Well, a pastor is expected to preach against vices in society, which for most people include drinking and smoking

And that is what Bakare is doing.

It does not make him a hypocrite. He would have been one if he preached against all that, AND indulged in those things. He doesn't.

I don't know, but it seems that when someone speaks out against our favorite vices, they are apparently hypocrites.

Especially vices like drinking and smoking which combined cause a lot of health issues and problems....

You are criticsing a leopard for being a leopard. Well, it can't help being a leopard.
even the jesus christ matrix137 the fool is mentioning abhors sin and sinful habits despite rolling with sinners. Its not hypocrisy to condemn sinners. Nobody can see God unless he's holy. Moses saw God cos he was a godly man. Isaiah saw God cos he was faithful. God is not an supporter of immorality as prevalent in our society. Lets call a spade a spade

Blue Beetle.......7.5/10

A truly enjoyable flick all through. Wild ride from start to finish. It had heart, hilarious and entertaining.

The action scenes were premium. Great score, nice visuals and CGI. Peak suit. The director truly understood what it was to be Blue Beetle and got the character well. Nice touch with the family vibe to it. Added some sort of authenticity to it with the Latino socio-cultural makeup. Xolo Mariduena truly understood the assignment portraying a live action Blue Beetle. The dialogue between Jaime Reyes and Khaji-Da was peak!!
Generic it might be at times, but it's definitely a nice family movie.
The film is clearly made for fans.

Anyone saying this movie is bad is just clowning. If it was released during 2014 - 2019, it would have smashed the box office and people will be singing Kumbaya. But since it's DC its way easier to hate and get away with it these days. If it was a success at the BO

With actual "really good movies" becoming a rare find these days, it has afforded me the chance to revisit classics that i might have missed over the past eras where making a bad movie was so alien. I coped this semi cult classic and maaan it was so good.

The plot sees 2 linear plot lines juxtaposing each other to the finest details and running concurrently but from the get go, you'd just know these 2 plot lines are headed for an epic head on collision course/ showdown.

On one hand or plot line if you will, is our main guy, William Foster played by the impeccable Michael Douglas at his absolute peak, a middle aged, out of job and out of luck American man in a white shirt and tie, with severe anger and temperament issues just waiting for the slightest nudge to lit his ve clockwork,

Not Wenger it is Pep. First he started using a weakling in DM that only do short and side way passes. He has influenced the game with boring football and philosophy, players can’t express themselves except you are Messi. Little wonder KDB shouted at him back last season. This is why I love to watch Real Madrid game, I used to watch some Barca game then because of Messi but not anymore. I don’t even watch city games. Aside chelsea I love to watch Liverpool play and now Newcastle United, they are entertaining to watch. Wenger played exciting tip tap then.
it is Chelsea that is boring to watch. I can manage Liverpool, I can manage arsenal, I can manage Burnley but Chelsea is a no no. I saw couple of their games last season and I felt like going to bed early. It was an eyesore. They couldn't create chances, they couldn't trap the ball, they couldn't string two to three passes together, they couldn't build from the back. Pep is the architect of romantic football but you buffoons will not appreciate him because you are used to your club's gra gra style of play

5 Things Arsenal Must Do to Win the Premier League This Season
1. Avoid further slip-ups
At this point, Arsenal cannot afford any further slip- ups if they are to win the Premier League. Arteta's men must hit the ground running in their subsequent matches, starting with their upcoming clash against relegation battlers Southampton.
2. Hope for Man City to falter
Man City often have the scariest run towards the end of a Premier League campaign. For the longest time, especially during Pep Guardiola's tenure, City do not drop as many points during the run-in. But with the side still competing in the FA Cup and the Champions League, it is almost likely they could drop some points on the way.
3. See off Man City
Arsenal's trip to the Etihad Stadium has been touted as a possible decider for this season's EPL title race. For context, Pep Guardiola has already described the cracker as a final. One thing Arsenal must have on top of their agenda is to pick points in the encounter.
4. Avoid mental breakdown
Arsenal stars are bound to suffer a mental breakdown in the coming days. This is especially so due to their recent outings where they have dropped points from winning positions. Mikel Arteta and his backroom staff will have to find a way to keep the squad motivated and in high spirits ahead of the run-in.
5. Arteta's tactics with the squad
Mikel Arteta has an almost fully fit squad to select from in the upcoming matches. The Spaniard's biggest headache is perhaps how to line up in his attack after the return of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah. Arteta's squad rotation and tactics are expected to play a key role in how the remainder of their campaign pans out.

Politics / Re: Prof Osunbor: No Place In Constitution That Says You Must Score 25% In FCT by limcar: 4:38pm On Apr 15, 2023
ObaIgwe1:

Nope. It is very simple and straightforward. There is no mistake anywhere. The intent and and understanding of the constitution is clear.

When defining the geographical entities that make up Nigeria, it is always "36 states and Abuja".

By intent and purpose, there is no reason to give Abuja voters special consideration, the voters in Abuja are not different from voters in other states. And don't forget, it is not only Abuja indigenes that can vote in Abuja, Anyone living in Abuja can vote in Abuja as it is in other states.

Abuja by itself is not state, it is a territory carved out for the federal government. But then the people living there are Nigerians and they are entitled to vote like people in other states.

Now Section 299 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria states clearly "The provisions of this Constitution shall apply to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as if it were one of the States of the Federation" Abuja is not a State, but the constitution wants it treated as if it were a state. This is why Abuja is being treated as the 37th state.

It is just per chance that 2/3 of 36 gives us a round figure of 24 but the constitution makes provision for creation of more states.... What happens when we now have say 38 or 39 states? We will still have fractions when we try to find the 2/3. But that shouldn't be a problem.

Supreme Court in their apology agree with Late Justice Kayode Eso, the only dissenting judge of the 1979 Supreme court case against against Sagari; that we can not have fraction of a state, so whatever excess on the whole calculation should be taken as complete state. What that means is that even if the calculation of 2/3 comes to say 24.05, the .05 must be taken as whole, which is 25 because we do not have fraction of a state.

There is no ambiguity here, except you jut want to refuse to see things as it is.

You just don't wanna accept the fact. Even if the Supreme Court rule disagrees with you, you will still not accept. Things are not base on what you want or think it should be...

Think about this: imagine we have 2 candidates and one wins 36 states and a candidate from Abuja wins Abuja by over 90%, so we will continue to have inconclusive and rerun election even if election was done 1000 times only because of Abuja. Can that be the real understanding of that part of the constitution?
I wholeheartedly disagree with you here. If a candidate wins 24.05 states out of 37, common sense should tell you he already met the 24 states requirement and so no need to approximate it to 25
