Hello house. i need your advise on a critical issue. i am a masters student in Canada & currently on coop work term. The comma now is i want to bring my fiancee to Canada [i miss her scatter scatter]. The "BUT" here is, we are not married thus i claimed single when i applied for study permit. My plan is to go home next month and we get married. What is our chances of her getting a spouse open work permit after we get married? and is this a sensible move or what other option/s can i explore? I thank una for una answers |

Fhemmmy:
Part 10 already, may the 10th season be a season of good for you all and see you in Canada.
Please has anyone used his/her Naira Bank card to withdraw money lately from the ATM Machines in Canada? If Yes, please what is: The rate The limit per day. Which back? Thanks a lot for your assistance. it's been ridiculous. first bank charged 320naira to 1CAD few days ago(limit is 350CAD/24hrs). it reduced to 298 to 1CAD as @ yesterday. Awon oloriburuku olooshii |

mtngloetiartel: Hello house! Am still weighing options considering the cost and benefit. 2 years Diploma versus 1 year certificate. Which one pay? I intend to work and be residence in canada after study. I learn that am entitled to 1 year work permit after the certificate program while it is 2 to 3 years work permit after a 2 years diploma program. Can I still renew or extend my work permit after expiry of my work permit? DO NOT SUBJECT YOURSELF TO UNNECESSARY WHAHALA.. 2 years diploma increases yr chance over 1 year cert. |

wealthyexcel: Wow! Lovina1245 you're a blessing! Thank you for the all these info. I checked Hi-Jericho before now price for a night was quite low but my worry was that it is dormitory setting thus I was trying to imagine how one would secure luggage. And also the proximity to school since it is 3.4km to UBC. What do you think about St. Andrew's housing? Thank you for the hint about raincoat and food ;-) your luggage is safe + u'll be given a locker. never heard of saint andrew.. my advise: get here before you start house hunting... you can catch a ubc 22 bus heading to ubc from downtown. (hi jericho). the sweet thing is u'll get an apt to move in once u land.. of course, thats if you have cash. apts are plenri... but your taste is what counts. so get here, and u'll get apts in the next 1 hour |

wealthyexcel: Pls, I'll be heading to UBC, Vancouver next week. Can I get help with securing accommodation from you guys that are there already? Thank you in anticipation. best bet.. get down here lodge a day or two (book online hi-vancouver central or hi-jericho abt 45CAD/nyt) . surf craigslist and check d apts out yrself. cheapest room so far is 450CAD/month.. thats if u wanna stay in kits. if u wanna stay offcampus 600CAD. dnt worry abt daily transport cost.. ubc will issue u a compass card dt allows u transit in the city at no personal cost. come with kingsize raincoats. rain is vancouvers hobby. food here is on d high side.. fruits cheap. |

Bobola86: By work permit, are you referring to PGWP? If you are talking about the normal student work permit, it's not true. Got mine at point of entry and just got my SIN number at the social insurance office 2 days ago. EDIT: sorry I got my trv since February tho. huh.. the work permit you received @ the POE, is it diffrent from the study permit cos we all that came in the same day only received study permit. |

Jengbetiele: You know i was actually discussing this with a friend here today.. One thing I have observed over time here is most canadians are very lazy, they dont wanna go to school. All they know is smoking, coking parties and whatever. They have a responsive government that takes care of there mess to a large extent. Canada truly needs people because they are densely populated despite being the second largest country in the world by landmass. As much as Canada wants people, they are highly selective. They dont just want every tom dick and harry. They need raw talent, high flyers, first among equals. And once they see that prospect going by how strong your application is, TRV becomes easier, schooling becomes easier, you go just dey chop grants and fundings up and down. They will even pay your flights and hotel bills for conferences in other countries. As a matter of fact, you may not pay a dime till you have your Phd and live reasonably well without having to take any other job except you are bored. Having invested so much in your talent, do you think they gonna let you leave just like that? It is impossible!! I am with you on this!! Mama team12 Congrats as in ehh.... my flatmate smokes lyk coalpot.. I don tayah sef |

dgman11234: Hello everyone,
I would advice that people should share their travel experience especially at the POE this will help make prospective traveller well knowledged and ready for their trip. nothing special. just ensure u come with your letter of admission/acceptance, POE letter of intro and evidence of funds. although, I wasn't asked for evidence of funds oooo. |

chrisviral: In the past a lot of people have been able to gain access into Canada without the POE, just your TRV on your passport is good enough, the POE na jara. If they ask, simply say, you are yet to get it, they have system where they verify.
Safe journey to Maple land. Thanks |

chrisviral: I don't understand what you mean by that statement.
If you received any "youdonotreply" message, normally 2 (about a update in your app and about a new message in your app) and you are yet to get the POE, then you need to write accra.immigration@international.gc.ca and complain to this effect.
@topebamidele.. this is what I meant.. thanks.. i received d update mail but that poe part aint in my account. will mail cic asap |

chrisviral: They don't attach a mail to the update mail. Once you get the update mail, Login to your MyCiC account and click on messages and updates, it's right below your passport request form. cant find your description on my cic account. the only message below my passport request is the letter to be attached to the passport prior stamping |

chrisviral: Online routers, their passport doesn't come with one, you will receive an update from MYcic before your application is closed, that is the POE letter, you download it there. Is your application now closed?
Unless you applied via paper i received the update mail but there was no mail attached and my app ia already closed. i applied thru online route |
