Method 3 also brought out voLTE toggle on my max 2. Not sure what benefit it has on ntel network though.

Thanks. Method 3 worked, previously VoLTE was missing and it was not possible to toggle it from phone information but after trying the method, it worked.

I used the third method to get the voLTE enabled on my xiaomi MI max 2. Not sure what difference it makes to my ntel service though.

You could try these methods below

Method 1.
First of all, Change your region to India. Then go to network setting and make sure VoLTE toggle is enabled, then reboot. If VoLTE still doesn't come up, try method 2.


Method 2.
While your region is still in India, dial *#*#4636#*#* and enter the Phone information of your ntel sim. Scroll down and make sure VoLTE toggle is enabled. If it is and VoLTE still hasn't come up, then reboot. If after rebooting and you still don't have VoLTE, then try method 3.


Method 3.
While your region is still in India, dial *#*#86583#*#*, then reboot. If VoLTE doesn't come up, then change region back to Nigeria and go to network settings. If VoLTE switch is missing, then dial *#*#86583#*#* and reboot again.

And finally I've joined the xaiomi family courtesy of macbeyland. Those using redmi 5plus 4/64GB should welcome me. If you're in Port Harcourt and need xaiomi or someone to trade face to face, he's the real deal at least he offered me pay on delivery. So once locked, the thief can't flash new rom via one of the flash tools on PC?

To unlock, he'll first have to apply for the unlock permission. Which is impossible since he doesn't know your mi account login details. So the phone is useless to him now.

You can also set a message that will always display once it's powered on. The message could be that it's a stolen phone. Then you can go ahead and add your phone numbers in case the new owner intends to contact you.
