Abuja as such other police divisions were involved in the matter.” Sources at the meeting in Villa indicate that both the Vice President and the NSA chastised the Police boss for the failure of his men to prevent Speaker from entering the national assembly premises. “The NSA was particularly angry and told the IG in clear terms that he doesn’t know his job. He said how did the Speaker and the members break a cordon organised by the FCT Police commissioner. The NSA then made it clear that the Police authorities must rectify the anomalies or they will face the consequences. The IG then said Tambuwal will be arrested for question. www.abusidiqu.com/just-police-ig-reportedly-orders-arrest-speaker-aminu-tambuwal/ |

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, on Tuesday, opted out of the race for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress. The Speaker made his decision public in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen, in Abuja. Tambuwal said the decision to suspend his bid was taking after due consultation and consideration of the overall interest of the party. He equally noted that going ahead with such a bid at this time would alter calculations on the political chess board of the APC. The Speaker stressed that when he received the Presidential nomination forms, he was convinced that he had what it takes to make a difference. This, he said, led him to embark on extensive consultations towards taking a decision on whether to participate or not – not to actualise a personal ambition, but rather to actualize our dream for a new Nigeria. The statement partly read, “Having consulted widely, taking into consideration the concerns of some elders of the party, I have decided to suspend my participation in the presidential contest for now.” www.punchng.com/news/tambuwal-suspends-presidential-bid/ |

The easiest time to prevent a divorce or an unhappy marriage is before marriage, not after. There is no gainsaying that love can have such a drunken effect on the about-to-wed that clear danger signals become unimportant to them, while hope becomes the only commodity. After all, is it not said that love conquers all? Great! But what type of love is meant there? There are traits that some people cannot drop. It is like hoping that a right-handed spouse will one day become left-handed: a classical case of waiting for Godot! If you are looking for a wife or a husband, please be wary of these groups of people. Those who can never say, “sorry” They would hurt you, annoy you, disappoint you, but would never apologise, because they believe that it would belittle and demean them. When you are wrong, you apologise to them, and when you are right, you still apologise to them, hoping that that they would change. But they never do. You start to feel irritated and agitated. The love and respect you felt for them start to wear away. Those who can never say, “Thank you” Whatever you do for them, they are never grateful. “Why should I say, ‘Thank you’ when you are just doing your duty?” Some would say that their gratitude is in their heart. Do you have to open a heart to see the gratitude and get it? Such an attitude causes irritation and frustration and unhappiness. Such people also believe the world owes them a lot. They go around their activities with an entitlement mentality. They are difficult to please. Those who have excessive libido or inadequate libido Sexual intercourse is a very important factor in marriage, but when you have a spouse that needs it for breakfast, lunch and supper, it is difficult to have any peace in the family. Infidelity also knocks on door. On the other hand, when you have a spouse that hates sex or thinks that sex should only be had once a year during the wedding anniversary or birthday celebration, there is also trouble in the house, and infidelity is usually a challenge. Men who think women are to be seen but not heard Some men still live in the 18th century, in spite of the depth of education they profess. It is true that marriage is not a zone for feminist crusade, but if a man has archaic views about women, then, please avoid him like an Ebola patient. Watch out for statements like: “How can an ordinary woman want to be the CEO?” “How can a woman chat with men?” Women who believe they don’t need men in their lives Such women believe that they are self-sufficient in all things. They have the I-don’t-give-a-damn attitude. Men feel ill at ease when they are with women who don’t allow a room in their lives for a man to fill. Such women find it difficult to express love. They fly into quarrels easily. This creates frustration and conflicts. Men who are looking for housemaids, not wives These are men who still live in the 15th century. They have an archaic idea of what the role of wives is. They believe that women are only meant to cook, clean the house, bear children, and serve the men. They believe that when the men talk, women must just obey. The man can keep mistresses, but the woman should keep quiet and not even be seen greeting a man. A woman should not work, should not step out of the house, and should not complain whatever the man doles out to her. Those