You guys need to tone down on the incessant call for Sebastien, Onyenezide and Ajakaye to be included in the Super Falcons. You don't know how ridiculous it's beginning to sound.

Due to our emotional attachments, we sometimes hype players beyond their current capabilities. Don't get me wrong I believe they have great potentials, but that doesn't necessarily translate into their present reality. Also, age grade competition doesn't mean you can now compete with pros.

Ajakaye for instance was highest goal scorer in the qualifiers in our Zone. When she got to the world stage, she had just one goal and one assist at the u17 level.

Flourish Sebastien is a great talent, but had just 1 goal and zero assist at the u20 level. Same Flourish didn't even start for Bayelsa United at the CAF women's Champion's league had zero goals and suddenly she's better than super falcons players? . Both Flourish and Ajakaye play in the NWFL. How many goals did they have last season? If we had a NWFL team of the season, will they even make the list?

We traditionally take players from the u17/u20 to join the Super falcons campaign to the world cup for many years. This year wasn't any different. We have 3 players from the 2022 u20 squad in the team and 2 of them started the last game. To show how good and improved they are, all of them are no longer in Nigeria. One is playing D1 college football in the US and the other 2 are pros in France.

Let's allow these girls to grow and support them while doing it. If I were Sebastian and Ajakaye, I'll take the Deborah Abiodun route. Get a D1 college team in the US and grow from there. Don't let us hurry these girls before their time. It's how Nwakali got hurried into the super eagles and he's been shut out since then. Let's allow them grow.

You forgot to add that this group of girls recently played the WAFU under 20 and lost the finals to Ghana on penalties.

No one here is talking about Haiti's 🇭🇹 performance against England. Yeah, they lost to England by a retaken penalty but my God, their attack was really what we needed badly against Canada. Football is a teamwork, and not an assiat oshoala work. But the team needs her to click and be explosive as the number 6 of Haiti was. I'm sure Haiti will not go far in this word cup, but certainly, I recon they got a good team and that anything is possible going foward

Ohale, Ucheibe and Abiodun; These 3 players were the defensive bedrock of the team vs Canada. It was hard to believe Abiodun is only 19 and was playing her first world cup match because of how fearless she played. Inexperience still cost her though.

Very true inexperience cost her. I think she committed the foul late in the additional time.

FT: Spain 3-0 Costa Rica

[Campo 21' (og), Bonmatí 23', González 27']

Spain with a comfortable win as Zambia's Group C gets underway.

Didn't we play Costa Rica 🇨🇷 in our series of friendly games leading to the world cup? I remember we played two south American teams. Although costa rica is central America

There is no difference between Ayinde and Abiodun.

There is barely much she can offer than her experience at that role. And in our next game we will need an Abiodun type of athlete. The host nation will play on home advantage. And so we will need a person who can close down and destroy the game play

We defend well, work hard and can soak pressure but our ball retention and passing game is shit

You couldn't have said this better. We need to find a way about our offense. Perhaps we need to play on counter and we need to be clinical.

Better than Ann Chiejine. Best to dorn the jersey for the Super Falcons

Lol. Bandana mummy Ann wasn't in any class distinction when compared to her contemporaries. Today our lady at the goalpost is an "A" level keeper. She gives the fans a confident feeling like having Vincent Enyeama in the goal post.

It's why I'm proud of this result. The girls were playing against Canada and the referees. She hardly called foul in Nigeria's favour but gave Canada the advantage every minute opportunity he got.

Canada had 2 high boot situations that they didn't even check. God pass them sha.

I think the referee was fair to us as well. Her penalty and red card were VAR called. Abiodun should have received a card earlier but didn't get one. While we attacked the ball hit Onumonu's hand off the free kick of payne. So we can't have it all go our way.

This girl should not have been called up for training session.

How many games have u watched her play in this role. She is one for the future. And did a lot of close-down running which was helpful. She was not attacking, but more like an opening or link to hold the ball. While Payne was the Speedstar

Works hard but lacks confidence. Her body language screams "don't pass the ball to me"

Lol. Exactly. I feel she did a decent job. At least no costly errors. But then again she can look at Ohale and learn a thing or two about how she carries out her craft in terms of composure.

No it's not unbelievable. Deb fit more into Randy's plan. The first half was to set up defensively and soak the pressure and that's exactly what they did. It's why Canada has no shot in target.

