Every Ethnic groups in Nigeria needs some Kind of Militia that are not controlled by the government because one can't tell were this country is heading to. War is inevitable, it's either you align with Strong Militia or you create one.
The Fulani has a Militia group, although very deadly and aggressive its capable of protecting the entire ethnic group. They are fighting mainly for the sole reason to have active grazing land for their life stocks. The Nigeria security is yet to achieve more than 1% success against this group.
The Igbo have the IPOB and ESN. Over the years ESN, the security wing of IPOB has become so tactical that the Nigeria Military and police continue to suffer devastating loses against this group with not up to 1% success. It's estimated that IPOB membership is around 50 Million active followers. In every 100 persons, only 5 would deny being sympathetic to the group. The ESN is estimated to have up to 30,000 active men on duty.
The yuroba have the OPC, I don't know much about this group. It's seems to me they are disbanded and cannot protect the ethic group against external aggression.
The Ijaw/SS by right can lay claim to this Asari dokubo's group because it's members comprises of different individuals from the various ethnic groups in the SS. This group is in capable of the defending any ethnicity in the SS because of its diversity.
The Hausa do not have any Militia group, but if they create one, it's would be the biggest Militia group membership wise.
I can't really tell if other ethnic groups in Nigeria has a Militia group? Let me know if you know any!! |

Objectivist04: Not all Abakpa has water , infact more than 50% of Abakpa don't have water talk more of other Nike areas. Someone called on radio from independence layout and I am talking about a senior citizen of this state to say that he buys water from tankers. I am not even talking about trans ekulu , emene, ugwuaji, monarch , Maryland, top land, coal camp etc. It is like you don't know the size of Enugu by saying that there is water in 70% of the city , the areas that have water are still those areas that have been having it just that it is more stable this time around. I repeat it less than 30% of the Enugu city has water This new places you called does not have an existing pathway that was initiated in the 90s, but those with an existing pathway have access to good water... It's just one year in office and the governor is running multiple projects at once.. |

Even most part of independent layout is not covered not to talk about the sprouting parts of emene, Abakpa , Ugwuanyi etc. I bet you less than 30% of enugu metropolis is covered and that is one of his failures after promising six months, thought that is not to say that the governor is not trying but he needs to be called out in areas he fail. Abakpa has water Independent layout has water, Obiagu has water, Thinkers corner has water, camp has water.... Where are you getting your info from? I bet you don't stay in Enugu. I stay in Enugu, that's why I know all this... |