who can never trust anybody These are those who believe that everybody is a dangerous enemy that has evil designs against them. They have an obsession with fear of people, including their spouse, that it is irritating. Once a spouse cannot be trusted, there can never be joy in the family. Those who have no respect for others People can mouth love, but without respect, a marriage can never be happy. Women who love to prove a point by insulting their husbands, or men who believe in treating their wives without dignity in the name of cutting their wives to size: such people make terrible marriage partners. Women who see all men as competition that must not be given an inch Marriage is not a place for activism. A woman who sees a man as a competitor rather than a complement is a dangerous person to marry. When a man has to contend with a woman every minute, when a man is always too conscious of what to say or do to his wife, then there is a problem. Those who can’t control their temper Hot-tempered people are dangerous. They can utter anything in anger. They can do things that they will regret for life. They can be violent. Their words can be venomous. They can put you in trouble. Those who cannot forgive Forgiveness makes us look superhuman. But there are those who cannot forgive, no matter the circumstances. Not only can they not forgive, they can also not forget. Because they can’t forgive, they usually think of how to get revenge. Those who have not been weaned by their parents Age has little to do with maturity in marriage. Those who have not been “weaned” by their parents make poor marriage partners. They are full of “Mummy said”, “Daddy said”. They take every family discussion to their parents. They cannot do anything unless their parents approve. They allow their parents to run their homes in the name of showing respect to the mother-in-law or father-in-law. Those who are tied to the apron strings of their parents make marriage tasteless. Such spouses are as a constant source of frustration and sadness. You will always be wrong. You will always be vilified. In summary, marriage is not a bed of roses. There is nobody without some faults or idiosyncrasies. But it is foolhardy to walk into a landmine with one’s eyes open, praying and hoping that the explosive would not go off. To avoid heartache, neither blind love nor desperation to get a married should push a bachelor or spinster to jump into a marriage with someone that will cause nothing but pain, sadness, and sorrow. |

The Federal Government on Monday resolved to extend the state of emergency declared in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States for the third time. The emergency rule was first declared in the affected states on May 14, 2013 by President Goodluck Jonathan over the continued activities of members of the Boko Haram sect. Since that first declaration of six months, the emergency rule had been extended twice. The third tranche of six-month emergency rule expires on Thursday. The decision to extend it for the third time was taken at a meeting of the National Defence Council presided over by Jonathan on Monday. THE PUNCH had reported exclusively earlier on Monday that a decision on whether to extend the emergency rule or not would be taken at the meeting. Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Muhammed Adoke (SAN), disclosed the council’s decision to State House correspondents. Adoke said having reviewed the emergency rule, the council resolved that the government should request the National Assembly to extend the emergency rule. When asked when the request would be sent bearing in mind that an arm of the National Assembly is currently on break, the minister said it would be done immediately. “The council reviewed the issue of the state of emergency and the government will be requesting the National Assembly to extend the emergency rule. It (the communication) will go in immediately,” he said. The Council which is one of the federal executive bodies established by Section 135 of the nation’s Constitution has the power to advise the President on matters relating to the defence of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Nigeria. Its members include the President who shall be the chairman; the Vice President who shall be the Deputy Chairman;Minister of Defence; Chief of Defence Staff; Chief of Army Staff; Chief of Naval Staff; Chief of Air Staff; and such other members as the President may appoint. Those who attended the Monday meeting included the CDS, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh; COAS, Lt.-Gen. Kenneth Minimah; CNS, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin; CAS, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu; Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba; and the National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.). Others were Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim; Minister of Defence, Gen. Aliyu Guasu (retd.); and the Minister of Interior, Mr. Aba Moro. While declaring emergency rule in the three states in 2013 in a nationwide broadcast, Jonathan had invoked Section 305 (1) of the 1999 Constitution as amended. He had announced that regardless of the state of emergency imposed, the political structures in the affected states would remain intact. Following continued violence in the state in spite of the emergency rule, there were calls for the sacking of the state governors to pave way for the appointment of military administrators. The Presidency had however said it was unconstitutional for the President to sack state governors. www.punchng.com/news/fg-okays-emergency-rule-extension-in-borno-yobe-adamawa/ |
