Only a dunce uses ethnicity and religion to build a political base and opposed to sound reason and logic.
I pray he leads them out. We could use far fewer dunces in this country honestly. my best guess; you did not read it ! |

AnanseK: The whole topic is about the value of the north to Igbos , remember? Not whether Igbos make money or not, that is not in contention and not relevant to the thread. Hmmm, strange a happenings !!! A few pages behind, I would have sworn I saw you replying that igbo's did not make the 1-25 list of wealthy people in Africa. Now same you now agrees that their making money is not in contention!! You even went further to say it Is irrelevant to the thread.....;nawa o, who raised this irrelevant point in the first place (shrugging)......Maybe it's Fayose... ..am out. |
Politics › Re: Kwankwaso: The Land Igbos Are Holding In The North More Than Whole South-East by louwie(m): 3:17pm On Jun 22, 2017 |
AnanseK: And have you found out where he made that money? Why was Ojukwu born in Zungeru in Northern Nigeria?
Was his father living in the east making money and his children being born in the north? Figure it out for yourself even if you can't use Google. This my friend is a poor attempt at shifting the original subject matter. That said, if the argument is "where the money was made" and not "who makes the money".....then i take my leave. bye. |

Igbos are not happy that we still have poor almajiris in the north despite all the resources at our disposal. They actually want a prosperous Nigeria Brilliantly said !!!! couldn't have put it better myself. |

Ipob are always into Fraud, 419, Laundering e.t.c
Crime is embedded in their Genes You are hundred miles wrong. Ojukwu's father was once the Richest man in Nigeria, first instance. The answer you seek is not far fetched, Awolowo (Blessed memory) will explain better. |

ERockson: Kwankwaso really rubbishes the SE with this statement. So the whole SE is so small that the land igbo occupied in the north is now bigger than the whole SE. What an Insult! depends on the angle....!! more intelligent inference can be drawn from it, your's am afraid is biased one. |

"The table above reveals that the South-West has occupied the position of CG for a total of nine years; the South-East has had it for six months, while no officer from the South-South has never been appointed to the position. On the other hand, the North-Central, North-West and North-East have dominated the position for a period of 31 years registering five, 21 and five and half years respectively."
nigerianpilot.com/cg-of-customs-obj-angry-with-buhari/ Interesting it is. Can you be kind enough to provide more info as to who this easterner is, the one who served for 6 months ? Reason being that i have done my own digging in times past and it revealed no such thing. Please provide more info ? |
Politics › Re: Igbos Are Being Marginalized And This Is Evidence - Reno Omokri. by louwie(m): 2:36pm On May 27, 2017 |
bkool7: Let me elaborate on my reply . Why hasn't any person from Eastern Nigeria serve as CGC ?
First , It could be a coincidence . A coincidence In the sense that no one is keeping records of the ethnics that had served in that capacity . Since the constitution didn't say that particular post should be rotational among ethnic groups in Nigeria .
Secondly , a study of that office had shown that its rare to bring in civilian to serve in that capacity . So most people that had assumed that post were Custom officials , and they're appointed according to ranks. So if an eastern person had not been there ...without prejudice , it has to be that they lack the rank to be there whenever the need arises .
Thirdly , since you yourself acknowledged the peculiarity of the post , unfortunately it May be that successive govt. don't usually find a trustworthy peron in easterner to trust with such resposibility . And as long as Federal character had been fulfilled - people are usually contented .Except maybe a particular person interested in the post for reasons only best known to him/her.
These are the best possible facts. Whether they're satisfactory to you is entirely your perogative . "Without prejudice".....i do hope so especially for the sake of our unity and democracy.
Anyways thanks for engaging me. It is not often you meet someone who will remain calm and polite while intelligently maintaining a conversation with you here on Nairaland. I will note your moniker. Regards louwie. |

bkool7: Igbos can't be in all places
The custom controller general is a post of heirachy, until Buhari decided to appoint someone outside ...which is within his jurisdiction. I know Shagari too appointed someone from outside before . The same reason is why no one from the West has ever been a Senate President in Nigeria. Does that make the West shout Marginalization ?
And it doesn't bother me because I see no direct impact from someone from my side holding a political office . The only ones that benefit are the friends , families and relations .
What you people call igbo marginalization is the way the political elite marginalize all citizens of nigeria. You see it as igbo marginalization, but its general Did you notice how convenient it is to say yoruba's have never been senate president ? Very convenient right ? especially since they can and have been number 1 and 2 at different points in our shared history. anyways let us not derail here; am talking about is Customs here and It is strictly by appointment. How about you tell me why the easterners haven't been appointed Comptroller general of customs ? I mean every one can explain why yoruba's have not been senate president but who can tell us why no easterner have ever been appointed but from outside and inside the force. |

bkool7: Its a win win for them because they're calculative . Those screaming marginalization should practise the political calcution too .
Reno is jus being mischievous I agree with point 1, they are calculative I agree with 3, politics is like that sometimes but i do not agree with 2. You do not understand, there is a bigger play here, Ponder on this verifiable fact. "No comptroller general of customs has ever been of eastern extraction since the days of colonial govt till date"
ever asked why ? ? note: i do not have an answer myself. Thank you. |

iamjavadem: slowpoke, which facts? Why didn't reno and GEJ address these issues when they were in power? Stupid hyprocite. What reno said is not limited to 6 yrs of jonathan's rule, it by far exceeds that and relating the instance he raised to the question you asked, think Enugu airport. |

bkool7: If you follow the 1999 presidential election you'll know that the west didn't support Obj . He won the election with votes from other parts of the country . The regional Yoruba parties are AD and ACN Dear friend, it is a win win situation for the yoruba's all the same. I could go on to illustrate that for you but due to time constraint i can't. Also, it is important to point out that what Omokiri is saying is not only limited to the past 16years alone, it exceeds that. He generalized and cited one instance alone. Thank you. |
