Sixty-seven-year old Brad Keith Sigmon, an inmate at the South Carolina Department of Corrections in the United States, was executed by firing squad on Friday. It was the first such execution in the US since 2010, and the fourth since capital punishment was reinstated in 1976, according to the Death Penalty Information Center. Sigmon selected the firing squad out of three state-approved methods of execution; others are lethal injection or the electric chair. Convicted of double homicide, he was declared deceased by a physician at 6:08 p.m. ET, officials announced at a news conference. Sigmon was found guilty of the deaths of his former girlfriend’s parents in 2001. He kidnapped the ex-girlfriend after the murders, but she broke free. “I want my closing statement to be one of love and a calling to my fellow Christians to help us end the death penalty,” Sigmon appealed in a statement.

What's the story? TOY STORY 4 begins with a flashback to a rainy night nine years earlier, during which Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) and a crop of Andy's toys work to save RC from being swept away by the storm. Later that same night, Andy's little sister, Molly, gives her porcelain Bo Peep (Annie Potts) and sheep away. Woody tries to save Bo, but she's actually fine with being passed along to another child, so the two say goodbye. Fast-forward to the toys' current home with rising kindergartner Bonnie (Madeleine McGraw). Although Woody isn't one of Bonnie's favorite toys (she prefers Jessie), he stows away in her backpack to comfort her through school orientation, where he helps her make a special toy: a spork with googly eyes, pipe cleaner arms, and popsicle stick feet whom she names "Forky." Forky (Tony Hale) unexpectedly comes to life, but, despite Woody's explanations, he believes he's trash and keeps trying to throw himself in the garbage. While the family is on a road trip, Forky flees, Woody follows to get him back, and the two bond as they make their way back to Bonnie. But the plan goes sideways when Woody sees Bo Peep's lamp on display in an antique store, and Forky ends up being held hostage by 1950s baby doll Gabby Gabby (Christina Hendricks), who has designs on Woody's vintage voice box. Ending a relationship is never easy. Not for the person who’s getting broken up with and not for the person doing the breaking up. Sometimes we stay in relationships longer than we want to, because we’re afraid of the pain of splitting up. We make excuses for staying. We chalk it up to a rough patch. But excuses are excuses, and sometimes you all you can do is move on. So when is it time to call it quits? This Question need to be answered: When is it time to let go of someone you love? 1. When you’re not happy and you haven’t been for a while. It’s impossible to be happy in every moment. There will be rough patches in any relationship. Sometimes we carry too much of the stress of our daily lives into our relationships. Sometimes we get angry and take it out on our partner. It’s not right but it happens, which is why it’s important to talk things out. If you’re making an effort to patch things up, but things still don’t work, it might be time to say goodbye. 2. You don’t who you are when you’re with your partner. It’s a cliché to say that relationships should bring out the best in us, but often clichés come from truth. Your relationship should bring out your A-game. If you’re looking in the mirror and don’t like what you see, take a step back and ask yourself when and how that started. If your relationship is the culprit, you need to talk to your partner. Maybe you’re mirroring the poor behavior or they’re encouraging it. Either way, if you feel your partner is not good for you, moving on may be the best option. Continue Reading: http://www.usalovers.com.ng/2019/03/how-to-know-its-time-to-move-on-from.html |
English Premier League (EPL) giants Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, along with Italian Serie A's top clubs Juventus and Inter Milan have been announced on Wednesday morning (March 27) as the teams playing in the International Champions Cup (ICC) in Singapore in July. akicc The pre-season tournament for Europe's top football clubs will be played in Singapore's National Stadium. The Red Devils will take on Inter on July 20 and a day later, the Old Lady of Turin will meet Spurs. Legends from the clubs - Dwight Yorke (United), Francesco Toldo (Inter), Fabrizio Ravanelli (Juventus) and Teddy Sheringham (Tottenham) were present at the launch at the Incubator, near the Padang. With no World Cup and European Championship played in the summer, the stage is set for a galaxy of stars to play in Singapore, apart from the South American players involved in the Copa America. Sheringham said: "There is nothing like seeing the teams in the flesh. And with no distraction of other big tournaments (in Europe), hopefully all the big players will be on show for our Asian fans." Yorke added: "We know that Asia is one of our biggest markets and, certainly, Singapore is very important. We want to feel connected to our fanbase and we are excited to come back (to Singapore) and to improve our brand as well." United's visit will be particularly exciting to its large fanbase here. The club last played in Singapore in 2001, when a side that featured Roy Keane, David Beckham and even goalkeeper Fabien Barthez playing up front defeated a Singapore Selection side 8-1, with Lions striker Indra Sahdan scoring for the hosts. << Continue reading @ www.isportng.com >> |
On Wednesday, Goal will reveal its list of the world's 50 best teenagers, with Vinicius Junior and Jadon Sancho both in contention for top spot NxGn is back! And the competition is stiffer than ever before. Every year, Goal unveils its list of the 50 best Under-19s in world football, with the players rated and ranked in terms of first-team experience, potential and overall ability by experts from 42 editions across the world. Justin Kluivert took home the title 12 months ago and the Ajax academy product subsequently sealed an €18.75 million (£16.2m/$21.3m) move to Roma. The Netherlands international is still only 19 years of age but he is ineligible for this year's accolade as he was not born on or after January 1, 2000. So, who is in contention? Well, Real Madrid sensation Vinicius Junior is certainly among the frontrunners after making a stunning start to his Blancos career, following last summer's €45m (£38.8m/$51.2m) move from Flamengo. The 18-year-old has been so good, in fact, that he has just been called into the Brazil senior squad. Jadon Sancho, though, has already been capped at international level by England on the back of his stunning performances for Borussia Dortmund. In