your day and pushing things.

this is the pattern of the ribbed hat you requested for

Chain 3
Round 1: In first chain, crochet 13DC. Join with a ss to top of the chain 3 (makes 14 sts total)
Round 2: Chain 2. fpdc then dc in each stitch. Repeat all the way around. Join with a ss to top of chain 2. (28 sts)
Round 3: Chain 2. fpdc in each fpdc, dc in each dc. Repeat all the way around. Join with a ss to top of chain 2. (28 sts)
Round 4: Chain 2. *fpdc in fpdc. 2dc in each dc* Repeat all the way around. Join with a ss to top of chain 2. (42 sts)
Round 5: Chain 2. *fpdc in fpdc. dc in top of same fpdc. dc in each dc* Repeat all the way around. Join with a ss to top of chain 2 (56 sts)
Round 6: Chain 2. *fpdc in fpdc. dc in each dc* Repeat all the way around. Join with a ss to top of chain 2. (56 sts)
Rounds 7-14 for toddler, 7-15 for child: Repeat round 6
Round 15-17 for toddler, 16-18 for child:
Ribbing. Chain 2. *fpdc in fpdc. bpdc in dc. fpdc in dc. bpdc in dc.* Repeat from * to * all the way around. Join with ss at end of row. Weave in ends

Congrats girl! you really did well. In starting the 2nd round, the ch3 and then 2dc should not show any gaps. You should not let the tension slack so that they look like 3dc.

Here is a granny rectangle pattern. You start from the middle (left hand side) by doing ch21.

Please note that there are many ways of making a granny rectangle. This is just one of them.

So it goes like this:

Foundation row: Ch21. 3dc into 6th ch from
hook, skip 2 ch, 3dc in next ch... continue to last ch where you do 1dc in last ch.

Rnd 1: ch3, 3dc in top of last dc from foundation row.
ch 3 (to form the first corner), 3dc into body of last dc from foundation row....

Okay class, you should be able to work out the rest of the pattern yourself.

monkey applique

copied from a crochet blog

i should have used a smaller needle.
Monkey Applique Pattern:
Starting with beige yarn
Magic ring, chain 1 and make 6 SC in ring, join, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around (12 SC)
Round 3: 2 SC in each stitch around (24 SC)
Round 4: 2 SC in first, SC in next, repeat around, join, chain 1 (36 SC)
Round 5: Skip one stitch and make 6 DC all in next stitch, skip one stitch, make a SC in next two, skip a stitch, 6 DC all in one, skip a stitch, join with sl st.
Change to brown yarn
SC in each stitch around making DC in the stitches between the humps on top. Join to first SC.
To make the ears:
Attach yarn to one side of head, chain 1 and skip a stitch, make 6 DC all in next stitch, join w slip stitch in next. Fasten off
On other side of head attach yarn and do the same.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Stitch on eyes, nose and half smile with tapestry and black yarn.

tatacherie and sharonah i think you r missing the correction Ynnk made after posting the tutorial pix.
this is it Hello Class, please work your granny square with the pictorial. I have omitted "ch1" from round 2 (my apologies) probably due to excitement. The correct stuff should be: R2: Ch3, * 3dc in next ch2 sp, ch2, 3dc in same ch2 sp. ch1. Rep from * 2 more times. In last ch2 sp, do 3dc, ch2, 2dc. Join with sl st to 2nd ch of initial ch3.

i believe round 2 is where u are facing some challenges. try this pattern out, and follow the round 3 on the pix tutorial.
