NNPCL is started with public funds and the Nigerian people are still owners in the company. NNPCL should double up on their capacity in terms of refining, the crude is owned by Nigerians, NNPCL and FG must work together create filling stations everywhere and refine more, so they can force the price down.

NNPCL should know that it was created for the good of Nigerians and ensure stable supply Nd good pricing for Nigerians. It is not about only making profit, NNPCL should be working for the good and interest of the Nigerian people by reducing fuel price, simply by controlling the market with more refining capacity, more distribution hubs/filling stations nationwide.

You think it's easy to set up manufacturing within few months.
Sometimes factories takes years to build. Not to take of logistics and other integrated value chain to keep the manufacturing running.
Samsung built a factory in Arizona 4 yrs ago as a result of all these tariff issue. It's yet to be completed and not one piece of product is yet to be produced.
.I will advise U to talk to U to people in production business. I don't think U understand the scale involved in manufacturing.

Besides it's just impossible to fully built in America. It's too expensive and impractical.

FYI most made in American products today exit and enter America at least 2ce or 3ce during their phase of production b4 final completion. It's a to and fro production cycle btw America and Mexico.
That's why it's very foolish of him to place tariff on Mexico.


Most countries will simply wait it out if they think the next govt will reverse the tariff policy.
No business man will throw money into an unprofitable venture just because of political knee jerk response.

N.B I'm a Donald Trump fan but I don't support him blindly. That's the difference.
Anyway it's better America wage economic war than engage in useless political or military war.

It will take more than tariff for manufacturing to come back.
its not even about the cost of manufacturing but the intensive integrated value chain and cut throat competitiveness that comes with manufacturing, right from the natural materials to final products.

Americans and the west no longer have that advantage and the ship of manufacturing has set sail to the EAST long time ago.

The tariff import Trump levied on china in his first tenure is still there, Biden increased it yet china export to USA soared from 450 to 560 billion dollars within same period. 10% tariff will change nothing.
It will take more than tariff to shift manufacturing away from china.

25% tariff on Mexico import is the most foolish decision of all. Most American companies manufacturing in Mexico are those who moved their factories from china to be closer to home.
These companies produce some of their cheaper products in Mexico so they can stay competitive. It's an integrated manufacturing assembly line btw Mexico and USA.
The truth is if USA wants to move his manufacturing back home and remain competitive, they NEED MEXICO.

Canada economy is heavily dependent on export to America. 75% of their products ends up in the USA. 25% tariff will be a killer on Canada's economy.
Unfortunately, Trump doesn't want to talk to Trudeau, He even insulted him by calling him Canadian governor.
Trudeau should swallow his pride and do what's best for canada. He should call for general election and Canadians better vote in conservative govt, that's their only saving grace. Maybe, Elon Musk can help them talk to trump.

The fentanyl and immigration thing is a ruse. Only 4000 migrants crossed illegally to USA from Canada last year and only 40 pounds of fentanyl out of 21,000 pounds imported to USA came from Canada.

Trump is simply looking for ways to bring manufacturing back home and it seems Canada is a soft target.
