The Lagos State government has announced plans to drop Alphabeta, the tax consultants to the state government linked to former governor, Bola Tinubu. Many watchers of Lagos saw this coming especially as the relationship between Tinubu and his ordained successor, Governor Raji Fashola became strained just before the election with Tinubu hesitating to endorse Fashola's second term. Political pundits who watched the body language of Governor Fashola knew that he was only biding time and tolerating Tinubu's overbearing influence until he got his second and final term. Now that he has got that term, it is no surprise that he has begun to cut Tinubu to size. It is a notorious secret that Tinubu calls the shots in the ACN because of his immense wealth which derives largely from his interest in Alphabete, the notorious tax consultants who collect revenue on behalf of the state government. The complaints of Lagosians is that while Alphabeta may have increased the State's internally generated revenue by over 100%,the remuneration the firm receives is out of all proportion to services it renders. But those have now come to a head as godfather and godson must now come to terms with the balance of power which has shifted ever so slightly away from Tinubu in the direction of Governor Fashola. According to a statement from Mr. Bola Shodipo who is Special Adviser to the Governor on Taxation and Revenue, AlphaBeta's services will no longer be needed as from next year. This expected loss of revenue by Tinubu is expected to have a negative impact on his ability to continue to call the shots in the ACN and by extension in the Southwest. |

When the girl gave birth to a baby boy,the boy look very much like her neighbour when she was still with her parent. This guy was mad bc he knows the guy in question. Trust my guy he just send her packing. Why are some women so desperate. The fact is if ur kid doesnt look like you,it is only DNA test that could prove that its yours. Guys if you are in his shoes what will you do. |
It was another day of tragedy for the people of Plateau State when unidentified gunmen this morning struck at Foron village in Barkinladi Local Government where a family of eight and a visitor to the family were gruesomely murdered. Today’s attack at about 1 a.m. is the fourth of such attacks between Monday and today. An eyewitness who gave her name as Beatrice explained to P.M.NEWS that the attackers came all dressed in black and were more than 30 in number. According to her, the assailants overpowered members of the vigilance group that were keeping vigil because they were better armed. Some other villagers who spoke in anger expressed disappointment over the lax security provided by the Plateau State government since the attacks and killings started in the area this week. They demanded that the state government should withdraw the soldiers posted to the area and allow them to take up arms to face their enemies whom they identified as Fulani herdsmen. They also disclosed because of the manner the assailants came into the village and the route they followed to the house of their victims, they were sure the attackers were Fulani herdsmen. According to them, the attackers came from a village about 10 kilometres away, and the village is predominantly inhabited by Fulani herdsmen. The Barkinladi Local Government Area Chairman, Emmanuel Lomang, who was at the scene of the killing, also expressed dismay over the inability of the soldiers and other security agents to protect the state from such attack. He therefore requested that the state government should beef up security to prevent further bloodshed in the state. Meanwhile, the attack happened a day after the state governor, Jonah Jang returned from a routine health-check overseas. He addressed newsmen yesterday concerning the effort he was making to beef up security to put an end to the killings. However, P.M.NEWS gathered this morning from the attacked village that the battle line has been drawn between the Berom people and the Hausa-Fulani invaders. Some of them, mostly women who spoke at Foron village today vowed that today’s attack on the natives of Plateau will be the last because they will join forces to ward off the attackers. |

FrankNero ФРАНКЛИНУ Ufomadu As A Chemist And Member Of CHEMSOC, I want to speak from a professional point of view. That element displayed here is not a bomb, If the police can tell the truth by inviting professionals, they will tell the whole world what is the content of that wicked gadget. The gadget was planted to kill the doctor and I would like to explain to you how it works. There are two to three compounds in that parcel (I will not disclose their names for security reasons) When the AC is switched on, current will pass into the two heat elements which trigger a spontaneous emission of poisonous gasses as a result of the reaction of the elements due to heat transfer and the electric field acting as a catalyst. The AC INLET will suck the poisonous gas into the doctors office and if he spends between 30 minutes to 2 hours in his office, inhaling the dangerous gas, his lungs will rupture and the blood hemoglobin will also react and in less than 1-3 hours, the doctor will become dizzy and die in his office. Then the person who planted the gadget will remove it after about 2 hours and nobody will discover what happened. It was the same tactics that was used to kill Col. Onyearugbulem by members of PDP in 2002-2003. The doctor should be told the truth, then he should be questioned to know who must be interested in taking over his seat once he is dead. dats the response of a guy on vanguard newspaper online. |
Nigeria’s intelligence agency, the State Security Services, SSS said this morning that it has arrested an Igbo Boko Haram member in Suleja, a suburb of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. The 31-year old indigene of Imo State, according to the SSS, converted to Islam in 2003. SSS also said it uncovered a bomb factory owned by the sect. There have been a series of deadly blasts in Suleja in the past few months. The agency said the factory is where the bombs that have rocked Suleja town and its environs leading to the death of many victims were assembled. The intelligence agency also said it has arrested six persons in connection with the bomb making factory, according to a statement signed by its Assistant Director, Public Relations, Marilyn Ogar. The agency also said it has established that some of the arrested men have links with global terrorist group, al-Qaeda. SSS, however, did not mention the names of the six suspects, but it said in the statement that the suspects were responsible for the bombing of INEC office in Suleja; bombing of All Christian Fellowship Church in Suleja; and the killing of four policemen at Dakwa-Deidei in the FCT. The Security agency said the six men will soon be charged to court. SSS said its investigation was sparked off following the bombings at the INEC office, Suleja on 8 April, 2011 and the All Christian Fellowship Church, Suleja, Niger State on 10 July, 2011. Here is the SSS statement released this afternoon: “Consequently, on 4th August, 2011, a suspect who is a Nigerienne national, was apprehended in connection with the bombing incident in Suleja. He confessed to his involvement in the bombings as well as his membership of the Boko Haram sect. His confession led to the arrest of a thirty-one (31) year old indigene of Imo State who converted to Islam in 2003. “The second suspect, who is born of a Nigerienne mother, was brought up in Niger Republic, where he had his early education. He also admitted to being a member of the Boko Haram sect as well as having worked in concert with a third suspect from Kano State to carry out attacks in Suleja. “Their confessions led to further arrest of two accomplices from Borno State. “The five (5) suspects all confessed that the main supplier of the explosive materials used for their bombing operations is a miner from Nasarawa State who the Service eventually arrested on 30 August, 2011. “They also confessed that they took part in the killing of four policemen at a check-point at Dakwa-Deidei in Bwari Area Council of the FCT on 22nd May, 2011. “Investigation has indeed revealed that the suspects belong to the Boko Haram cell operating in the Suleja-Abuja axis which is under the direction and control of a blood-thirsty Boko Haram leader who is now at large. “Meanwhile, a nondescript building where the Improvised Explosive Devices (I.E.Ds) are assembled has been uncovered at an area popularly known as Chechnya, Hayin-Uku village in Tafa LGA, Niger State. “Among items recovered in the merchandize of death are: one gas cylinder, one battery connected to a detonator, two damaged detonators, one locally made revolver, one gun butt, two knives; ten GSM handsets with SIM cards, one ceiling fan coil; two laptop computers, 37 unused metallic oil filters; two metallic filters primed for bombing, two metallic cylinders, one clock connected to a primed bladeless ceiling fan with 9 volts batteries ready for use, some pieces of shrapnel, a Honda Civic car with Borno State registration number AG 94 MNG, 200 pieces of detonators, some detonating cords (red colour); a Sony remote control, five battery chargers; and a black bag containing detonating cables.” pm news |
