PoliticsRe: Show Some Compassion For Turai by macroworld: 8:55pm On Feb 27, 2010
I am disappointed at the level of filth coming through on nairaland these days. It is gradually turning from a forum where you can discuss sensibly to some filth place. Its bad enough that someone could post some disturbing sexual images on these sites and its worse that nairaland would not follow a moral path to removing such filth. I have noted in recent times that people find images or some statements disturbing and advise Seun or the moderator to remove it and nothing happens. Its just coming across to me that Seun and his staff do not give a damn to concerns of people who use the forum.

If this is Nairaland's disposition to morality, then that is concerning. For this reason, I would follow the path of morality and cease to read or contribute to Nairaland. Its a shame because there are so many Nigerians and foreigners who contribute positively to this site.

I wish everyone who use Nairaland the best, but I can not stand the level of filth that comes through on this site, as in the example of this thread.
I am sure there are other Nigerian fora around that are morally sound and have intelligent discussions on, I only need to google and evaluate the contents on the sites.

Bye for now Nairalanders

PoliticsRe: Hillary Clinton Blames Nigeria Leaders For Extremism by macroworld: 8:03pm On Jan 27, 2010
Whenever Hillary talks about Nigeria you get a clue as to what happens next. The last time she visited Nigeria she referred to Nigeria's link with international terrorism. Some months later Abdul Muttallab happened. Though there are still a lot of unanswered questions around the attempted bombing especially around US.

Now please note a statement from the report that was claimed she made to some State Department Officials as below.

"I do think that Nigeria faces a threat from increasing radicalisation that needs to be addressed, and not just by military means" she said.

So does this mean that the US are planning or have planned some "military" activities against Nigeria ?
When she said "not just by Military mean", does she mean it would be stretched further than just military means and could involve US occupation of Nigeria and so on. I think we need to be concerned by that Statement and it might be a good idea if she did some clarification as to what she meant by Military means. This might be necessary for the good of both US and Nigeria especially because some American and Nigerian Citizens are of the opinion that the attempted bombing was a set-up to justify military actions against Nigeria just like Iraq etc. More so because of the so many unanswered questions around the attempted bombing. Like the update of the bombers activities ( almost 2 weeks) in Ghana, the guy who was supposed to have assisted him unto the flight at Amsterdam as witnessed by Kurt Haskell, the Lawyer who was also a passenger on the plane, the other person who was arrested from the same flight after bomb sniffing dog was on him as witnessed by Kurt Haskell and another passenger confirming the arrest etc, the list is endless.

Yes, US or any Country fighting terrorism should be supported, but at the back of this, clarifications are needed over some ambiguities around this whole development.
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Mozambique African Nations Cup 3-0 by macroworld: 10:26pm On Jan 20, 2010
In my opinion Yakubu's playing was good today. I appreciate the stamina in which he moved through to pass the the ball on for the second goal. In fairness to him, he did the job for that goal. That second goal was crucial to the success of the match in that it demoralised the opponent a bit. We should not also forget Yakubu scored the only goal against Benin, that turned the table after the Egypt defeat. He is a useful member of the team and should not be written off. On the other hand Osaze and Martin ( for his limited time on the pitch) both did brilliantly in attacking position.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria To Allow Armed U.s. Air Marshals On Flights by macroworld: 2:27am On Jan 15, 2010
The name of the passenger on the flight who was sitting well behind Mutallab is Rachelle Keepman. Between her and Mutallab was this cameraman. She noticed the guy filming. Please find below one of the links to the many writings on the issue. Please note that as of that time of writing this cameraman ! has not come forward, but hang on a minute, I thought FBI questioned and interrogated everyone in the luggage area, did they not get his details then ?

http://www.prisonplanet.com/man-videotaped-underwear-bomber-on-flight-253.html

Please note that Rachelle claimed that this guy was "calm" when recording.  calm under a likely terrorist attack condition ?
PoliticsRe: Nigeria To Allow Armed U.s. Air Marshals On Flights by macroworld: 1:15am On Jan 15, 2010
Bandit C, Thanks, even full American citizen's want some answers to establish their Country is not playing up. I personally think the best way to clear this whole air is for a thorough investigation which is independent of US and Nigeria. At the end of the day integrity must prevail.

The other aspect of this case that is of concern is:

1. If Haskell's claim of some smartly dressed guy helping the suspected bomber on the plane was wrong>
   a) Why has the smartly dressed guy not come forward and claim who he was and he is not an Agent?
   b) Why has the KLM/ Delta Staff an the final boarding gate not come forward and tell of his/her story?
   c) Why has Amsterdam/ Schipol not released the CCTV footage of Mr. Heskell's case that that mutallab was helped by a suspected agent?

