soundin interrogative.....well dats btw me n God. i respect ur logic bro. freedom of belief.
like every other believer, this question unnerves you people. |
brother u dont believe cuz u have a reason not to believe, i believe cuz i feel his presence n i can relate to him. my whole life is full of 2many testimonies to call natural or concidences. i dont go to church/mosque/shrine e.t.c cuz i dnt need them to reach him..... he lives in me. also i dnt need any religion and all its bias theories, cuz dey get u more confused. feel me?
and this feeling started when? |
brother, ur opinion is clouded by fear instead reality n logic. i shall lay out these theories to make myself clearer. *majority of muslims/christians are attracted by d love of reward(heaven). *majority are locked in these religions due to fear of punishment(hell). cut these two theories n u will be shocked to find out no man would worship God in truth and spirit. religion is simply a mysterious game of reward/punishment. I ONLY BELIEVE IN GOD, NOT ANY RELIGION. feel me?
you only believe 'cos you are afraid. shed your fear and see the light become really free |
maclatunji: Simple question, simple answer.for your simple mind maybe. However none of my questions was answered. |
tbaba1234:make it up as you go along. and those in aeroplanes? |
i can see that a post has been hidden. i wonder why? can't even have a discussion without islamic censorship. |
backwardness is bad |
ea7: if there is free will there should be no hell, after all we can choose what we wantyou have the freewill to choose god only. |
i don't think of it as there is no such force. |
Image123: Frontpage duh, lots more foolish people to stroll in. Thread set to lose it's already sought for essence.Guess how the wise say it. |
How does an islamic astronaut in outer space know which way to face when praying? How many times does he pray as a day in outer space is no longer 24 hours? There is no morning, afternoon, evening or night. |
victorels: Cracking joke with the truth? The consequences could be to night. Watch out.watch out for what exactly? |
fellis: Ouch.thank god for making us more foolish than you. his wisdom is infinite. |
We were never facing each other in the first place we were facing the Kaaba/Mecca! It just seemed so at the start, the point of reference should be Mecca and not ourselves
So my point should be ignored as it doesn't fit into your narative? your religion seems to disagree with you. It requires YOU to face mecca wherever you may be thus making you the point of reference. Imagine finding yourself with someone at the opposite point of mecca on earth and want to pray. you face one way and he faces the other, one of you will surely tell the other one that he was wrong and probably debate or even kill yourselves due to ignorance. I will open another thread soon about how stupid this whole facing mecca thing is. stay tuned. |
Image123: i'm sorry i have to deny you again. i do not know what you're saying. Can you bring up Bible verses, AND your point?you as a christian should know the verses or are you spoon fed by your pastor? |
Sweetlemon: Check ALL the religious threads here, that will answer your question. Me? Shallow? How about someone who goes around every talking and talking and talking and yelling and yelling and screaming about what he doesn't even believe indo you need a mat? |
logicboy: when did u become a christian apologist?they went into hiding. Someone had to say something bro ![]() |
victorels: I jurney into a world of light in my childhood where everyone is as bright as the sun. I couldn't recorganise any face but a joyful song is always heard. It confirms that I am more than natural and I am an image of God. It also let me know that I look like God in the glory of the spiritual for God is not a man but a SPIRIT so asking me how God looks like is a stupid question. As for what you Atheist produce, yes you are ment to produce them because you are our sarvants and must work hard to get it right to our taste. Atheism is not a religeon and have no message to preach. So all these pity card you are playing is useless.Did you hit your head on something or was your papa smoking igbo in your presence? |
Odin MacThor: I think I was born Atheist, 'cause as far back as I can remember, I never had that 'zeal' for religion. During my primary school days, we said the angelus every 12pm, had forced bible lesson after school, then when I got home on Mondays, was dragged to 'fellowship' at church. Meanwhile in my heart I always felt they were trying too hard to 'catch me young'.All men are born with a nose and ten fingers, but no one was born with a knowledge of God. - Voltaire |
Does it changes anything? Ok the shortest distance between two points on earth is the shortest arc! Happy now. The original straight line I used earlier was what we used to use in spartial analysis and town planing. But none the less, how many north pole would there be from my previous example?
Do you agree then that at some point, people facing mecca will be facing away from each other? |
For argument sake let's assume the Kaaba was on the north pole, any body facing northwards with a litle tilt eastwards or westwards depending on your position would be facing the north pole - our hypothetical Kaaba. Be you at the tropic of cancer or capricon there will always be one north - north pole- Kaaba - qibla. I hope you get it. The golden rule is the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, use that and you will always get your qibla. Now you will have to tell us which country are having the problem of two qibla and prove that there are two qiblas, other wise your claim will remain a hypothetical guesswork at best.
