According to Carlifornia Prison Officials, Former American football star Lawrence Phillips, who was a a star college running back at Nebraska in the mid-1990s has been found dead in a case of suspected suicide in his jail cell.
Prison Guards at Kern Valley State Prison found the 40-year-old unresponsive in his cell shortly aftermidnight on Wednesday Jan. 13th. He was later pronounced dead at about 1.30am.

Eight Nigerian pirates identified as Molih William, Molilh, Klinsman, David Jacob, Amos Ebiyaibo, Aki Peggy John Picolo, Ayetimili Oyinle and Pinano Saniyu, have been deported by the Ghanaian authorities. The Nigerians were arrested following a complaint lodged by the Nigerian owner of a vessel, Sunday Nakase who said the men had stolen his oil ves­sel, MT Mariam, together with its crude oil contents and directed the crew to steer to an undisclosed destination.

This happened on January 1st 2016. The young lady who works at a night club in Surulere was attacked by her boyfriend because she invited her ex to the club to celebrate the New Year. According to an eye witness who spoke with LIB, the girl’s ex arrived the club with his friends and a few hours later, the present boyfriend came in and saw the lady attending to the ex. He kept his cool until the ex-boyfriend left, after which he confronted the girl…and during an arguement, attacked her. He then smashed a metal on the girl’s head, bursting it open. The girl was rushed to the hospital where she was treated. Trying to find out if the guy was arrested.

A teenage girl is being questioned over the murders of her mum and mother’s boyfriend after their decomposing bodies were found at their home, it was reported. The remains of Rosie Sanchez, 38, and Anderson Nunez, 40, were discovered at their Brooklyn apartment around 8pm on Sunday.

Sanchez’s 15-year-old daughter is being quizzed by police after allegedly confessing to a cousin that she killed them because her mum’s boyfriend repeatedly raped her, police said.
The cousin is believed to have called police, who found the decomposing bodies after conducting a welfare check, Pix11 reported.
Sanchez was found dead in a bedroom chair while the body of Nunez was discovered on the kitchen floor.

A 16-year-old girl in India was found hanging on Christmas day after apparently taking her life. She had been kidnapped and gang-raped as punishment for her mother winning a local election. She went to the police with her mother to report the matter but she wasn’t taken seriously. Feeling humiliated and traumatised, she took her own life. Two Egyptian policemen have been sentenced to 25 years in prison for torturing and beating a citizen to death at a police station in the Tanta city of Gbarbiya province.

The Tanta Criminal Court held that it had on a previous occasion sentenced the two policemen – a captain and a non-commissioned officer – to one year in prison for torturing and injuring another citizen at the same police station.

The two policemen were sentenced in absentia.

Reports say the two victims of the policemen’s brutality were in for theft. While one was tortured to death during interrogation, the other sustained injuries that landed him in hospital.

Prophet Samson was said to have hit the deceased, identified as Kehinde on the head with a diabolic ring.

Immediately the Prophet saw the gravity of his offence, he absconded but was arrested by police.
