Strategic Meeting on Digital Gaming at the Office of the Executive Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission Mr. Olusola Aiyepeku @solaaiyepeku The Chairman, Lagos State Esports Association @esportslagos The Gamr Aftica team @gamr.africa at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

The Executive Chairman LSSC Mr. Olusola Aiyepeku with due acknowledgement for Mr. Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu pledged inhibited support for the growth and development of digital gaming in Lagos State from the grassroots.

The dynamics of digital gaming is such that tournaments can be organized across the IBILE region in Lagos State with full cognizance of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu T.H.E.M.E.S agenda for Lagos State to encourage budding youngsters and veterans fully participate in digital gaming with a wide array of traditional and modern games exploring and maximizing the digital world of gaming.

A partnership and collaboration between the Lagos State Government, Lagos State Sports Commission, Lagos State Esports Association and Gamr Africa is ascertained to create a Gamr Event in 2022 that will bring gamers across the World.

The Gamr Africa has planned activation of gaming centers across Local Governments in Lagos State and creating statewide awareness of the benefits of digital gaming utilizing traditional and digital platforms as a medium of reaching out to the public.

The Lagos State Esports Association Chairperson Mr. Emmanuel Oyelakin is putting finishing touches to having the International Esports Federation games in Lagos come April 2022, the Esports team did great at the recently concluded IESF event in Isreal and has established international affiliations with the World Esports Federation which is a very fantastic collaboration that will bring not only gamers together worldwide but also a feat never been achieved in Nigeria.

Esports and digital gaming is off to major achievements in making Lagos State the sportainment hub in Nigeria, under the full support and encouragement of Mr. Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu led administration.

Esports has to be curated well to get the full commercial benefit by driving the full agenda, it is also a piivot point for gamers to enjoy what they are doing whilst thriving and improving the Digital space.

Other benefits of Esports:

Esports helps with social vices, as it keeps the players busy mentally and physically thereby reducing/curbing the idleness and menace of youths in the society.

Esports tournaments can be held worldwide just like normal games like Olympics, Youth Games and competitions.

Esports helps foster sports bond across the world.

Esports can embody traditional and conventional games, there's no age restriction nor gender bias in virtual gaming.

There are other platforms and new employment opportunities in the Digital space which has not been discovered.

Speaking at the GamrX event AllianceFrancaise Quito the Executive Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission Mr Olusola Aiyepeku reiterated that the @Lagosstategovernment and @Lagosstatesportscommission are fully committed to nurturing, building a most dynamic and sustainable sports ecosystem in Lagos State to encourage , motivate and support the creativity of gamers and all stakeholders in the Digital Gaming space with all available resources and capacity as required.