The highlighted shows your confusion and therein lies the problem. None of you face mecca in a straight line. If you are facing a straight line, the you are facing outer space because once again, the earth is not flat. Change your golden rule and use the formula by tbaba1234. You lot face mecca following an arc, not a stright line! And once again, it's not about distance but direction. |
Abeg make una let logic mind be, ok oga illogic mind when flying to Lagos from Kano instead of going southwards through kaduna, Niger, Abuja ogun and then Lagos for 30,000 naira, you can go northwards from Kano through Niger, Mali, Algeria, Europe, north pole, Asia, south china sea, Australia, south pole, south Africa, central African republic and then Lagos. I guess that's cheaper and more logical? ![]() Dude get off whatever you are smooking, if I say face north, in your reverse reasoning since the earth is spherical then any one facing north is actually facing south? Common man read what your username says and act it.
Although you asked me to ignore this post, i feel obliged to reply. It is not about money or distance but about direction. If the earth is flat, you can only face mecca on one direction. If the earth is round you can face mecca in two directions (not really facing but looping through an arc) and on a point opposite mecca, you can face it in any direction. So your mentor thought the earth was flat, and you still pray with the assumption you can only face it in one direction thus also assuming it was flat. |
Sorry logic mind ignore my previous post I get your point from the quote above. U see when you look at people preying in Mecca around the Kaaba they form a circle around it(ie those at the south of it face north, those at the north face south, those at the west of ot face east and those at the east face west, in ESSENSE they form a ring arround the Kaaba) now imagine this ring expanding globally the same still holds ie those south of Mecca(where the Kaaba is) face north and those north face south and on and on. So the Kaaba is just a reference point, I hope you get it now You can use this rule, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. So let every one face the direction which optimises this rule.
At last, someone is seeing sense. So continue to imagine this ring expanding. Aftet crossing the mid-point of earth, it will start to contract and converge and all those people who were facing each other at first will be facing away from each other (while still "facing" mecca), until they reach a point where it doesn't matter which way they face, they'll still be "facing" mecca. |
carry go presido zombies must be treated like zombies god said it |
Sweetlemon: So you love us religious people so much that you are so committed to amusing us on EVERY threadrun run run |
paladin86: Maybe who knows, though I definitely don't believe them to look like; what we see in paintings or movies lolSo how do you know what they look like? |
Sweetlemon: The point, my dear, is that you guys are on EVERY SINGLE religious thread including those without any mention of atheists talking and talking and talking and screaming and screaming and yelling and yellin about something you don't even believe in! And that, my dear is why laff-wan-increase-d-size-of-my-bottom!At least we a proving useful in amusing you. What are you useful at? |
good for you op. was it a one time decision or did it gradually wear off? Mine was very gradual. Took me more than twenty years. Nairaland removed all doubts in january this year. Praise da lawd! |
Sweetlemon: I have a question for you guys. Since u don't believe in God can u pls tell us why u guys are always hanging around the religion section of this forum? You comment on each and every single religious post on d forum. After all atheism is a disbelief in the existence of God so it is NOT a religion right? So why this strong desire to stalk others who believe in God, and talk and talk and talk about your disbelief? A true atheist should be ignoring and avoiding anything with God in it! Please answer straight to the point. Thank uwe hang here to fight the evil that is religion. And we are winning. That's why they are avoiding us. Even muslims have taken to hiding in their section and banning everthing unislamic. So if you can't stand us, go and hide or better still send your god to fight us as you are not up to the task. |
this one pass holy ghost fire |
Sweetnecta: if logic mind is in kano and he wants to drive to lagos, will it not be enough that he starts by southward and tilting ever so slightly to his right as if going to republic of Benin? If he does that and says so long to his friend, the friend will not announce that logic mind is heading to Niger republic. Is it too hard for you muslims to imagine or can't you accept scientific evidence like the christians already did? If you are trying to do damage control, you are taking it the wrong way. Let's say I want to fly to lagos in a straight line from the north, I will go the direction you indicated but I can also decide to go the opposite direction and still end up in lagos. Because the earth is ROUND! We go round. Whenever we travel, we go in an arc. Your arguments makes sense if and only if the earth is not round. Unfortunately for you, earth is round. Not flat, not a cone. Round like a ball. Take mecca as the mid point ont top. everyone from the equator upwards will be facing mecca if they look northwards. But people below the equator, especially those closest to the bottom will be looking at mecca from different directions and facing away from each other. It really is so simple I can't understand your incomprehension. There is a point in the pacific where if you are on a boat, you could face any direction and still be facing mecca. Think about it and please conclude that whoever told you to face mecca did think that the earth was flat. |
