Marjoribanks: It is simply delusional to think just 1 year support brought this success. lol! They came in when she was already breaking records upon records at NCAA. Normal norm for developing countries. How many of their Athletes got the same support?
When did she leave St Lucia? From where did she join Texas Tech, and what year? lol! Will USA grant its A list athletes diplomatic passport ? |

lovewins: Under FIBA rules, when there's a 4 way ties at the top you consider only the head to head to head result not the overall group result. In this case. Nigeria, France and Australia all have 5 points with 2 wins and 1 loss. If you calculate the point differential amongst these 3 teams,
FRANCE: 14 AUSTRALIA: -6 NIGERIA: -8
It's why they could do the permutations before we played yesterday. At that point everybody's game against Canada won't be considered, only the games amongst the 3 teams will be considered Oh wow. Thank you. So we shouldn't have lost to France by that wide margin. Maybe we would have been able to avoid USA |

Subzerooo: I may be very wrong but I think Boniface is close to his ceiling or already reached his ceiling, there is more to improvement than experience and more gametime it has majorly to do with searing hunger and determination and Boniface does not have that, not even close to the level of Osimhen Maybe you watch his social media stories a lot. |

AndSunGorilla: We seem to have a short memory. We were put in a group of death!!!! I honestly didn't expect the girls to make it out of the group considering the calibre and pedigree of teams in our group.
I am proud that they pushed Spain and Brazil to the wire and infact with some luck they could have gotten wins or draws against Brazil and Spain. Waldrum should be allowed to continue in my opinion but he should be given the target of winning the next AFCON. After today's round of games and seeing the way the 3 teams we lost to at the group stages pushing above their weights today I'd say we did well. Japan losing in 120 mins to USA Spain coming back from 2 goals down against Columbia Brazing trouncing host France Nigeria certainly did well. Our third game against Japan I'd say the girls lost motivation after losing their first two games and that aftected us during the course of the game. |

My favourite footballer of all time
Ah God. But please this your caption "busts net" don't you think it is too much. The way you rather made me rush with happiness in expectation of a net busting curler or something but was disappointed to see it was a pass into the net. |

The VAR needs to do better on some things. That Japan's goal that was disallowed for offside against Spain today is one panful one. |

yinkeys: Oshoala & Abiodun won my heart today. They really showed their class in my opinion Don’t know why coach took out Ucheibe though Demehin has a long way to go before she can be as great as Ohale Giving away unnecessary free kick around your box carelessly. Overall they did good. Tactics was spot on but tiny margins & capitalizing on errors win games We didn’t take our chances I never thought you could appreciate them in the least sense of it |

yinkeys: I’m curious to know what game plans Mr. Waldrum will come up with Spain are a very difficult team They have tricky forwards. If it’s me I’d tell them to try to go physical without getting cards Kick every ball to throwing for 90 mins Just distort flow of play Let’s play a rough messy game No time Kilode. Even when it comes to gulf in class, by how many goals did the USA beat Zambia, by 3 goals. And you expect Super Falcons who is capable of playing USA in their home ground , capable of playing France and losing by a lone goal, capable of playing England and losing on penalties to play with fear. No way. There is no reason to fear, we have our game plan, albeit a defensive style . But to go play the Spanish side with fear is the last thing on the girls mind. Yesterday, the Guinean male team failed to beat the French team in a game that they should have won handsomely, but may the misfortune and lack of proper tactics of Guinea not befall our team. This Spanish side will not even win the tournament, so why play them with fear. As for me, I am going to enjoy the game and I know we will win , even though it will be a close one. And if there are any waiting for the opportunity to say I told you so, it is their own palava. |

lovewins: Not surprising really. Fortune favours the bold and you can't fault Oma for many things, being timid isn't one of them. He's that person who will take an unpopular, sometimes ridiculous position yes stand boldly by it. Also when he gets his emotions out of the way he's quite good at his job.
Like you said his reaction his personal. He's opined publicly severally that his son will prioritise Germany over Nigeria. Don't think he's doing this because of anybody, he's doing this because of his son. I remember Oma's colleagues on Top radio back then always asking and wondering why Oma loved to be controversial as well as so engaging on his Twitter back then. I think it was Charles Anazodo who asked him this on the sport gang programme. The others found it funny that they can't just do what he does with people who they didn't know personally , and aren't any sport authority but social media critics. It was a very casual banter that day that lasted about 10 minutes on the program. In Oma's defense he made it known that he was up to it, his opinion were his , and he was fully aware of his mindset regarding such engagement that resulted into insults and abuses. So at that point I understood it was Oma just being Oma. |

mostob: I don't want it to look as if I'm forcing agenda here but someone should check and analyse the two bolded please.
My question is, who is the coach? who is in charge of calling up 'personnel'? A coach that went to tourney with just 2 central defenders. He sidelined Rinsola and picked unfit Ifeoma even when there were 2 CF in the team already. Look there will be some level of bias and I can understand where this bias is coming from. Ifeoma to Randy is sort of a relationship of bias feelings. Ifeoma as an individual is quite intelligent with a gentle spirit. To the team she has been committed and has been playing for a while. She is as American as Randy and that makes him appreciate her better. She may not be the best but then she always wants to give her full average to the team. |

Deltamani: Sports Minister John Enoh, NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau and FIFA Council Member Amaju Pinnick with the Falcons in the dressing room after the match against Brazil in Bordeaux. Obviously the girls themselves are not too happy with their own performance..what we can do is to encourage them and cheer them like those at the helm of affairs ..but for now they should desist from TikTok videos |

Deltamani: Stats don't lie...
SuperFalcons gave their all against Brazil, But I think Randy Waldrum choice of starting Echegini on the left flank failed him.. She was supposed to fight for the AM spot with Toni Payne. When Toni was messing up in Midfield, Echegini was supposed to come in and sort things out..
It was a very cagey affair. I felt Nigeria should have left the field with a draw at least.
Randy should have started Kanu and maybe brought on Okoronkwo to the left flank. It will be unfair to think Randy didn't want to win the match. He knew well Brazil was the weakest team in the group hence starting Payne and Echeigini to create chances alongside Rashidat , football is quite tricky and if we had converted our initial chance that fell to Ihezuo, perharps it could have been a different tale at the end. However, we still showed some lapses in our defense which was exploited by Brazil and that cost us. We can maintain the same tactics which guarantees a solid and compact defense, utilizing our early opportunity, while frustrating our next opponent and hopefully this will create a different pendulum swing in our favour. The mentality of the girls is excellent. And they fought till the end. |

Pidginwhisper: Me i no dey understand all these criticisms i dey see Ooooo. These girls are not doing badly for me. They just need to take their chances and concentrate Don't mind them. They played well. I still feel we could have had another friendly match after Canada but that's okay with Brazil, though I fear that we might have played the weakest team but we are equally capably of beating Spain and Japan. We clearly had a loss of concentration and Brazil were there to grab it. In terms of balance of play, we can play any team any day. |

daveP: You must be Goating(kidding will be an understatement)
Did you see how that goal was conceded? And the terrible decisions made? Are the Brazilians doing anything special to be ahead? And if we lose, nobody will remember we were doing okay until silly loss of concentration at this stage ruined efforts of others. If you can't demand better and it is "typical nigerians" to you, then i dunno what will convince you sha.
Decision making and terrible passes is killing our attack. We are helping the brazilians feel special because of that. That should trigger anger in any Falcons fan. Relax. We will win our next match. We played well. Made a couple of cheap mistakes but we learnt equally, with our substitution and tactical changes. I'm sure we can beat Spain by a goal to nil |
