worlexy:OBJ detests to hear MKO being called Messiah... He never cares about June 12 cos of the personality (MKO) around it. It will be a great shame for OBJ to hear this. IBB really doesn't care. The beneficiaries of this pronouncement remain the MKO family and not the SW. Note it anywhere, Buhari will win the 2019 elections with or without the SW votes.... Very obvious! Not because he has performed but cos there us no better alternatives. Barely 8 months to elections, none of them is ready to spend heavily as usual. Turnout will be low but PMB will still return. |

Channels Television. Updated October 10, 2015 Former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, is dead. The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Information, Esueme Dan-Kikili, confirmed to Channels Television that the former governor died of cardiac arrest on Saturday. He reportedly slipped into a coma two days ago and was placed on life support. There were reports during the week that the British Government was determined to resurrect an outstanding case of money laundering against the former governor and had requested for his extradition to London. Alamieyeseigha, who was facing money laundering charges, jumped bail and returned to Nigeria and has since then refused to answer summons for trial to continue. According to his Wikipedia page, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha was born on November 16, 1952 in Amassoma, Ogboin North Local Government Area, Bayelsa State. He attended the Bishop Dimeari Grammar School, Yenagoa. He joined the Nigerian Defence Academy as a Cadet Officer in 1974, then joined the Nigerian Air Force, where he served in the department of Logistics and Supply. He held various air force positions in Enugu, Markurdi, Kaduna and Ikeja. Alamieyeseigha retired from the air force in 1992 as a Squadron Leader. After leaving the air force he became the Sole Administrator of Pabod Supplies Port Harcourt. Later he became Head of Budget, Planning, Research and Development of the National Fertiliser Company (NAFCON). Diepreye Alamieyeseigha was impeached on allegations of corruption on 9 December 2005. |

Niger State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ibeto, and over 2oo political office holders on Monday defected from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. Announcing his defection to newsmen in Minna, Ibeto said, “I am on my way to welcome our party leader and presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, at Minna Airport for his campaign rally in Niger State.” Ibeto attributed his defection to injustice melted out him and other contestants in the state party primaries, describing the exercise as flawed and stage-managed to favour anointed candidates. Ibeto said, “The electoral process that threw up Alhaji Umar Nasko as PDP governorship candidate was not in accordance with the PDP electoral law and the constitution,”he said. “It is true we are defecting to APC because the primaries conducted were not in accordance wirth the PDP constitution. Myself and other aggrieved party members decided to petition the National Headquaters of the party on the outcome of the governorship primaries with a view to addressing the obvious injustice but met a brickwall. “We were expecting justice from the party’s national office but nothing was forthcoming, hence we decided to join the APC.” He however appealed to his supporters to be law abiding and not to make politics a do-or-die battle. Among those who defected from PDP alongside the deputy governor are serving members of National Assembly, members of State’s House of Assembly, former commissioners and former local governments chairmen http://www.punchng.com/news/niger-deputy-gov-dumps-pdp-for-apc/ |
The Goodluck/Sambo Support Group has accused two ministers from Kano and the state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial candidate of refusing to identify with President Goodluck Jonathan by shunning his posters. “We wish to avail Mr. President and especially the Goodluck/Sambo Presidential Campaign Organization and the general public of the lackadaisical attitude of those charged with the campaign in the state as their approach lacks vigour,” the Chairman of the group, Abdulmuminu Musa, said in a state. “It is a statement of fact that nothing is being done at the moment to bolster the effort in the mobilization drive for the supporters for the re-election project with just about one month to go.” The group observed that despite the proximity of the election date, February 14, there was still no campaign billboard of Mr. Jonathan in the state and no campaign structure on ground for the Jonathan/Sambo election. “No branded vehicle of Mr. President is seen anywhere in the state, no candidate under the platform of PDP including our governorship candidate has openly identified with the aspiration of Mr. President by putting his picture side by side with their own as (has) been the trend,” the group said. “We can go on, but suffice it that the ugly trend can be turn around if Mr. President acts fast.” Mr. Musa said the group believed Mr. Jonathan deserved better treatment. He said his group was made up of 120 sub-groups brought together under one platform to campaign for the president. He said they had managed to mobilise about 1.5 million followers in the last two years of their activities. He lamented that despite their overwhelming strength none of the Jonathan/Sambo campaign people reached out to them, although they have structures spread across the state, local government and even ward levels. “We wish to register our regrets that with the number of Federal Projects brought to Kano and the lucrative appointments given to the sons and daughters of the state as well as other tangible and intangible pecks, Mr. President deserves a better deal from his campaigners. “It is also proper for us to reveal here that this ‘I don’t care attitude’ has begun to tell on some of our members thereby making them vulnerable for poaching by the opposition, especially at this eleventh hour. The Chairman of the Jonathan Kano Project 2015, a member of our group was lured away by the opposition, so we beg for quick action.” link: http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/174961-jonathan-support-group-accuses-shekarau-wali-failing-campaign-president-kano.html?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |
Yeah, Keshi guided his guys to AFCON glory last year. Despite this achievement, it was obvious that the victorious team was not as technically and tactically sound as expected. This showed the quality of African football. The only good game played by the SE being the one against Ivory Coast. I used to be an ardent follower of the SE until after I watched a few games under Keshi's tutelage - he's got no flair, tactics and pattern/style but he's got one thing: LUCK!!! His luck has really run dry. His further stay has SE coach will only accommodate mediocrity. The South African FA was smart to see his technical flaws and stalled his appointment. An FA that's after her football development will not see Keshi as an option. Gud morn |
duni04: SW governors=70% propaganda 30% workI cant but to laff @ ur comment. Very hillarious.... but in all fairness even given ur own analysis, the SW edged out the other regions. More can still be done. |
The visit was not to bring them to the APC fold..... Prof is right morally but politically it's called STRATEGY. So let's keep watching the trend. |
FreeGlobe: You people are just deluding yourselves in the name of deceiving others. Fact is yorubas are tribalistically deceitful. The yorubas massively voted Obasanjo in his 2nd tenure after earlier rejecting him for Olu Falae during his first outing the same way they didn't vote Abiola initially but are now taking credit for his failed bid. While Igbos were drumming against obasanjo's third therm bid with the north (thanks to Atiku and Ken Nnamani), the yorubas again were loudly silent. what a people.Did I hear u say the yoruba voted massively for Obasanjo PDP 2nd term? It seems u are too dull & never heard of the do-or-die approach deployed by d power-drunk Usurper (Obj)..... & for d 3rd term go do some research & read up on the position of Afenifere, A.C.N etc. Feed ur soul wt d rite info!!!!! |
[quote author=Wily1Wily]No bi only sophisticated, make we hear word. Tell me one single Yoruba Leader that is better than Jonathan Jonathan in all fairness cannot measure up to any of yoruba leaders in any faculty. |
