Romance / Re: How Do You Define An Independent Woman?. by lola009: 12:45pm On Nov 08, 2014
I think an independent woman is a woman who has her own source of income, and doesn't depend on her partner fully but is not ashamed to ask for help when she needs it. This also means that she is willing and happy to help her partner when the time comes.
freecocoa:
So I created this thread to get better views on who/what people think/believe an independent woman is/should be. A lady (firstEva) talked about her boyfriend having two cars yet she has to 'trek' about town, asking if it isn't selfish of him not to give her one, now I see nothing wrong in her wanting to share her boyfriend's car, only thing is, she didn't ask but almost everyone sounded like she committed a heinous crime for even just harboring the thought of ever using his car, shior! shocked.

I believe an independent woman is one who can take care of herself but that doesn't mean she can't ask her man for stuffs when she needs it and ofcourse he gets to do same.

I'm only asking because from what I read yesterday, people sounded like an Independent woman is one who doesn't ask her man for anything whatsoever, I come dey wonder, if I can share my body, my time, my brain, my energy etc with my man, what then is a 'ducking' car?

By your suggestion, does it mean I can't change to my old date?
beau49:
Go to court so you can be issued an affidavit after swearing that the new date is the real date but you would be required to pay a token amount.

OR

You go meet those who forge birth certs or any hospital if they can issue a new birth certificate for you showing the new date.

If I were you I would pick the first suggestion. Goodluck!

Education / I Have A Wrong Birth Month In My Birth Certificate And Other Documents. by lola009: 3:29am On Nov 08, 2014
Hello guys, I have a complicated issue here and I hope I get suggestions or advice on it. On my birth certificate, I have the wrong birth month/date and this has been updated to my passport, university certificates and other important documents. I'm worried because I do celebrate my birthday on a different date and month while my certificate says something different. I know this sounds silly and there will be questions like how come and why wait till now? Right now, I'm really desperate to rectify this because I don't want this to affect me in future or cause any confusions. Please nairalanders, what do you suggest I do? I await your candid opinions. Thank you

Can u imagine how heartless they re? Oh was he given an option of 250k or 750? I saw 250k in the papers.
quote author=horlatunde]Dis Man ought to die by firing squared.
Let do little mathematical calculation of
hw much he stole.
With dat #23billion, and he decides to
spend #1million every day it will take
him 63years to finish d money... Let's
calculate
365days = 1year
365 days * 63years=22995days
22995 days * 1million per
day=22995000000(22billion nine
hundred and ninety-five million)
remaining 5million 4 his burial wen he
die.
So therefore, if he spends half a million
every day, it will take me 63years * 2 =
126year.
U can see hw devilish dis pple cud be.....
And u bail such a person with 750k
only dats ridiculous man.
Can u imagine? If I were him, I'd go to jail come out and embezzle another 46billion naira and go to jail for 4 years since the judicial system in Nigeria has lost it sanity. I weep for this visionless and lawless nation called Nigeria. It should be rephrased as LIEgeria like a friend of mine would always say.

Thanks. Of course I know that's not a guarantee. Even people who graduate with a distinction in first class are still on the line. I guess it just gives one an edge over the others. Thanks for the info again. smiley

That's a very good result and it's the minimum requirement for most companies here. Several opportunities are open to peeps with such a grade, however that doesn't mean it's a guaranteed meal ticket.

Oh okay ecolime. How good is that for the labour market?
ecolime: That's a GP of 4.36 on a scale of 5. Second class upper.

Okay I got it now. Thanks Doneze and Starflux. I'm new on here so my knowledge of how things work on NL is poor. lol

What kind of medicine, just general medicine profession study? If so, I'm not sure if it's offered to international students. I'll have to find out.
I think you can already apply actually, the deadline is december 1st. The only school fee is semester fee which is 8000-16000 naira, and that's it.

Lola009
THERE IS NO TUITION FEE IN NORWEGIAN UNIVERSITIES (EXCEPT FROM THE PRIVATE OWNED ONES, WHICH I WILL NOT MENTION IN THIS THREAD.

The only thing you need to worry about is the required fund to apply for a student visa. You need around 2-2,5million naira to apply for it. The money IS NOT A PAYMENT, the money will go straight to your Norwegian bank account after accepted visa.

