the TOP things to do and know before you contest for Mr Nairaland coming soon, I followed miss Nairaland till final and I have come to realise things


enough of intro let's get to business .


1. every moderators has a candidate , the candidate can be a sibling, friend or acquaintance which they ask to contest . this candidate has higher chance.


ME: You may be right but being friends with a Mod, contest or no contest is good for your health. Afterall they are humans too




2. the popular members can easily obtain more votes knowing many people from different sections



ME: You can say that again. No matter how handsome and goodlooking you may be, you are as good as those rooting for you. Come to think of it, the mrMiss NL is more popularity inclined and only in few cases (like last year) will you have a winner fairly popular but quite deserving (backed by powerful popular niggas). Thats fair to me.




3. you will need more campaign managers that are ladies than male, ladies can easily convince guys with their sexual organs to obtain votes


ME: Sound it loud and clear. You need rugged and consistent campaigners like adeh39 , aminat508, creamish, cho25bc onstelly repogirl erniesmallz hateu2 etc ......More ladies will ease the tension so much that while your male campaigners engage in scuffles and tackles upandan, someoone can keep the tempo high


5. the awon weyrey group or knights group candidate always come first or second.


ME: In recent past, this has been the case. While it might be easy to say sometimes their choice of candidate is below par , the cohesion and organization is worth commendation. Although i would say fielding a top notch candidate could have made their job less difficult without having to convince us real hard. Bottom line is, if you dont have affinity to any group (or association of friends with like minds) as a back up server, my brother join the choir (you can also build a team from scratch if you are very well determined)



6. you must have at least 20 campaign managers who register before 2015 and have more than 5000 posts , it means they are popular and they can influence people to vote you.


ME: Thatz so spot on. Even if they are not very popular, it shows they must have at one point or the other related with a handful of other nairalanders (even offline). They are also eligible which guarantees you a bailout vote if u get to the finals. Imagine having 50 of these nairalanders as integral part of your team, thats cool 50 votes Plus dont forget each of them wont have less than two qualified alternates.....One vote alone can make you win.




7. the winner is not always the most good-looking but the most photogenic , contestants go to studios pay to get their pictures edited to look fine.

ME: This is not always true but often true than not. Its difficult to be goodlooking and not photogenic. Handsomeness is relative and subjected to a specific outlined specs. However people are goodlooking in varying perspective which makes it difficult to categorize a man's handsomeness without a specified metrics. Summary, if you believe you fine, snap high quality pictures with posh dress sense( tommfrench and iamkingzlee killed it with their suits mehn). Have fun while doing it puleaseeeee




8. you must promise your campaign managers money to make them work very hard or else you are wasting your time


ME: Not all the time. We still have selfless individuals on NL. Just be nice, funny and respectful to all your team members as much as you can. The prize money is not enough for some of them to smoke cigar (vanquay ) or to take go groove (kinginvalhala ). Just be nice and dont ever be pompous. If they ask for money, call me.




9. the NL jega may not be accurate so you must count your votes by your self through mentions even opponents vote to avoid being cheated .


ME: ohh blood of God, dont joke with this. Jega na one yeye drunkard oooo , assign a member of your team to count along. That is not to say the process is compromised, but you can never say never.



10. lastly , you must asslick ,beg and persuade to obtain votes in this competition , the best begger gets the highest votes.

ME: LOLZZZ....If you are too proud to beg, am yet to know why you are in the contest ooo. Buh honestly, humans can be so annoying sometimes. You beg during the contest but they will keep reminding you how you prostrated to them online, even after 5years. So if you are cool with the aftermath, fly like a bird and beg like a leper.