2. Another passenger claimed someone was filming in the aircraft>
   a) Who was this person ?
   b) If this person was filming coincidentally, he would have come forward or sold his footage to the press for some serious money, nothing is forthcoming.
   c) Was the person filming had a crystal ball and knew something dramatic was going to happen on the flight ?

3. The other person that Haskell claimed was also arrested throws up some calls for concern.
    a) Who was this Indian guy whose bag was sniffed and arrested. As soon as he was sniffed, Haskell claimed they were told to immediately evacuate the area. This suggests bomb was found in his hand luggage, I would guess ?
     b) Why was his arrest not aired by the press but only Mutallab's?
     c) Haskell claimed FBI initially did not make a claim that a second person was arrested. Later on Haskell claimed FBI admitted ( after days) that someone else was arrested. Haskell now claimed that story have now changed and FBI is now claiming the person arrested was not travelling on that same plane?
     d) Could this be possible, when initially Haskell claimed all the passengers coming off the flight was separated for interrogation/ interviewing by FBI and this was when they suddenly brough sniffer dogs and this Indian man standing metres away from Haskell was sniffed and Interrogated and arrested?

4. One thinking is why would mutallab or those supposedly assisting him not want him to go through with his passport at Amsterdam. Could it be that they would send his name through on the manifest to US for pre-flight clearance and this would be matched with the Interest list by Homeland security ( which his name is on). I believe this is the usual practice ? Did US confirm that his name was sent through on the manifest before the flight took off.

There is so much silence over the nitty gritty of this case and this is meant to be a major issue. My argument is Nigerian government should be asking questions on this and other associated issues. Except if people just want to let things go, I do not think anyonehas got to the bottom of this.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria To Allow Armed U.s. Air Marshals On Flights by macroworld: 9:11pm On Jan 14, 2010
I think we need to be very careful here and I am sure we are, by reading some of the intelligent postings on this topic.  There is a need to get to the bottom of the Mutallab's bombing case to establish that the US is not involved in either setting him up etc. There are quite a lot of unanswered questions around the whole incidents that calls for questioning. Nigeria for some reasons seems to be going along with the US "plan" in my opinion. If I was investigating this whole case, I would investigate US as much as I investigate the bomber Mutallab. Only God knows what happened but there are enough reasons to develop some lines of enquiries just to ensure that US was not involved. Some of the points are>

1. The two weeks he spent in Ghana, doing what ? The backdrop to this is the military link between Ghana and US. Also he bought his ticket in dollars in Ghana. It was claimed he left Yemen on the 7th Dec, arrived Ghana on the 9th December and then left Ghana for Lagos on the 24th December. Except if other intelligence emerge as per international movement, that means he was in Ghana between the 9th and 24th December ( Around 2 weeks). We have not heard much about his movement in, inland and out of the Country. Don't tell me Ghana airport or whereever he stayed does not have witnesses or CCTV ? Intelligence since to be quite around that part of his Journey. This is two weeks before a terrorist struck. This should be the most important part of his movement that should be combed. One could even follow a line of enquiry if he prepared for his disgraceful act there.

2. Kurt Haskell a Lawyer claimed that a smartly dressed Indian man requested to assist Mutallab unto the flight at Amsterdam. He was of the opinion that the smartly dressed man might be an agent. Kurt Haskell if you google him was a passenger on the flight from Amsterdam with Abdul Mutallab without a passport claiming he is from Sudan While some critics have claimed maybe he say another person, he claimed it was the Mutallab and has challenged the Amsterdam airport to release the CCTV coverage of the boarding lounge where he saw Mutallab and this smartly dressed Indian Guy. I do not think they have released the footage. Even if this case is not established, so some smartly dressed people can get people unto a plane without a passport !

3. This same Haskell guy claimed that another Indian man who was on the flight was also arrested after his bag was sniffed by sniffer dogs. He witnessed this when they were at the baggage area. The kept them specially there to be questioned. Haskell noticed that the Indian guy was arrested and taking away.I would imagine because a bomb was on him. We have heard nothing about the arrest as much as the Nigerian bomber. Haskell claimed that the second arrest was initially denied.

My point is no one seems to be questioning some of these concerns and satisfy that US is not playing up.

This coupled with the recent 5 American citizens arrested in Pakistan recently makes you to wonder if US should not be on a list of interest of some sort. Also if it is established that there is a US involvement in the Mutallab's case then that should be concerning for the world at large.

