justwise:Very silly comment! So you chose not to read through or to ignore the rest of what I sad. Typical of you. You see, it is the same species as you in South Africa that caused this blood shed. By inciting violence you are behaving the same way as the xenophobic people over here. |
This is just ridiculous! In three days there has not been reports of violence against foreign nationals in SA yet we get conflicting responses by other African states as if SA is ablaze. I'm yet to see images of Nigerians who have fallen victims of these barbaric attacks. Nigerians stop blowing this thing out of proportion. You keep claiming and generalising that all South Africans are stupid, uneducated and immoral yet many of your loved ones are here, in the land of "the stupid" for "greener pastures". Look, I am 100% against the killing and intimidation of any foreign national but the response from Nigerians back home in Nigeria is sickening. I hope this did not only draw criticism to SA but I'll be glad if it were to highlight some of the challenges Nigeria has. It is good for me as a South African citizen to host foreigners and share my culture with but again if Nigerians are leaving their country in such great numbers someone needs to be concerned. Something is very wrong over there. The Ghana you chose to forcefully remove from Nigeria back then is now doing better than most African states. Could this be seen as a taste of your own medicine? |
Really? Is that how you feel out South Africans? Let me tell you something here: I am a proud South African and I believe that not all Nigerians are bad. Not all Nigerians are drug dealers, arrogant and 419 scammers. I believe Nigeria is a very powerful nation, rich in oil and culture and so many natural resources. Nigeria is diverse, peaceful and warm. I love Nigeria. In fact I believe in the near future Nigeria will have a good reputation, good infrastructure and good power supply. I believe soon enough people in power will get tired of looting and start working towards bettering the lives of Nigerian citizens. That's just how I feel. |
[quote author=lolly2pops post=32914460]I am a South African woman married to a Nigerian brother. The attacks you see today are barbaric and heartless but symptomatic too. It is factual that so many things are not in order in our country. It's not an issue of today. The ruling party knows it well. It started way back in the days of struggle when they formed the freedom charter which basically is the promise made to the natives of South Africa by ANC. The charter has so many goodies including Freedom of Speech, Movement, Education, Healthcare, Shelter and so many others. My mind tells me is it the same charter which has played a major role today in terms of how an ordinary South African reasons. On the other hand we have dysfunctional borders and corruption which has seen so many especially in the SADEC region migrating unlawfully to South Africa. The government knows exactly what the problem is, hence their sluggish response to the killings the world has been witnessing. We are yet to see the prosecution of those involved in the 2008 xenophobic killings. They have still not put systems in place to regulate movements in and out of the country. They can not learn from Botswana because they refuse to do so. Now they only rely on the illiterate voter on the ground to do evil about the situation they can easily sort out as the ruling party. My lack, hunger and poverty as a South African doesn't warrant me to kill. These killings are unjustifiable. As for the drug dealers and 419/491 scammers whatever it's called: may the wrath of the law be upon you.. |
