The Critics Are Wrong Some cynics and critics believe this event is linked to a cult mentality and say it can achieve nothing. These kind of people are crazy because…why can’t it? How could this be a bad thing? It’s bringing the future leaders and people of the world together to think positively and wish good out to everything and everyone. There’s nothing wrong with that. Children are the future. Instilling them with good morals and values to become positive responsible adults is a very good thing. Also, the future is for our children, and they are the best hope we have. By helping them learn meditation, we induce a positive way of thought that will benefit them physically and mentally. The V star children’s project is an event where children wish good for the world and meditate for its well-being. It happens once a year, and when it does, these children come together in prayer and meditation, hoping to heal the scars humanity has inflicted on Mother Earth. The first event was in 2008 and it was part of the World Morality Revival project that had been initiated by the abbot of the Wat Phra Dhammakaya Buddhist Temple, Luang Phor Dhammachayo. They have continued to do it traditionally every year since.

But who’s going to save women from their issues? Issues like addiction, mental health, family troubles. Why do we not have the same expectation of men to be emotional caretakers of women? If a man leaves a woman dealing with issues, he is said to have ‘dodged the bullet’ but a woman who endures his financial problems, violence, mental health issues, is praised, or encouraged to stay and help him turn his life around. In this way, female endurance – a woman who stays with her man through his troubled years – is romanticised; she is seen as loyal. And that loyalty seems to be expected of women. The idea is that she’s proved her worth; she’s not a golddigger, she didn’t just abandon him while he was making something of himself. And rarely is it reciprocated. Men staying with women who are finding themselves is not commonplace. Men staying with women who are ‘troubled’ is a rarity. Especially when it comes to addiction, women are expected to stay. This can be extremely challenging for a partner. In doing so, they showed they prescribed to the idea that marriage, like relationships, is a woman’s responsibility to maintain.

An unborn baby has been saved after its mother was shot with a crossbow while she did the washing up. Heavily pregnant Devi Unmathallegadoo was attacked at her home in Ilford, east London, on Monday, and later died in hospital. The 35-year-old's husband, Imtiaz Muhammad, said his wife had been shot in front of her five children, aged between one and 17. He told the Evening Standard he had encountered the man in the garden shed before the attack at around 7.40am. Police said Mrs Unmathallegadoo was found with an abdominal injury. The arrow reportedly passed just inches from the baby's body. Mrs Unmathallegadoo was reportedly known to neighbours as Sana Muhammad, having changed her name after she married her husband around six years ago. Mr Muhammad, 42, told the Evening Standard: "I went to put a cardboard box in the shed. He was there with the crossbow loaded. "He stared at me, he was going to shoot so I ran into the house. "My wife was doing the washing up, I was shouting 'run' 'run' 'run'. He shot her. "I can't help thinking she took my arrow. Maybe it should have hit me. "The kids were all there, it was horrific." He said surgeons had to operate to save the baby with the arrow still in his wife's body. A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed the baby was born in hospital, where he remains. Relatives have named him Ibrahim and he was delivered by caesarean section, according to reports. Donald Trump, President of the United States, is planning to sign an executive order that will revoke the right of citizenship for children of noncitizens born on American soil. According to Washington Post, Trump revealed this in a television interview taped on Monday. During an interview with Axios scheduled to air as part of a new HBO series starting this weekend, Trump was quoted as saying: "We’re the only country in the world where a person comes in and has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States for 85 years with all of those benefits. It’s ridiculous. It’s ridiculous. And it has to end.” The US President said he has discussed the move with his legal counsel and believes it can be accomplished with executive action. He said: “It was always told to me that you needed a constitutional amendment. Guess what? You don’t. You can definitely do it with an act of Congress. But now they’re saying I can do it just with an executive order. “It’s in the process. It’ll happen. . . with an executive order." Legal scholars have countered Trump's move, as it runs against the provision of the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution, which reads: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside". However, contrary to Trump's claim that only the US offers birthright citizenship, NumbersUSA, a group that reports migration-related issues, listed at least 30 countries offering same.
