Hi! Question…the Lagos Embassy asked for us to drop back off the passport after being on AP. Does he have to be the one to drop it off?

If so then you are picking up passport with visa in it.

Yes, I apologize. We have been placed in administrative processing and filled out form 5535. They have directed us to pick up the passport at DHL, they have sent two emails saying it has been picked up from the embassy. But when we try to pick the passport up from DHL it is not there...

Hello again! We have received to emails to pick up his passport (we are still in AP) but when we go to pick it up it is still not there...do they have a history of losing passports??

Okay it is good you sent back the form asap, and yes things like this are not strange for cases they need to investigate an information or scrutinize if they notice anything after your visa is approved. So don’t panic, it will end in praise.

Were you given the white paper that explained the collection of your issued visa or you were given (221g) letter after the interview ?

It is not only red flags that makes visa applications go into Administrative Processing, it could be an information they needed to complete your case, it could be a suspicion they need to investigate, it could be anything but most AP ends well when what they needed is provided.

Form 5535 is a form they ask you to fill out when additional information or documentation is needed to complete your interview.

I will fill out ASAP and provide everything they needed then wait for the visa, earliest response earliest visa issuance.

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well. My fiancé and I had our interview last Thursday, it went very well the officer said we were approved. Then yesterday we get an email saying they want us to fill our form 5535 and we are on administrative processing. Has anyone had this experience? We are a pretty straight forward case, no age gap, we can have children, have seen each other 5 times in 2 years, really no red flags. The only things I can think of is he is Muslim, but again there is no red flags even with that he only has traveled outside the country with me. Please if anyone has anything to help, I would appreciate it!

I tried to do they but they needed the appointment letter for the interview…