christejames: Lol 😂, and you think Ituku-ozalla is more populated than Obukpa? Nsukka Town that the population keeps increasing as each day passes by? Talk another one...
Mind you, Ituku-ozalla is quite far from Enugu City; about 20 kilometers, that's not an ideal distance to locate a major hospital. That could be one of the reasons Ituku-ozalla is performing below its capacity as against its mates across the country... Take for example, Unilag Teaching Hospital, OAUTH, UITH, ABUTH and a host of others. Ituku-ozalla is just producing doctors they hardly retain them.
Even NAUTH Nnewi, has finally moved to its permanent site, check out the facilities there and compare them to UNTH and you will weep.
And again moving the new university to Nsukka will make Nsukka have two Federal Universities... 😅
The govt has already made the new university to be in Enugu precisely the Dental College, my grouse is the size of the Dental College for a specialized university as this, that's why Ituku-ozalla that has the landmass (about 500 hectares) can serve the purpose for that university with the Dental College being its teaching hospital because it's in the City. It will finally give Enugu East senatorial zone a university balancing each zone.
Hope you are aware Ebonyi state already has their own Federal University of Health sciences? UNTH services Enugu Metropolis, Nkanu West, Nkanu East, Agwu LG and some border part of Udi(20 minutes drive from Enugu Town to UNTH)v. Will you compare the distance to when someone is going from Enugu to Nsukka, would you compare this population to the population it would serve when it's moved to Nsukka. Secondly, the location of UNTH has nothing to do with it performance. Moving it to Nsukka would not make them to perform above what is up tenable now. Talking about retaining Doctors, presently no Nigeria teaching hospitals is retaining it's students. The employment market is already saturated. Since Nsukka already has UNN, they should take the institution to Ezeagu or Udi, they're also part of Enugu and needed to be carried along. |
Politics › Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Localemperor: 4:11pm On Sep 06, 2024 |
christejames: Relax bro, and stop contradicting yourself... Read my post again.
If the teaching hospital is moved to its original place which is at Nsukka they associating departments will follow suit...
It's not about moving the equipment and whatnots from Enugu to Nsukka, like I said initially, the proposed Federal University of Health sciences Enugu can takeover those facilities, just a name change... They are both federal institutions. Instead of limiting themselves to the precinct of the Dental College Enugu that is too small.
As you claim you were in the system, hope you know there is still UNTH at Nsukka (Obukpa precisely) up to this moment but serving as a community outpost for the main UNTH? With a very large expanse of land wasting away, although the lawmakers from Nsukka are planning to make it a Federal Medical Centre but that will be a lose to UNN, that my stand. Why not suggest they move the New federal University of health Science to Nsukka instead of UNTH that is now grounded in Ozalla. Why move a major, number one hospital from a place where it's can be easily accessible to majority of the population to a place with lesser population. The original reason the teaching hospital was moved from Nsukka to Enugu ( Ozalla) is the same reason it's can't be moved back, accessability by majority of the population. There are many reasons beyond political reasons why this will not work. Obukpa was suppose to be the main site but like I told politics and population decided where it would be situated. It is easy to move IMT or Parklane from it present location than UNTH citing congestion as the main reason. |
Politics › Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Localemperor: 10:15am On Sep 06, 2024*. Modified: 10:34am On Sep 06, 2024 |
christejames: UNEC can remain in Enugu, if any other thing should be moved then it's the college of medicine and Health Sciences...
Pharmacy is even in Nsukka Where would Students studying Medicine and Surgery, Med Reb, Dentistry, Radiology, Meb Lab Science, Nursing, Psychology, Anatomy etc go for posting? Or are you suggesting that they take bus every day from Enugu township to Nsukka for posting then come back to UNEC to receive lectures? I was in the system, so I know what I'm telling you. Pharmacy is still in Nsukka because they don't go for posting. Every other medical related courses are in UNEC. Where ever UNTH goes, is where College of Medicine, College of health Science and College of medical science goes. ( They make up 70% of UNEC other faculties are Business Administration, Law and Environmental science ). So in conclusion, you can't move UNTH without moving UNEC. Ask those that graduated UNEC and they will educate you. And do you even know the cost of moving the whole UNTH and College of Medicine, College of medical science and College of health Science to Nsukka They are even federal institutions and not state owned. So the state government can't decide. Dead on arrival |
Politics › Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Localemperor: 6:19am On Sep 06, 2024 |
christejames: One of the few things I like about Mba is his penchant to complete long abandoned projects, I give him kudos there... Enugu has lots of abandoned projects that really need to be brought to life. The 300 bed special hospital is another great one from the govt. Just imagine Chimaroke coveting that magnificent structure for the teaching hospital of his private university before EFCC stepped in.
Speaking about hospitals, I will suggest the proposed Federal University of Health sciences that is planned at the Dental School be moved to a more expansive land in the outskirt like Ituku-ozalla. UNTH should be made a stand alone Federal University of Health sciences (the hospital is too far from the city), maybe the teaching hospital for the school can be move and sited at the Dental School which is inside town.
UNTH itself should then be moved to its original site at Nsukka (UNTH community Health post Obukpa, Nsukka) another expansive site that is currently performing below its capacity.
This will be the best approach to welcome our own Federal University of Health sciences in the state and make it more viable. Bauchi, Osun, Benue and a host of other states now have their own Federal University of Health sciences, making it two federal teaching hospitals in some of those states. UNTH can not be moved to Nsukka, if you want to move UNTH to Nsukka, you will also have to move UNEC to Nsukka because both institutions works hand in hand and in detachable. It is basically impossible anyway. |

Gov Peter Mbah will go down as the best governor Enugu state has ever had. For those people that have had their brother who is a total failure by the way for good eight must be having a hard time try to tarnish the image of this present government.
If your brother was so good and a great performer, why did you fail to elect him to the Senate. You had just one chance to give us a governor when it was your turn after 16 Year and you gave us an under-performer who pays the media huge sum for face lift while the city decay and the effort of Sullivan undo in a short time. Those days when we ask you, you will claim that " He is paying salary", when is paying salary now an achievement? He is doing no one a favor, people deserve a fair pay for working. It's doesn't take much effort to out-do him.
The government of the day is working and it is visible to everyone except those that have decided to be blind oppositions. We will continue to defend Enugu from this naysayers. Enugu must be great again. |
