Old man Chino born in 1970s still behaving like a baby. Truth cannot be wished away by mere imagination so grow up and find something better doing with your time. Southeast best developed cities are

1 Enugu
2 Owerri
3 Aba
4 Onitsha
5 Abakaliki

None of these cities is befitting and what every sane Igboman or Nigerian wants is for them to be like their counterparts in Europe and Asia not this mediocre we are seeing today. I pray Otti succeeds in upgrading Aba to serve as example for everyone that it's possible but for now I'm watching.

No place without public water supply system should be seen as a modern city.
I think Enugu and Onitsha have public water supply system.
Abakaliki has because Dave Umahi built one.

All the too many ghettos of concrete houses now springing up in the rural communities around Owerri - ghettos without a single social amenity in Naze, Egbu, Ofurola, Ejemeekwuru, Ezi Obodo, Avu, Obinze, Uratta, Irete, etc. As you join them to Old and New Owerri which has govt social infrastructures, you take aerial shots of Owerri and come online with Owerri mega city. Fake. It will take another 100 years before IMSG completes provision of social amenities to these concrete ghettos surrounding Old and New Owerri. For IMSG to provide social amenities in those concrete ghettos, there shall be nothing left to provide social amenities in other towns of Imo state outside Owerri zone. That's why it's only a stupeed gov who provides social amenities in only state capital hoping to build a befitting state capital before attention is given to other urban towns and rural areas in the state. As he provides for only state capital, he draws more and more population to the state capital. It continues unending.
Imo state has been buried in its state capital.

We are all igbos. Let’s tell ourselves the bitter truth. Imo state is yet to have a befitting state capital. What imo has now as a capital is a total shame. Weatheral road is the only road in Owerri and that’s only road people show as Owerri, while 90% of the town is in a shambolic mess and unplannlessness. Looking at Owerri reminds of a Stone age. You now see the reason why most imo indigenes are running to Onitsha, Awka and Enugu to live and invest .

There is nothing like befitting capital. It is a fraud and cheat phrase that exists in the minds of only Owerri people. Don't be deceived here. There is no place in the constitution of Nigeria where it's written that a state capital must have more govt infrastructures than the other places in the same state.

Paris, Rome, Kaduna, are still under construction.
It's the criminal action in Imo state that makes other parts of Imo state wait until befitting capital is built in Owerri, before social amenities start to be located or built in other parts of Imo state.
Example: Owerri has all the federal government housing estates in Imo state. Next time, Owerri will still lobby for new federal government housing estates for Imo state be built in Owerri. This is criminal act that has gone on for years unnoticed, unchallenged because govs from Orlu zone are infested with the disease of Owerri to build befitting state capital.

If anyone tells them that state gov is supposed to provide social infrastructures commensurately for all the urban and rural towns in Imo state, they reply that gov must provide infrastructures to only Owerri because Owerri is capital city. Bush men mentality!

Origin of this Imo one city - Owerri - is because Owerri people do not share cultural and dialect relationship with people in Orlu and Okigwe zones. Owerri shares culrure and dialect relationship with Ikwerre in Rivers state. So for Owerri people, it's grab, grab and run with every govt devt institution for Imo state for location in Owerri zone.

It is the same criticism that we are doing even here too.

We want to know why Owerri is still a glorified village?

We want to know why Owerri flyover is not functioning?

We want to know why Owerri ICC collapsed despite huge commission fanfare?

We want to know why most imo indigenes prefer to live in Onitsha, Enugu, Awka than living in Owerri.

These are pertinent questions

Bolded. They have again cajoled the Imo gov to build another flyover in Assumpta junction where a big rondo or traffic lights would better traffic. Waste of money that should have saved human lives in other places in Imo State where floods yearly carry away humans due to unavailable urban drainage network. Primitive, heartless set of people who foolishly believe that flyover is sign of mega city.

Mr government waiter,

You are here shouting why people are buying lands and building in Orlu and okigwe as we speak.
If imolites had given in to your likes who derided Owerri for building only hotels, do you think we would be having a conversation of a city to be proud of in the east?
Now you are about Imo building only Owerri, forgetting that the sudden attention Owerri has generated, have made prices of lands and even on the outskirts of the city very exorbitant, pushing builders to other zones/LGA.

