PoliticsRe: Ogun Awards Six-lane Road Contract To Chinese Company by macroworld: 5:34pm On Aug 27, 2011
This is a brilliant Idea. I like the idea of 6 lanes which will ease the a lot of Traffic logjam some Nigeria Cities face. This is doing what is fit-for- Nigerian- Purpose.
PoliticsRe: No Going Back On Recognition Of New Libyan Government - GEJ by macroworld: 5:28pm On Aug 27, 2011
I am of the opinion we should at least have adopted Ghana's policy of the issue by still waiting and observing situations.
No one still knows what the end game is on this issue is if one looks objectively beyond the veil of the media Propaganda we have been
consuming for some days now.
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Claim Responsibility For Abuja Bombing - BREAKING NEWS by macroworld: 11:45am On Aug 27, 2011
I believe there is an international dimension to all this. God will expose those who are behind it.
PoliticsRe: Can Jonathan Really Handle Things In Nigeria? by macroworld: 11:41am On Aug 27, 2011
The issue is not a just a Presidency issue or just some other arm of Govt. Nigeria needs to embark on a comprehensive intelligence gathering on this
issue. This should leave no stone unturned both local and international.
BusinessRe: Business Ideas For Stay At Home Mum. by macroworld: 11:35am On Aug 27, 2011
Try Online Marketing by working with an established Company that has network Marketing.
I know of a Woman who works from Home and makes around $20,000 a Month Marketing online for
a Company. There are quite a few examples of such.

The world we are living in is Changing, a decent part of wealth creation is now made by
people working from home and not just big Corporations.

Pick up Robert Kiyosaki's book titled the business school

The good thing with most of this business is that the start up costs are minimal in comparison to
normal business. In most of this businesses, you don't even have to stock product etc etc

I wish you the best.

BusinessRe: Will A Laundromat Business Boom In Nigeria? by macroworld: 11:29am On Aug 25, 2011
I would imagine there is a need for the business in Nigeria. Just do a Proper feasibility appraisal. This should include demographic analysis, location etc.
Target the right audience and it can be successful. Depending on the audience you are targeting, you might even have add-on services.

You also need to embark on some consumer Behavioural analysis.

I can raise some questions below to get that objective thinking going.

1. Will it be in a very affluent area where everyone already has a Washing Machine drier at Home?
2. Will it be in an area where People have access to House help who do their washings for them?
3. Will the group in number two move to your business, if you offer them good value?
4. What value will you offer them to make it worth it?
5. Because they are working class, will you offer them a service of leaving their laundry in the morning and collect in the evening?
What is the impact of above point on Staffing Cost to you ?
6. You also need to build issues that are Unique to Nigeria into your cost appraisal like electricity supply and the need for you to power your machines with generator on a continuous basis or at least when electricity fails.

It is a good business, but just raised some of the issues above to inform your decision.

I wish you the very best.

AdvertsRe: Methological Coal Needed by macroworld: 11:07am On Aug 25, 2011
I have not heard of that type of Coal before. Please find below some information about Types of Coal. Get back to them and find out more information. I wish you the best.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As geological processes apply pressure to dead biotic material over time, under suitable conditions it is transformed successively into:

* Peat, considered to be a precursor of coal, has industrial importance as a fuel in some regions, for example, Ireland and Finland. In its dehydrated form, peat is a highly effective absorbent for fuel and oil spills on land and water
* Lignite, also referred to as brown coal, is the lowest rank of coal and used almost exclusively as fuel for electric power generation. Jet is a compact form of lignite that is sometimes polished and has been used as an ornamental stone since the Upper Palaeolithic
* Sub-bituminous coal, whose properties range from those of lignite to those of bituminous coal are used primarily as fuel for steam-electric power generation. Additionally, it is an important source of light aromatic hydrocarbons for the chemical synthesis industry.
* Bituminous coal, dense sedimentary rock, black but sometimes dark brown, often with well-defined bands of bright and dull material, used primarily as fuel in steam-electric power generation, with substantial quantities also used for heat and power applications in manufacturing and to make coke
* Steam coal is a grade between bituminous coal and anthracite, once widely used as a fuel for steam locomotives. In this specialized use it is sometimes known as sea-coal in the U.S.[5] Small steam coal (dry small steam nuts or DSSN) was used as a fuel for domestic water heating
* Anthracite, the highest rank; a harder, glossy, black coal used primarily for residential and commercial space heating. It may be divided further into metamorphically altered bituminous coal and petrified oil, as from the deposits in Pennsylvania
* Graphite, technically the highest rank, but difficult to ignite and is not so commonly used as fuel: it is mostly used in pencils and, when powdered, as a lubricant.

The classification of coal is generally based on the content of volatiles. However, the exact classification varies between countries. According to the German classification, coal is classified as follows:[6]
InvestmentRe: I Want To Withdraw From My Pension Fund Account! by macroworld: 11:00am On Aug 25, 2011
I suggest you seek proper financial advice from an expert. There are quite a few questions and reasoning at play here.

1. Your pension is an investment into your future
2. MBA is an investment into your immediate future.
3. Do you have immediate funds to sustain the Pension in the meantime.
4. There is an issue or interplay of money and time here.

