The lady was reported to have been inhabiting the spot in the most recent two years. The things were found when the authorities of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC), who needed to utilise the place, attempted to evacuate her. Some members of an undisclosed church in Afikpo local government area of Ebonyi state have allegedly stoned a 60-year-old man, Philip Ugwu, to death. This sad accident happened on Monday, October 10, at Amebo-Ndebo village in Ebonyi. Eyewitnesses claim that the victim who is a resident of the area, popularly called Boxer or Coach, had had an argument with the worshipers over the erection of a fence to demarcate their lands before the incident. “We heard Boxer’s wife screaming that her husband had been attacked by some worshipers and before we could get to the scene, he was lying unconscious. He was immediately rushed to the hospital but his wife identified one of the attackers still with a stone who was immediately apprehended and handed over to the police. The victim’s wife explained that he had purchased and built on the parcel of land even before the church came to lay claim over it,” one of the witnesses said. Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), George Okafor, the Police public relations officer of the command, who confirmed the news, said wife of the deceased, Abani Ugwu, had reported the matter to the police, adding that one Tochukwu Okoh, an evangelist, had been arrested in connection with the incident. He went further to disclose that the deceased’s wife alleged that Okoh and three others attacked her husband with stones, adding that that her husband who could not withstand the attack eventually became unconscious and was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead. The officer also said that the deceased’s body had been deposited in a mortuary and would undergo autopsy, adding that the divisional police officer for the area led a team of detectives and anti-crime patrol officers to the scene and arrested the suspect. “We are currently on the trail of other suspects and I am sure that they will soon be arrested due to the useful information at our disposal.We assure the public that the matter will be investigated thoroughly while the culprits will be duly prosecuted,” he said. The Reader who sent in these photos narrated that the incident happened on the 12th of September, 2016. Narrating what happened, the reader said it took place in a residential building in Abuja. "Residents heard a sound coming from their living room. They ran to the place and found a bullet that had pierced the ceiling. Fortunately, no one was in the sitting room at the time it happened. Although the children that often play in there were home, they were thankfully with their nanny in another part of the house. Anything could have happened, but we thank God for his protection. This is really scary and weird as the bullet obviously must have been shot from someone above the roof considering the force. However, nobody heard any gun shot. A 19-year-old man has been arrested for molesting a young girl in a public place. The young man simply identified as Jelili Afolabi, has been arrested and was arraigned at a Surulere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly r*ping a 16-year-old girl. The prosecutor, Sgt. Anthonia Osanyade, told the court that the accused committed the offence at Konga Meji Ibeshe beach, Lagos, at about 7.30 p.m. on Aug.17. She said the accused invited his victim to a quiet part of the beach and forcefully had s*x with her. Even though The offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2011, The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Ipaye Nwachukwu, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum. She ordered that one of the sureties must be a blood-relation to the accused, and that both sureties should provide evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government. Some 15 students have been arrested in Kenya for engaging in a s*x orgy and weed smoking. According to Standardmedia, the students had been going to a rental house in Kabati estate and were arrested following a tip off from an anonymous person. The victim, Godwin Oyia, was reported dead at about 10:40am on tuesday, after being trapped in his home at No 5 Aborishade close, Lawanson, Surulere. Investigations carried into the case by the Agency's emergency response team at the scene of the incident revealed that a boiling ring being used in the last room on the top floor of the house led to the fire which quickly engulfed the whole building, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA). Sadly, Oyia was burnt to death in the room where the fire had started. Although the whole of the top floor of the building was completely torched, the lower floors were salvaged by the combined efforts of LASEMA, Red cross, the Lagos State Fire Service and Itire division of the Police Force. Oyia's corpse has since been recovered and handed over to the Police.