We may be a little more liberal in the second half.

Yeah. You might be right. Deborah probably needs to quickly understand that going foward in the national team her role will not be much of an offensive player as she played with the junior team. She need to start prepping her mind in the direction of a defensive midfield. Because when we look at her performance defensive-wise, I noticed she excelled quite well. She got the ball and distributes it perfectly well. I was looking at her with the idea that she is an offensive player with some deadly long ball shot. Barring the red card she did perform satisfactorily. She is being moulded to a form of kante like manner.

I remember the argument about Plumptry and Demehin. Honestly Plumptry he been a life wire playing from that position and Demehin can't actually hold the ball. When not under substantial pressure she lacks the calm and composure. The new cats that is Demehin and Abiodun are yet to settle down.

Tell me this opponent got their goal from a screamer or outside-the-box shot or something if not how did the opponents score a goal? If it was a defensive mistake on our side the we still have a lot to do.

You claimed to have been born and bred in the UK, precisely England, the original owners of the language called English, but over time you have proven to be very poor with the language, and you always think ambiguity is a proof for a good command of the language. You really do struggle with simple sentence constructions because your lexis and structures are quite poor.

What makes you think that "five top teams..." is same as "top five teams..."?

I don laugh tire here. To be frank his English composition comprises repetitive patterns. But of course, the English language isn't our mother tongue though.

What's up with our darling super falcon as regards their world cup in a couple of weeks? Are we going to have a great tournament or just like every previous tournament? I already heard Amaju, the former NFF chairman say the next AFCON will be this current administration's first main trophy. He didn't even consider the super falcons and their world cup chances. So what hope is left for we the fans?

Curiosity 🤔

What's happened to the midfield maestro Nwakali the only long ball specialist in Nigeria football ⚽.

Now that Ponferradina has been relegated to the obscurity of semi professional football. Will.nr leaving with his exceptional talent to Napoli or Dortmund ❓

It's quite remarkable that several players previously forgotten about by me as SE quality are now in the EPL.

Elijah and Fred Onyedinma, yes are now EPL players, there has been no mention of them just deathly silence. But we never stop talking about Nwakali the midfield maestro.

Although I have not felt Fred Onyedinma is SE Quality I've believed without any hesitation he is way better than Nwakali.

Now let's see his progression in the EPL.

What happened to Jamilu Collins he left Bundisliga to Championsip side Cardiff but became anonymous albeit injury did not help.

You have won, are u now happy

Yes I know.

But what we do is sweep over all these issues in a wave of sentiment based bias and pretend these issues don't exist.

And begin to declare our players as world class and the next best thing and call them generational talent.

We have a Nigerian playing youth football ⚽ in inter Milan and we are claiming generational talent at 18 (and if you want to go further that age could be easily disputed)

How many 18 years old are currently regarded as generational talent in European football? The last I knew of was Kylian Mbappe..

the difference between both is that Nnadi presently is playing men’s football in Bulgaria while Eletu is playing primavera football in Italy.

When watching Eletu play you will accept the fact that the guy talent wise is superior to others in the team despite his young age. He’s football intelligence and technique is above others while Nnadi comes second from my observation but currently the latter tops him due to the exposure and experience of playing men’s football

Both are for the future but currently I think Nnadi is more ready. Eletu is massively talented but needs more time.

In a season or two a move out on loan to midtable serie A or serie B teams will aid he’s development

That's true, definitely, eletu will have the longest career of them all because he look really young to possess that high level of skill and compete at this level. He will surpass many of these guys with time because he is in a better place to develop his skill set coupled with his youthful age. All he needs is the discipline and drive he will surely be a beauty of a star in future.

From my analyses, I literally said this...

"Nnadi is a such a pearl in the middle of this Nigerian side. He brings the energy, the intensity and that decent level of technicality in our progressive vertical plays. Call him the "Michael Essien" of this team and you won't be far from the truth. A box to box demon.
His role vs Argentina ensured that Daga didn't have to go Box-to-Box this time. Nnadi's role interpretation was key to why Daga was able to focus solely on sitting in front of the back 4 and screening that defence with Poise and class."

Ask yourself why Nnadi was picked vs Argentina in midfield and Eletu dropped.

Both are fantastic young talents but they have their merits and demerits.

Exactly the energy and the balance he gave the team was clear to see and appreciate.
