This table which shows how the capital projects in the 2016 budget was spread across the six geopolitical region was shared by Channelstv on Monday, August 29th. What are the grounds for making one region receive over 270 billion naira for projects and another region receives less than 29 billion naira in the same country. It seems to me the current govt. is really keeping to it's words that some people are the 95% while the others the the 5%. This is totally unacceptable. Manchester United’s new signing Paul Pogba is suspended for his side’s Premier League opener at Bournemouth on Sunday, England’s Football Association announced on Friday. The 23-year-old France midfielder was booked twice while playing for Juventus in last season’s Coppa Italia, incurring a one-game ban that has been transferred to England. Having only just returned from his holidays after Euro 2016, Pogba was doubtful to feature against Bournemouth anyway. Pogba returned to United earlier this week in a reported 89 million pounds (105 million euros, $116 million) deal that made him the world’s most expensive player. He left United for Juventus in 2012. In an exclusive interview with The Sun, popular veteran Nollywood actress, Eucharia Anunobi, has talked on the challenges of being born-again in the movie industry and reiterated her determination to act in daring role which might be against her new found faith. Below are excerpts from the chat; As a born again, how do your colleagues relate with you?: I remember years ago when I gave my life to God, my colleagues were laughing at me. ‘Your mates are busy doing aristo, your mates are busy seeing governors, your mates are busy going to the clubs in Victoria Island, Ikeja, and everywhere, you sey na church you wan go’. They used to say that ‘something is wrong with Eucharia’. ‘Can you imagine with all her degrees, and doctorate in waiting, na to go church?’ But today, by the grace of God, where I sit they can’t sit; where I go they can’t go. I sit with governors and presidents not for aristo, and not for someone to take me to a corner of a room to sleep with me. I am not among the superstars they would say, ‘that one get good shape, go corner her for hotel for me’ and they come and meet you only in the night. They don’t need to take me to any corner of the room through Personal Assistant. They call me to the lobby of the governor or president’s chapel to pray and declare the word of God Almighty. And when I am done, they shake my hands and say, ‘lay hands on me’. What kept you going and how did you pull through?: The bible says, ‘show me your friend and I will tell you who you are’. My good friend, Peter Ononiwu knew me back then. He saw my tears as I was crying. He said ‘do you know that you are a very beautiful girl with a fine shape? ‘You can start modelling’. It was Peter that introduced me to modelling. That was how I started modelling. Modelling has gone down; it was at that time that modelling was on. There was no modelling show they did that I was not on the front burner. It was then I discovered that God gave me a good shape. It was then I discovered I had a unique face. You know, people call me ‘the ancient lady’, ‘Philippians lady’ or ‘Chinese lady’ because of my face and small eyes and because I have unique features. So, when any fashion designer saw me, he or she would pick me because of God’s glory upon my life, and because I started seeking God early. It was the denouncement of my father that, he’s not going to send me or any other girl to university or higher institution that made me seek God early. After that, I started modelling. But I was determined in myself that, if my father said a girl can be nothing, then I would prove him wrong. I said to myself ‘I am not a mistake of creation’. ‘There is a reason God made me a female’. As an evangelist, do you still accept scripts like Ashawo (Prostitute)?: If they give me the one of Ashawo, I will do. But then, I’m not going to smoke, because I don’t smoke in real life, and I’m not going to drink. I can simulate, for instance, like in drinking, but then, I might not wear clothes that will reveal parts of my body. There is one I did with Mama Patience, we went to rob a bank; there’s a film we went to rob a bank. We were carrying AK-47; the gun is heavy o! The title of the movie is Widow’s Gang. The new leader of Boko Haram is the son of the group's founder, according to a Boko Haram insider. Abu Musab al-Barnawi is about 25 years old and the second son of Mohammed Yusuf, who founded the group in 2002, the source told CNN. Mohammed Yusuf was captured and executed after a clash with Nigerian security forces in 2009. The insider said there was a split in the ranks of the Boko Haram terror group three months ago, which led to Barnawi, known as Habib Yusuf within the group, to leave the Sambisa forest where Boko Haram are believed to be hiding out. He re-emerged this week after he was introduced as the new leader of the terrorist sect in an interview in the ISIS' magazine al-Naba. Boko Haram has long had links with ISIS, pledging allegiance to the group in March. Even though Barnawi is now supposedly the leader of Boko Haram, the source told CNN that the group's long-time leader Abubakar Shekau still has the larger number of followers in the Sambisa forest and crucially has control of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls. The schoolgirls are seen as a powerful bargaining chip for the terrorist group, whose base has been significantly weakened. Western intelligence sources close to negotiations believe, however, that the defection of manpower and erosion of support leaves Shekau more exposed and could possibly lead to a breakthrough in the search for the abducted girls. The Boko Haram source told CNN that Barnawi was Boko Haram's head of armory before he fell out with Shekau and left with some followers. The source said: "Shekau is seen as erratic and disorganized and Habib didn't agree with a lot of his decisions anymore." According to the source, Barnawi left the base in the Sambisa with another Boko Haram commander, Mamman Nur, who is suspected by Nigerian authorities of carrying out the 2011 bombing of the UN