Please how did your interview go exactly? Can you post a transcript? Thanks!

Congratulations! After being denied twice! Wawu!

I actually paid 4 times but on one occasion I couldn't go for interview because of mismatch in the documents numbers (ds and application). I lost that as it repeated itself on my reschedule and didn't have the 3 days grace even though my profile was updated. If you want something intelligently go for it. It will be worth the loss.

NB mine could be simple but I will advise you prepare deeply for worse questions. Know your stuff to the extent you don't forget them under duress.

Thanks to my buddy for being there @tmbagwu.

Good day house... Visa approved 7/08/17 at the Lagos consulate 6:30. I owe the house this.
Same window as with my previous Lagos denial
Normal exchange of pleasantries and the passing of my doc
Vo:have I interviewed you before
Me no mam
Vo: what are you going to study in the US
Me: masters in theological studies
Vo: why theological studies
Me: my choice for theological studies is borne out of pure passion and love to develop myself in the field of theology. So when the opportunity came up at my present institute who are fighting hard to gain accreditation to become a college, I stole the moment
Vo: what will this degree do for you
Me: it will help me assume a senior role in my place of work and also help the institute's cause
Vo: what did you do in your undergraduate
Me: did bachelor in philosophy and then theology
Vo: what school did you get them from
Me: ui and sspp
Vo: why did you decide on theology after philosophy
Me: my passion for theology as I said drove me to go for theology.
Vo: what does your parents do
Me: dad is late and mum is into a small scale business
Vo: What about your siblings
Me: they are either into various business
Vo: the first child
Me: he is a business man
Vo: you are the last
Me: yes
Vo: who is paying for your tuition
Me: my uncle (cuts in and called the name)
Vo: what does he do
Me: he is a major importer of Telecom gadgets from....
Vo: I can see you have been denied twice
Me: yes mam
Vo: let me see (checks)
Vo: when was your last visit
Me: sometime last week, precisely last month
Vo: why did you say your sponsor is your in-law
Me: no... Probably the vo didn't get me correctly...he is my uncle
Vo: you seem sincere...let me believe you
Me: thank you mam
Then the white paper ritual

Thank you all for this...but God takes the Supreme glory.
I must say this; after my failed interview someone picked me up on me not being able to state the course I was doing. For him/her it shows am a liar. Abeg common reason go tell us say someone could be caught cold on anything even to a simple how old are you? Anybody here don experience am? So abeg if you must critcise or castigate someone, please weigh the options as to what could be responsible. Don't hastily jump into emphatic conclusions. That's not wisdom it rather shows your poor depth of thinking.

Keep up the good work fam

please everyone in the house, I need your help.
After paying my visa fee, I went to ds160 site to generate an application id, answered a security question and left the site. I used this detail (my application id) to schedule my visa appointment. Now coming back to ds-160 site to complete my form I was told to provide the first 5 digits of my surname and my year of birth as part of my security answers which was not required as at then and I didn't even fill anything on that page. My interview comes up on 1st August. Please and please help a brother here.

If it happened today there isn't much you can do aside rescheduling your appointment. Because it takes 3 working days to recognise a profile update. But when rescheduling ensure you are careful as that is your last chance.

Second delay from Lagos consulate, the first was in Abuja.
V.o good morning, how are you
Me: good morning am good.
Vo: passport
Me: I did
Vo: what are you going for in the US
Me: (pretty cold at first, then recovered) am going to the States for an 18 months Master progam in theological studies.
Vo: then asked for my I 20
Vo: why a master in theological studies
Me: it will help me live my dream of being a key figure in the Nigeria religious sector (not the whole of what I practiced though)
Vo: what religious denomination do you belong to
Me: Roman Catholic
(it was like the vo is a Catholic and I had a ba in theology which was on my ds160)
Vo: so tell me about some catholic theologians
Me: told him about St Thomas of whom he asked what his key work was and I did.
Vo: tell me about another
Me: I did tell him about my patron saint
Vo: what do you do currently
Me: I lecture theology and also double as a financial secretary at a Catholic institute.
Vo: what course do you lecture
Me: (never expected that) was put off and I said it is not classified into courses but rather more of a concentration of their present field.
That was all, after typing for a while the preamble before the blue paper.

My second in this month as my study resumes in mid August. Any tips on what to do. Am blue faced now as it hit me hard. I will surely appreciate your advise. Constructive or not I will take wink thanks

So do you know if the person turned back had to pay another visa fee ?
If it's after a second reschedule, then you will have to pay another.