The best way to build a state is systematically, else you have pockets of disorganized cities in a state with little or no area for Agriculture, power plants, Refineries etc

Bolded. The evil suggestion by Owerrians to then gov Okorocha: "let IMSG first build us a Dubai-like capital city in Owerri, future governors will take care of Okigwe and Orlu." That is the suggestion you rephrased in the bolded above. Thunder will fire all of you with this mentality.
If Roman emperors had waited until they built Rome to the highest, but abandoned London, Paris, Damascus etc, people of England, France, Syria, etc of the Roman empire would have revolted against Rome.

Owerri lands are more fertile and used to be the agricultural basin of Imo state. You now sell the lands of Owerri for people of Orlu and Okigwe zones to come to settle in Owerri.
So far, Owerri has been enjoying Orlu zone governors who have no idea of how to build a state.

Eventually they found good partner in this governor who is anti-Orlu, anti Isu clan, anti Ideato. The gov has disactivated IMSUTH. Flyover in Assumpta round about Owerri is a project borne out of malice.
Flyover is built in high speed road junctions for reversing directions. Roundabout or traffic lights are used for traffic control inside city centre
No trained town planner would build Flyover in city centre like this Assumpta round about.

Uzodinma is doing the useless flyover in Assumpta round about Owerri to say ntoor to Ideato/Orlu where floods due to uncontrolled urban drainage kill people, and the Orlu-Akokwa road remains non navigable.

But hopefully, gov Hope Uzodinma was able to understudy Edo State's Central Security Control System.
So that he returns to Imo and dismantle the military checkpoints he deployed to many street junctions in Orlu, if he doesn't want more people to know that he is behind the insecurity that he started there as vendetta against his old political opponents who hail from Orlu local government area. Use of army checkpoints where his Ebubeagu frequently exchange gunfire with soldiers to scare people from coming to Orlu or living in Orlu.

Sit at home still goes on in Orlu despite Uzodinma's armed soldiers in many street junctions in Orlu.

Bros, you try.

The travelers arrived Orlu town centre - Tijani Street by Awoidemilli Street and Oleme Road junction. They didn't know where they were until they asked a bystander. They also asked for where Nkwo Ito roundabout is, whereas they drove past that roundabout some three minutes before then.
After getting direction from the bystander, they headed straight to old Owerri road dualized halfway by Okorocha govt, reached Carwash by Teaching hospital junction on the road. From there, they turned towards one long street built during Udenwa govt which connects Building materials market in New Owerri road, the road reconstructed by Uzodinma's govt. Next, they were on the federal road in Nkwerre and Nwangele local government areas.

They wouldn't know the all dilapidated inner streets of Orlu. I mean the wrecked urban roads in the area from Building materials market to carwash to Urban secondary school to Imo poly campus/Bishop Shanahan and Catholic Cathedral, and roads from that area to Orlu town centre. People living in these clustered areas in Orlu are passing through hell of wrecked urban roads in Orlu.

Depends on location.
In Imo state, it's less than N300,000 in Owerri area.
In Orlu area, it costs more than N1.5million to strike ground water beneath the aquifer due to the topography of the area.

Oyibo provided treated pipe borne water in Orlu area, but none functions since the mid 1990s.
Unfortunately, people from this Orlu area have governed Imo state mostly since 1999. Each of them has been busy fighting the predecessor. The present governor from the zone has even destroyed or disactivated government infrastructures in the principal city of the zone because he perceives old political foes from there.

The stadiums were built in memory of Sam Okwaraji.

A bitter contest for senate seat took place in 2011 between former gov Udenwa from Orlu local government area and Hope Uzodinma from Oru East local government area

The first things destroyed by Hope Uzodinma's Ebubeagu in Orlu are the sports stadium renovated by Udenwa govt and the local government secretariat. Ebubeagu then asked people to relocate from Orlu as they videod the destructions.
Only a nitwit would believe that IPOB did these destructions.
Next: Ebubeagu went and bombed Orlu High court built by Udenwa govt. Who expects IPOB to bomb Orlu High court?
Uzodinma closed down the bombed high court, built a similar court in his Oru East home town, Omuma.
Uzodinma disactivated Imo state university teaching hospital in Orlu, built a big hospital in his Omuma hometown.

Uzodinma demolished the fire service station renovated by Udenwa govt in Orlu.