January, the Manchester City product even became the youngest player ever to net eight goals in the Bundesliga. Speaking of City, Phil Foden continues to bewitch former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola with his midfield magic, with the Catalan of the belief that the Etihad outfit have unearthed a true "diamond" in the 'Stockport Iniesta'. Vinicius Junior Real Madrid Copa del Rey 2018 This is certainly an exciting time for English football, which is still riding the crest of a wave after last year's surprise fourth-placed finish at the Russia World Cup, and Callum Hudson-Odoi has quickly become a fan favourite at Chelsea. The only trouble is, though, the winger's performances have made the rest of Europe sit up and take notice, and Bayern Munich tried to sign him for £35m ($46.2m) during the January transfer window. Still, the Bavarians can take comfort in the fact that they already have Alphonso Davies on board, with Canada's youngest ever international and goalscorer having arrived at the Allianz Arena from Vancouver Whitecaps during the winter break. Madrid also moved swiftly to wrap up a deal for Vinicius Junior's fellow Brazilian prodigy Rodrygo, who will move to the Spanish capital from Santos this summer for €40m (£34.5m/$45.5m). Jadon Sancho Borussia Dortmund 2018-19 Meanwhile, Diego Lainez has already had his first taste of La Liga, after joining Betis in January, and has also made his mark in the Europa League, becoming the second-youngest Mexican ever to score in UEFA competition. << Read more @ www.isportng.com >> |

The Portuguese's quest for a title with a third team will stay on track against Ajax, while the Argentine's Barcelona will see off the Red Devils The Champions League quarter-final ties are drawn and we now we also know the pathways to the final. If Barcelona and Lionel Messi are to go all the way – for the first time since 2015 – then they will have to overcome Manchester United and then most likely Liverpool. Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus, meanwhile, face a straightforward task against Ajax but then could be paired with a goal-laden Manchester City in the semis. Cristiano Ronaldo has faced Ajax five times in the Champions League, winning all five games, scoring seven goals. Indeed, aside from Juventus themselves and Bayern Munich, the five-time winner has had more success against Ajax in front of goal than any other team in this competition. And, after orchestrating a blitz in the last round which accounted for Atletico Madrid, Ronaldo is hitting form at the right time in this competition. Ajax were classy in their second leg against Real Madrid but that victory owed as much to the listlessness and disorganisation in the opposition ranks as it did to the confidence with which this fearless young Ajax side were playing. Reaching this stage of the competition means Ajax have already surpassed their expectations for the season and Juve – with all their canniness, quality and experience – will provide a wholly different challenge to the one the Dutch faced in the last 16. And Ronaldo will be expecting to gorge himself on goals yet again. Losers: Manchester United Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Man Utd 2019 Had Presnel Kimpembe’s intervention not been given as a handball after consultation with VAR in the last round, then there is a good chance we’d be talking about Neymar’s return to Barcelona with PSG rather than Manchester United lining up opposite Lionel Messi and Co. in the quarter-finals. It’s been played as some kind of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer masterclass but the truth of the last 16 contest is that United were lucky. Clinical, yes, but lucky. How they would have fared had Neymar and Edinson Cavani – and more – been fit for PSG can only be speculated about. But the fact of the matter is the true level of United’s performance was more in evidence in the first leg when PSG beat them at Old Trafford convincingly. Relying on your goalkeeper is not exactly the prime strategy to select when Messi and Luis Suarez are in town. Messi is ominously in form and passing up chances at this stage of the Champions League is not on his agenda. Barca will dominate across both legs. There will be no happy homecoming for Solskjaer to Camp Nou, where he decided the 1999 final. Winner: Pep Guardiola Pep Guardiola Manchester City 2018-19 Pep Guardiola has enjoyed a run of three straight victories against Tottenham Hotspur – including a comprehensive defeat of Mauricio Pochettino’s charges at Wembley back in October in the Premier League. After initially struggling for results against Spurs – losing and drawing against them in his opening season – he has now got the measure of them, like he has for most opposition teams he faces these days. We are now set for a triple showdown between City and Spurs, with the teams facing off three times in a matter of 10 days in the Champions League and the Premier League. City are due to host the Londoners in the lunchtime kickoff on April 20, by which time the semi-final place which is up for grabs in the Champions League will be sorted. Depending on how well Spurs get to grips with City in those European games, then the league contest could have a big bearing on the title race too. If Spurs can take something from City in the Premier League – and with City then facing the Manchester derby straight after – it may well play into the hands of Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool. Losers: Ajax and Frenkie de Jong Frenkie De Jong Real Madrid Ajax UEFA Champions League 03/05/19 Secretly, some people will have been wishing for Ajax to draw Porto, in order to give them the best possible chance of reaching the semis. It hasn’t worked out like that so if they are going to do it, they are going to have to do it the hard way; Real Madrid in the last round, Ronaldo and Juventus in this one. This is a really good Ajax team and in it are some outstanding talents. Dusan Tadic lit up the last 16 while the emerging expertise in Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs De Ligt are well known. This is a side which deserves the big stage and the big games. They will be considered second best to Juve and are far too inexperienced in games like this to trouble a side like Juve at this level. However, where that lack of experience exists, there is also fearlessness. There were no nerves in Santiago Bernabeu because Ajax had nothing to lose. They were already one-down and played freely, grabbing all the momentum. If they can keep their nerve and play football like we know they can they Ajax have every chance of giving a good account of themselves. Winners: Liverpool <<< Read More @ www.isportng.com >>> |
