On the other hand, Hazard isn't really a player that works well as a winger in a 4231 tactic to begin with. However, he's got the will and sheer brilliance to take his performance to another level and win games especially when he sees a chance of his team winning a title/cup as shown by his Lille performances. That's why majority of pundits always say "Hazard always plays when he wants to".

Just look at his performance against Spurs for example. He said he was going to stop Spurs from winning the league and many people laughed in his face because he's been out of forms for months and lo, behold, he was something else in that game.

Another thing is he was also helped with the way Mourinho packed his midfield around January because it more or less became a 3-man midfield and that gave him the space and opportunity to often rom around and do his thing. Mourinho never knew this though because if he knew, he woulda employ the same tactic to bring out his best.

I stated on here many times that a 442 tactic with 2-man midfield without a Kante/Keane/Koke kind of player in there hardly work out against decent opposition. However, some coaches compensate for that by having a hardworking workhorse SS, such as Welbeck, a prime Rooney or Okazaki to constantly pressurise the opponent like Welbeck did against Madrid or Okazaki did many time for Leicester.

But yesterday, it was a certain a lazy lethargic Slimani that was deployed in the SS role..

It's tedious trying to reason with people on here. Simple things that are hardly difficult to understand, you spend hours trying to make them to..