Here's examples of a master's programme in psychology:
http://www.uio.no/english/studies/programmes/psychology-master/
http://www.ntnu.edu/studies/mpsy

NTNU info is a bit lacking, but don't be put off, it's one of the best universities in Norway along with UiO.
Education / Re: Has Anyone Applied To Any Norwegian University For Since Application Started? by lola009: 11:16am On Jan 28, 2013
Thanks Starflux for the info. NTNU, however does not offer any courses in Psychology. I sent you an email in regards to that. I guess the courses for masters degree are offered in English yea? I appreciate your kindness. God bless.

That's okay anyway. I know it doesnt guarantee employment. Just wanted to know the conversion. Thanks a lot.

Hullo friends, pls I want to know what the UTME and POST-JAMB cut off mark is for the 2013 admission for MASS COMMUNICATION IN UNILORIN. What is the admission process like? Is it based on the cut off mark or does one still have to bribe his way through? Urgent answers needed pls. Thanks.
Education / Re: Has Anyone Applied To Any Norwegian University For Since Application Started? by lola009: 10:56am On Jan 27, 2013
Hi pls can you help me sought if there are tuition free schools for master degree program in Psychology? I will really appreciate this effort if you can help. Thanks.
StarFlux: "All universities/schools in Norway are tuition free, apart from the private owned ones, which I will not link here. The only thing you need to pay is a semester fee, which varies from 8000-16000 Naira every 6 months.

Yes, I am on facebook. Send me a PM and we can sort it out. I highly recommend NTNU, it is one of the best universities in Norway, and I am starting there myself this august.

Here you can take a look at the different Norwegian courses: http://www.ntnu.edu/studies/international/norsk_kurs/norwegian_as_2nd_app.php
(I recommend 10 month the most). If you are dedicated, you will manage to get a good grasp of the language. Taking one of these courses fufills the Norwegian language admission requirements, so you can apply for your bachelor.

Note of importance: to apply for the IFUS program, you will have to wait until october. IFUS is basically language course and then straight to your bachelor at the same university. Semester course is not guaranteed admission to your prefered programme (which IFUS guarantees). But if you want to study now, the semester course MIGHT be the better choice for you. But if you want the semester course at NTNU, (as far as I know) you will need a Norwegian ID card first to apply. That is a lot of hassle, so I recommend that you take it elsewhere, but that means you won't be at NTNU the whole time. Alternatively, you don't even have to attend a university to learn the language, but you will need to take a language proficiency test when applying, so you need a course regardless, but that could be anywhere. Plus, if you are an exchange student, you can take the semester course VERY EASILY, but you need to be an exchange student.

Overall, I do recommend that you take the bachelor at Høgskolen i Ålesund or apply for IFUS in october, because it will be much easier for you. Forget that I recommended the semester course, unless you are an exchange student. Master you can take anywhere beucase they are offered in English.

Thought I do know certain universities gives you an additional year, where you learn the language before attending your bachelor (different from IFUS). So far, I don't know if NTNU offers this. I will see if I can find out more.

(The English versions are not as detailed, so don't be put off if it doesn't look very profressional!)

There are more of these international relations (for the most part called "international studies" or "internasjonale studier" in Norwegian), but I have to find them manually. OK, there are quite a few that are not available to international students. UiO does not offer the course to international students, sadly. There are many master's degrees in international studies that you can apply for, but since you need a bachelor, that's not an option. I'm sorry if the results are dissapointing. But this is what I found after over an hour of searching. (It's late now, but I will look for more when I wake up).

What is important to note is that some universities, such as NTNU, allow you to apply for the regular bachelor programmes as long as you can prove your proficiency, while some universities don't. That is why I will do some more research to find out which universities allows for this. Though for now, it seems like your only hope is HiL.

As with Achu442 here, you will most likely need a course in Norwegian for most of these bachelors.

As always, if anyhting is unclear, let me know and I will try to resolve the issue. And I want to undermine that I do not know much about the language courses, please send the universities an e-mail where you can ask questions about the courses they offer and the easiest way possible to complete one, because it might be easier than explained above.

Bear with me as I try to find the easiest way for you to complete a course.

Update: So far, it seems like most universities should be able to offer than one extra year when you have applied for a bachelor that requires proficiency in Norwegian.