Hello house. I had submitted my ds160 and scheduled an interview but made a mistake in my ds160, so i filled another ds160 and updated my profile. Do i need to take both ds160 confirmation pages to the interview or just the new one? Please help out

Just update your profile with the corrected DS160 code and pray you have 3 working days between the update and youR appointment. You then reprint your appointment page that tallies with the ds160 and take to the embassy.
If it doesn't get to three working days even if your profile is updated to tally, it won't tally with their manuscript they have at the checks. You will be turned back to reschedule.

So sad to hear sad sad

You can schedule immediately once you are able to pay the visa fee. Search for an alias named "nefertitiram" using nairaland search. He has offered a couple of advice on this DS 160 reference number mismatch.

Wishing you all the best.

Thanks a lot @ecoleco

Hello gurus
How long do I have before scheduling another appointment after two turn backs. The latest was yesterday (both as a result of iapplication numbers not matching with theirs on the list)

Dear abujaniv,
I had issues surrounding an incomplete ds160 and my reschedule after the first 'tb' on Tuesday last week was for Thursday last week. Upon realising I couldn't complete my ds160 I immediately used all necessary channels to notify you on this mix-up, knowing my interview was for Monday (24/7/2017) not up to your three traditional working days.
I updated my profile and luckily my appointment page reflected the new code. But to my dismay, the list you had on the checks was having the wrong application number. Tried to explain but no one seemed ready to listen. I felt bad because this is a second reschedule. I felt something better could have been done - probably confirm from your network to see if the change had been effected.
Summarily, I was turned back again, although my mistake...but I felt the Lagos consulate could have done better.
Any tip on what's next as I will like to reapply as soon as possible because my school resumption is very close.
Thanks.. .

Thank you bro I just emailed them and got the reply below :

Thank you for writing to the U.S. Visa Service Desk.

We understand that you want to know how to retrieve your DS160 form.

Kindly note that you will not be able to retrieve and modify information in the DS-160 application once it is completed. If you wish to correct and/or update information, please disregard the old DS-160 application and create a new application, then bring the new DS-160 confirmation page at the time of interview. You can access the DS-160 form in the website https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

Please make sure that the DS-160 barcode number in your profile on www.ustraveldocs.com matches with the barcode number on your DS-160 documents. The Consulate will not permit you to enter or be interviewed at the Embassy if your DS-160 confirmation number is different on what you have in your appointment cofirmation letter. You will be responsible for rescheduling your appointment on another day if they do not match.

You are to ensure that the DS-160 confirmation number on the DS-160 confirmation page matches with the DS-160 number on the appointment confirmation letter. Any changes to the profiles must be made at least 3 working days prior to the scheduled appointment day. It is important that the most recent DS-160 confirmation code matches the DS-160 code on the appointment letter on the day of your appointment. You will be turned back at the Consulate/Embassy if the DS-160 numbers do not match.

Note: Effective immediately, visa applicants who do not upload their photos when submitting their visa application will be turned away and advised to complete their application by uploading a proper photo. This will usually require the rescheduling of their appointment. The process for uploading photos is easy and is thoroughly explained in our on-line application. Avoid disappointment and delay—upload your photo as part of your visa application.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Any one to help with advice

We are in the same situation, what I just did is mail them with attachments of my changed profile (that of the new ds160) and also my appointment page which carries the inassessible ds160 no.
I will print both and hopefully they take the new one in case I don't get a reply.
My appointment is for Monday. I also sent a feedback mail to them yesterday on this point. I hope they acknowledge my mails.

Hope it soothes you a little.

I was in your shoes some weeks ago. Please wait for three business days then apply again on the fourth day so you don't pay another N64k. You will use same Ds160 barcode and update it on the appointment page or you refill a new DS160 form if the expected date of entering the US doesn't elapse when you book another appointment. Feel free to hit me up if you need more clarification.

Thanks @mbagwu. Already hit you up.

Good day house. Will like to know when I could reschedule an appointment that was supposed to be for today. There was a mix-up in the application code as my name on today's list had the code of Abuja (My previous appointment). Meanwhile the DS 160 page I was holding had the new code.
They said I should reschedule it and apologised that it could be a system mix-up. I tried to but can't see the reschedule tab, although I started filling the ds 160.

Happy for all getting their visas approved. Mine is tomorrow at the Lagos consulate. This will be a second trial after a failed attempt in Abuja.
The little problem is I filled in 'no' unknowingly for the question of if I had been denied visa before. Hope it won't count against me. How can I defend myself if it comes up.
Going for a master in theological study. Any tip would do.
Would have posted my transcript but I couldn't log in not until today, but I have been making up by following the thread keenly.

I took part in the PG test on English proficiency and scored 66 in 2015, but still haven't heard from the Institution. Don't know if they have called up those they wanted or something... as I can't get in touch with the Institution. Thanks