building in the country's capital, Abuja. In 2011, Barnawi's mother and elder brother were killed in a bombing in Kano, the source said. Adding to the confusion, Abubakar Shekau broke his silence Wednesday. He challenged the new leadership announcement in a 10-minute audio message posted on YouTube to let everyone know he was "still around." The Central Bank of Nigeria has suddenly changed its policy toward money transfer operators, effectively blocking many services used by Nigerians to send money to and from the country. The decision to revoke the licenses of all but three money transfer companies was backed by a warning, issued on Tuesday, that advises Nigerians at home and abroad to "beware of the unwholesome activities of some unlicensed International Money Transfer Operators." Citing "the greater economic good of Nigeria," the Central Bank stated that it will "not condone any attempt aimed at undermining the country's foreign exchange regime." 'Draconian' rules The sudden move has created immediate backlash because it affects a large volume of money. Remittances to Nigeria totaled about $20.8 billion in 2015, according to data from Global Knowledge Partnership on Migration and Development. WorldRemit is an online money transfer service that launched in 2011 and one of the companies affected by the edict. It released a statement calling the new rules "draconian" and noted that the new policy would leave only three companies able to function: Western Union, MoneyGram and Ria. Those companies have physical operations on the ground in Nigeria. "This move is arbitrary, inexplicable and hugely detrimental to the Nigerian diaspora, who rely on hundreds of money transfer companies and banks, providing them with choice, convenience and competitive pricing," said WorldRemit founder and CEO Ismail Ahmed. No explanation Ahmed said while Western Union used to control 78% of the transfers to Nigeria, now it controls less than 20%. Ahmed, whose company says it sends 40,000 money transfers to Nigeria each month and handles about $20 billion a year in remittances for various countries including Nigeria, also laments the lack of clarity surrounding the change. "This is the first time in my 20 years of experience that a regulator is saying if you want to send money to Nigeria, you have to physically come to Nigeria and set up a company," Ahmed said. "On Monday evening, Nigeria simply shut down transfers. The banks told us they couldn't process our transfers. The country was one of the most competitive markets until Monday." He added, "This is extreme. It's going to be quite explosive among the Nigerian diaspora." CNN has contacted the Central Bank but has not received a reply. Known as the Dream Team VI, Nigeria is in Group B alongside Colombia, Japan and Sweden, as they aim to go one better than the silver medal they won at the 2008 Beijing Olympic games and recreate history like in 1996 when they became the first African country to win a football GOLD. Led by Coach Samson Siasia, the team qualified for this competition winning the African U-23 Nations Cup held in Senegal in 2015. They earned automatic qualification beating the hosts 1-0 in the semi-finals before going on to secure a 2-1 victory against Algeria in the final. Nigeria will play it’s first game of the Olympics against Japan on Friday (2am Nigerian time), although the team is still stranded in Atlanta, USA over travel logistical issues, following the non-prompt payment of their chartered flight to Manaus, Brazil. John Mikel Obi and Daniel Akpeyi are the only two over-aged players named in the squad for this tournament with the Chelsea midfielder taking over Team Captain duties from Azubuike Okechukwu. Match Schedule: Nigeria is about five hours ahead of Manaus and four hours ahead of Sao Paulo in Brazil where the group stage fixtures will be taking place. This means that all the games will take place late at night or early in the morning by Nigerian time. Here’s the full group stage schedule for Dream Team VI: Nigeria vs Japan Date: Friday, 5 August – 2am Venue: Amazônia Arena City: Manaus Sweden vs Nigeria Date: Sunday, 7 August – 11pm Venue: Amazônia Arena City: Manaus Colombia vs Nigeria Date: Wednesday, 10 August – 11pm Venue: Corinthians Arena City: Sao Paulo Key Players Watch out for assistant team captain Okechukwu who was named the best player at the U-23 nations cup. This is the biggest stage for him and he is expected to be the fulcrum of the team once more. Mikel will no doubt bring his wealth of experience in midfield while Akpeyi, who now plies his trade in South Africa, has been drafted in to provide solid cover in goal. Forwards Ajayi Oluwafemi and Etebo Oghenekaro are also set to play key roles in the team’s attack. Coach – Samson Siasia Siasia is no stranger to age-grade competitions after leading different Nigerian football teams to 2nd place finishes at the Holland 2005 U-20 World Cup and the Olympic games in Beijing eight years ago. The 48-year-old will be keen to finally win the top prize and somewhat repair his damaged reputation after he was fired as Super Eagles Boss in 2011 with Nigeria failing to qualify for the 2012 African Cup of Nations under his watch. Olympic History This is Nigeria’s 7th appearance in the football event at the Olympics and they are first African team to have won the Gold Medal after famous wins over Brazil and Argentina 20 years ago at the Atlanta games. The Dream Team IV came close in 2008 but ultimately fell short after Angel Di Maria’s second half strike claimed victory for the Albicelestes. The Dream Team V failed to qualify for the London Olympics after they crashed out of the 2011 CAF U-23 Championships at the group stages. Predicted Finish Nigeria’s preparations for this tournament has been very shoddy and the team’s performances in pre-tournament friendlies has not been very inspiring. As earlier mentioned, the team is still stuck at their US training camp with less than 36 hours to their opening match against Japan, and this doesn’t bode well for the team’s chances. Nonetheless, the group stage looks negotiable but they may face Brazil in the Quarterfinals which could be a tough ask for Siasia’s men.
