Politics / You APC Fanatics Are Jobless Cretins! by literatichick: 2:51pm On Aug 02, 2015 |
So are you PDP maniacs. Why do you indulge in such frivolous acts that skim the surface of why Nigerians don't have it good. Is it joblessness? Here, watch this video to realize why all politics is useless and why Nigerians and the world at large are towing the wrong path! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IoQ4adNLac |

The article quoted by the OP is incorrect. So far what Man Booker released is the longlist NOT the shortlist. Big achievement for a debut writer however. Adichie was another Nigerian "debut" author who was actually shortlisted though she didn't win. 1 Like |

Dr. Alban has been overlooked time and time again. His dance songs were big in the 1990's especially In Europe: Alban Uzoma Nwapa (born 26 August 1957), known by his stage name Dr. Alban, is a Nigerian-born Swedish musician and producer with his own record label dr-records.[1] His music can best be described as a Eurodance/hip-hop reggae with a dancehall style.[1] He sold an estimated 16 million records worldwide[2][3][4] and is most famous for his worldwide 1992 hit "It's My Life".[1] 1 Like |

Flavour's "Ashawo Remix" was a continental hit in 2011. It also hit the airwaves in the carribbean big time. The Op also forgot "Sweet Mother" by Nico Mbarga Each of these songs were WAY bigger than Wiz Kid's Ojuelegba. 3 Likes |

Five Stages Of Grief - Black Racism Edition 1. Denial - Black apologists denying any wrongdoings for the perilous state of the race. From saying that only Blacks had advanced civilizations with no flaws to denying that Blacks were involved in the slave trade, to blaming every misfortune on African soil on external circumstances. 2. Anger - Black apologists becoming angry at the global system, and spitting venom day in and out against White people. Sometimes being angry at Jews, Asians and Arabs. Sometimes especially turning in on each other. Angry at Black Women for wearing weave and bleaching, for instance. 3. Bargaining -Preaching aimlessly to the Black community about what they must do to "overcome." Meaningless platitudes such as neocolonialism, self hate, unity, love are used as conditions for black deliverance and are laid out annoyingly and desperately to deflect from important issues. See stripper lover Umar Johnson for additional details. 4. Depression - At the futility of reconciling Black failure with the constant battle for redemption. Overwhelming news of self-inflicted problems in Black communities in Africa, Europe and the Americas cause apologists to oscillate between the first stage of grief and back. 5. Acceptance - Coming to terms with Black Failure and seeing it as separate from your reality and persona. Letting go. Living and letting others live. Breathing. Where is the OP on the list? Where are YOU? The story continues... |
Politics / Re: 35 Women Tell Their Stories About Being Assaulted By Bill Cosby by literatichick: 2:31am On Jul 28, 2015 |
Bill Cosby is a typical Black man drunk on power and obsessed with sex to the extent of raping women. Women in America are lucky self. They should come to Nigeria....multitudes of poor women raped, assaulted and shamed to silence because their perpetrator was a powerful man. |

IGBOSON1: Did you read their stories? I googled this article and some of the details are so disgusting: http://nymag.com/thecut/2015/07/bill-cosbys-accusers-speak-out.html I'm sorry but there's no way ALL these women were lying. Some of the accusers include high profile celebrities like Beverly Johnson. I feel like people are very anti-woman when it comes to rape cases. Pray this doesn't happen to any of your female relatives so that they don't have to deal with the trauma of being raped + the scorn of the public accusing them of being whores/gold diggers. 1 Like |
Culture / How Did Pre-colonial Nigerian Women Deal With Their Monthly "Cycle"? by literatichick: 5:11pm On Jul 23, 2015 |
Just curious. These days we have the convenience of using sanitary pads and tampons. Periods are now seen as nothing more than an annoyance that the gals can get over with in a few days. But in the days of "yore" when all of these niceties did not exist, how did we handle ourselves? I read that in medieval Europe, women had to sit on a bed of straw and hay (in a stable) for days on end until the ordeal was over. Were they also isolated and kept from performing daily activities such as cooking and farming? |

StOla: Abegii. Whether he helped the hospital or not may do nothing to secure his vote as we already know the Yorubas in Lagos carry "indigene politics" matter for head like no tomorrow. And even if he did it for selfish reasons, at least 200 people have a reason to be grateful for living even if it is only fleeting. You call what you see here chestbeating compared with other instances when Yoruba politicians reached out to one or two Igbos? Please revisit those instances (simple NL search will suffice) and come back here. You Yorubas love to dish it but then you can't even take up to half of it. Get over yourselves! 3 Likes |