Thus it will be worthwhile to sit down with a financial adviser to do an Options Appraisal with you and then do a Cost and Benefit analysis on the key Options chosen. At the end of the day the final decision will rest with you.

I am not pointing you in any direction, but I did my MBA years and years ago and must be honest with you that it opens up your thinking to a higher level and increases your chances in life.

I wish you the best.
PropertiesRe: Collect More Than 6 Months’ Rent, Go To Jail, Fashola Tells Landlords by macroworld: 10:33am On Aug 25, 2011
Its the willingness of the Government to enforce it. Anything is enforceable if there is a will. In the least, the enforcement could be be by delegated Authority to Local governments, who already have various local enforcement functions in place. Obviously, it will involve some funding and system.

If he has failed in one aspect/ Project of the power sector, why should he be moved to another. Part of the energy, focus and resources that is meant to further the project will now be diverted to monitoring his work?
Foreign AffairsRe: Have Libyans Made A Huge Mistake By Removing Gaddafi? by macroworld: 4:55pm On Aug 24, 2011
All your arguments are well founded and balanced. My only concern is why are the Citizens who have benefited from such State Support not supporting the government at this time. I am personally not sure what is happening here, because if Nigerians have such a leader. government and system that uses integral proportion of the revenue from its natural resources to support its People Like the Libyan example highlighted above. I am 100% certain that Nigerians will rally round such a leader, no matter what the propaganda or externalities are.  I am aware there will be argument about length of leadership, Leadership style ( harsh) and so on.
HealthRe: Nafdac Shuts 10 Fake Drug Stores In Ekiti by macroworld: 9:38am On Aug 24, 2011
While it is good to tackle the issue from the retail point. It will be good to extend this to the manufacturer of such dangerous drugs. They are doing a good job.
PoliticsRe: Us Has ‘strategic Interest’ In Nigeria’s Power Sector – Envoy by macroworld: 9:34am On Aug 24, 2011
Nigeria should open its options and look at the best offer on the table. I believe the Country can do a comprehensive Technical Options Appraisal on this issue and go for the best. An example is a research I picked up not too long ago that Japan might even be exploring the possibility of using LNG as an alternative to nuclear electricity power. Nigeria Produces LNG. These are some of the options Nigeria should be exploring as well.
PoliticsRe: Okonjo-iweala, Nnaji Lead Charge For Stable Power Supply by macroworld: 9:21am On Aug 24, 2011
It does make Strategic sense for her to be involved. All the Economic growth Plans and Projections will be more effective with adequate power supply. Thus in the case of Nigeria, there is a somewhat overlap between Economic development and Efficient and effective energy supply.
TV/MoviesRe: A New Nollywood; Is Nollywood Getting Any Better? by macroworld: 9:11am On Aug 24, 2011

Music/RadioRe: Does Nigeria Have An Official Music Chart? by macroworld: 9:02am On Aug 24, 2011
There is a system that underpins sum aggregate sales of music over a given period. This is what determines the charts, thus top 10, 20, 40 or any number. I do not think Nigeria has a macro system that track retailers/ online sales/ air play. Different Radio stations might have theirs. Also I think we need to be reviewing if in Nigeria what will be more useful will be a rating based on Sales, Airplay, a combination of both or based on other basis. I think the Country is due for an Official Music Chart. It will put Nigeria's music industry into some better structure both from Consumption and Production Perspectives.
BusinessRe: Can A Man Hide From His Fears by macroworld: 2:49pm On Aug 23, 2011
It is better to confront the fear. At most times,it is not easy, but that is life, take the bull by the horn. It is good for a man to face hs fear and then become a Champion.

Prayerfully approach your fear. At times analyse the fear, what is the worst that will happen ?

I wish you the best.

BusinessRe: What Business Can I Do With N1.4m? by macroworld: 2:21pm On Aug 23, 2011
I am just thinking maybe you want to nail the question down to some specifics.

Things like possible location etc might help to generate some answers.
A good example is that you initial outlay will give you different mileage in dfferent parts of the Country

At one end of the location spectrum would be Lagos/ abuja etc in which the Capital outlay might not go far enough considering
other costs that might be sunk with the outlay. At the other end of the spectrum might be a going into farming in a another state apart from Lagos/ FCT, which might give your Initial 1.4 some mileage.

Also are you thinking of Manufacturing or going into the service industry. Perhaps some more specifcs or at least having a basic framework might help kick the discussion going.

I wish you the best.
AgricultureRe: Which Is Profitable Between Poultry And Piggery Farming? by macroworld: 2:13pm On Aug 23, 2011
I would advise you approach it from a Business analysis stand point.

1. Do a Comparative analysis of both Poulty and Piggery
2. Do a Market analysis for both
3. Do a Risk appraisal for both
4. Do an Options appraisal for both
5. You financial outlay also comes into play. If a risk emerges, would you have the cost to control it, e.g urgent medical attention etc
6. Your Market appraisal, No 2 should be relevant to your intended location of operation.
7. Pick up a decent book or Journal on both and get some further insights into both operations.
8. Visit or make friends with people who are into both businesses and get some real-life insights from them
I hope all goes well !