To our future mother's and wives! I greet you in the most mannered way. We have said a few things about your bfs and future husbands, but then again we have heard this many times, behind every successful man there is a woman, and success does not always mean a mans pocket or status! A man can be successful in many areas of his life. We have big problem on our hands the problem started many years ago, you were younger, and you met a man, ... shortly after, all you could do was dream of him, his thoughts filled your mind, nothing else mattered, it was just u and him, suddenly he's drifting, soon he's seeing someone else, you are left to heal your hurts and pain, soon after that you met yet another man and this time it felt even better but ended same way, u try again and again, same result, the problem is/was all you had to offer him was your loins! He got tired of it and on to the next, and because there are so many women out there who just believe sex is the best way to a mans heart the circle is multiplying, the funny truth is, you loose your value the more a man sleeps with you if u ain't his wife, if you doubt me ask a runs girl. My question is how do you make men see you? -How resourceful are u? Outside sex can make a man need you? -Have you developed yourself to the point that a man can't imagine loosing you? -Are you a woman a man can live with?, - Do you have effective communication skills? -Do you listen to your man when he talks to you? Or do you argue instead, You want a loyal man? You may need to be worth it. Do not be fooled, most of you spend so much of your time waiting on a man, before you do something with yourself, this makes it easy for a man to over look you, a lot of young women are so damn lazy and dream big, of course you would rather date a well to do man, because you don't want an obvious situation where you are demanded to grow and contribute to the relationship, so you sell your speaking right to the man, you sell your body to a man just so u can have phones, shoes, bags etc, when people do what you should be able to do for yourself for you, you become a burden, things that can be lost in a moment are the reasons you are in a relationship that isn't adding to your life except maybe you bank account , You overfeed him with sex, a relationship that is sex based, if it makes it to the alter? it is that same sex that will bring it down from the alter! When the issues of life hits you as a married woman, your man wouldn't have time to wait or look for a solution with you, he would go out! He's used to it courtesy of you, every time you sleep with a man you ain't married to you are creating a potential cheat, sex addict etc, so after creating a sex addict, you marry him, what do you expect? Most of the problems you will face in your marriage you have already created them while you where single, you sleep with someone's randy husband which a woman created, maybe his wife did when she was your age. Just the same way you are creating one right now, he could buy u ice cream and sleep with her then, now he's buying u phones and sleeping with you. Just to show how meaningless u are to him? He still goes back to his wife!Be careful what u wish for, with your actions, imagine a world without std's, a world with faithful men and women, imagine that you are not cheating on your bf right now, imagine he isn't cheating, imagine if married meant married, it is possible but it begins with you! A woman has powers she isn't even aware of, if she knew men wouldn't toy with her, discover your purpose, don't be a needy woman waiting for a man to come along, they surely will the question is will they take you along? When you have slept with so many men why would u not say all men are the same? Why would want to get married? When you know there is karma? We live in a world where women create monsters, and other unmarried young girls encourage them by doing the same thing most wives of today did yesterday. Finally young, (Tall short fair dak fat skinny)girls do not date men who have no use for u outside his bedroom, young men stop jumping from one bed to another if you do not want to be the man whose wife fights on social media! Wives do not let yourself go simply because you are married! Look good, work out, live healthy, marriage and kids is just a phase of life its not the end of it!, then our father's we are tired of you! You need to stop chasing every girl you come across, the blessings God gave you is not to hurt others! Teach your wife what you want from her! Vagina is the same, your mindset is the problem! We don't want to be look like you wen we grow up, we want to be better. God bless you. |
