EducationRe: Will Uniben Admit Students Into The Factulty Of Medicine This Year? by LizyL: 7:37pm On Mar 25, 2012
Why don't you call the school directly and ask? I think that's the best way to go about it.

EducationRe: 2012/2013 Prospective Medical Students by LizyL(op): 5:54pm On Jan 17, 2012
What about igbinedion university for medicine?
lomaxx:
Had admission in 2 universities to study this medicine- first and second choice. That was 3yrs back. Now the tide is changing. Nigerian Medical and Dental Council and NUC has recently been applying pressures on Universities to reduce the number of students admitted in the course. We were 77 that had admission in my set. This year only 40 was admitted. You seehuh Second choice bet is losing its potency real fast. I'd advice that you put all your enthusiasm in getting your first choice. And make a first choice that'd give you higher chances of being admitted and make sure the school is accredited for medicine. Any school accredited for medicine in Nigeria has successfully satisfied the minimum requirements to make you a doctor worthy to stand the tide of medical practice anywhere in the world.

Well im not interedted in the UK to be honest but thanks for your input. And yes I know it has problems with accreditation but it seems that it will be stable from now even though we can't be sure. I'm interested in private unis after living abroad for 17 years and I have heard about strike and many scary things that go on in federal and state unis,

Also I'm filling my jamb form and I'm condused about which schools to put as first and second choice, Help me out, Especially which schools accept medicine as second choice?

Hello all , Im so confused about college in this country because of my growing up in the states for 17 years , I will be writing WAEC next year and need some help with college choices as well as other countries where institutions are well in tact. Because of the course i want to study, which is medicine, I dread to study in America due to the duration of the course. Where is a good place i can study medicine here in Nigeria or another country?

Thanks.

yamakuza:
Come to think of it, its almost the same duration oh!

Cos after spending 6 to 7 yrs here due to JAMB or strikes, u'd still need to spend 1 or 2 yrs taking exams in the States before you can practice.

If you want 4 to 5 yrs guaranteed, try Ghana.
Dunno if they have pharmacy though.

The A'Levels might even help you get into 2nd year straightaway!
Yeah i heard bout Ghana but id rather school in nigeria because of family , and unilag has a cool pharmacy program i heard so i will consider unilag and i actually havent taken all the waec subjects but mainly i need to pass english, math, chemistry, physics and biology which I'm already familiar with so i think ill be okay .