There should be some concern if this is not part of a dirty agenda against Nigeria.

My other concern is why Nigeria is not investigating some of these areas of concerns. Something is not quite right ?

Please also note that Mutallabs Visa finished in Yemen in September, he did not leave the country until the December. Yemen authorithy would have interogated him etc, they take such seriously. This also did not happen. Seems like there is a big power behind his movements internationally ? What happened when he left Yemen on the 7th of December and the 9th that he showed up in Ghana ? Limited/ sketchy information as well. God help Nigeria !

PoliticsRe: Us Senate Invites Mutallab's Father by macroworld: 12:51am On Jan 13, 2010
There is one funny aspect of all this that i just noticed . . .

1. someone just told me today that CIA Headquarters is in Ghana.

2. Was he in Ghana for the two weeks mentioned above.

3. Are you trying to tell that despite that CIA Headquarters is in Ghana yet somehow the CIA did not know about him considering that there was a 2 weeks gap before he even reached Lagos. . . .

Please give me a break . . . this is really starting to smell like some people in US were involved in what Farouk did . . . cus I simply refuse to believe the CIA Headquarted in Ghana did not know about him . . .

Moreover . . . why did he go to Ghana, since he is not a Ghanian . .

If US has a strong base in Ghana then the whole scenario is beginning to make sense. There are some other concerning issues around the case and would possibly need some further answers.

1. A lawyer called Kurt Haskell ( please Google ) who claimed he was on the same flight with Abdul Mutallab from Amsterdam. He claimed he witnessed that a well dressed man attempted to help the bomber onto the plane. He overheard the well dressed man making up stories that he is from Sudan and does not have a passport. Kurt claimed that the well dressed man looked of Indian origin and around 50 years old. The staff at the the flight check-in point refused but referred both the well dress man and the bomber to Manager. They both left. Kurt claimed that when the bomb saga happened on the flight he recognised Abdul Mutallab as the person who was brought to the boarding gate with this well dressed Indian gentleman. His concern was if this well dressed man was an agent. He is asking for the CCTV of the boarding lounge at Amsterdam to be released, but I am not sure if this has happened

2. This same Lawyer Kurt and his Partner Lori claimed that everyone on the flight were interviewed at the baggage area. At some point, the security agent came with some Sniffer dogs and was on an Indian man who was on the flight. The man was whisked away and arrested according to Kurt Haskell. Kurt is of the Opinion that he was arrested because there was probably bomb material in his bag. Thus according to this witness two people were arrested from the Flight Abdul Muttalab and someone else. The report I read claimed initially US authorities denied the second arrest but later claimed it.

3. Another female passenger on the flight noticed that someone in the flight was recording around abdul mutalab.

I think there are some questions that needs answered to confirm what went on before, during and after the plane landed

It is almost tempting to suggest an international investigation into the issue, which is independent of US and Nigeria to get to the bottom of what happened and put peoples mind at rest.
The bottom line is as a nation we condemn terrorism in all its form but there is a need for a wider investigation on a global scale to establish some dark aspect of this case.
PoliticsRe: Us Senate Invites Mutallab's Father by macroworld: 10:46pm On Jan 11, 2010
Inviting him when a court case is going on seems rather strange and odd. If more information is needed from him, there are CIA etc agents in Nigeria. Can they not ask him the questions and pass on to the Senate ? Also SSS interviewed him, I would imagine there should be an intelligence exchange protocol between those agencies. Something is not quite right ? There are so many unanswered questions about the case. There is still no information about :

1. How he left Yemen with an expired visa and he was not questioned, normally he should have been questioned.
2. How he spent his time in Ghana. Ghana claimed he arrived on the 9th of Dec. He left Yemen on the 7th of December? Two days gap?
3. He left Ghana on the 24th and arrived Lagos as claimed by Nigeria, that is almost two weeks, these are critical to the investigation.
4. Details of his fathers reporting to both Nigeria and US Agencies and what information or intelligence triggered his reporting to such agencies.
5. Details of the conversation he last had with his Son etc
6. Most of the airports he went through have CCTV. Its only Nigeria MMA that is willing to share information with others

There are loads of unanswered questions.

I am wondering if this should be happening after the Judgement of his son ?

He might have some vital information. The information could be extracted from him without leaving Nigeria.
Also why summon or invite him on the same day his son pleaded not guilty ?

US senate do invite people from other countries my only concern is the timing of this. Its a bit odd
