Please read the contents of this link. I really wish Chris Okotie would face his own church and stop commenting on other peoples choice of worship or faith, http://listverse.com/2008/07/14/top-10-astonishing-miracles/ |
I couldnt agree more with Onenewman, Nigerians!!!!!!!!!!!! When will all these tribal insults stop ![]() Nairaland used to be seen as a very important research tool and a veritable treasure for authentic research on Nigeria especially in far away lands. People would always go to Nairaland to get a 'feel' of Nigeria, it was a wonderful ambassador. I along with so many other people hardly come to this site anymore. Its now just a tribal bashing site, not particularly taken seriously by anyone. This I predict will be the beginning of the end of Nairaland as it just upsets and hurts too many people. I guess the owner of the site allows such tribal insults in order to attract traffic but believe me, when it gets to the point it has got to now, it is all over, mark my words, respectable and serious minded people have started visiting other rival sites which I wont name. What a shame on Nairaland, what a shame on the people who use the annonymity of the site to say thiings they would ordinarily shy away from, is that how your parents taught you?? So very sad. By the way, I am a Yoruba woman with friends and family all over Nigeria, they mean a lot to me and I refuse to be a part of this, not in my name!!!!!! Shame on Seun for not moderating his site with a sense of profound responsibility to himself, Nigeria and posterity!! |
Dear Nairalanders, I would love us to discuss objectively, without insults and personal agendas, the benefits, political, economic, social etc of a divided Nigeria. Let us look at this from both the internal advantages of each new 'country' and very importantly, also on the international scene. The direction our dear country has been heading in the last few years makes this scenario something that may be staring us in the face and which we will have to deal with perhaps sooner than later. A look at the pros and cons of such eventuality will prove to be a very useful exercise in that it will clarify the consequences of such division, both good and bad and enable people to have better information upon which to have a quality opinion devoid of sentiment and prejudice . |
So with all the problems Nigeria is facing, why should this be a problem or priority?? So long as they are consenting adults and do their business privately it is no ones business. They should spend the time, energy and resources planning how to stop stealing our money and how to develop Nigeria. |
At the end of the day, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, what I cant get over is the nasty and crude language that is used to give a contrary opinion! As a non Ibo who has read widely on the Biafran war, I do believe that it is a cruel and terrible part of our history that must be addressed and put to rest thereafter. Most Wars in recent history have had some form of reconciliation fact finding Commission/Tribunal that has investigated atrocities committed that are contrary to civilized rules of war. Horrific things were inflicted on Easterners in the name of The Federal Republic of Nigeria, which means in the name of any Nigerian who was not from the East. Apart from the spiritual repercussions of this, being abusive and nasty, 40 years later certainly is not going to help. There is a deep pain that will not just go away or be forgotten and must be addressed. That Ibos today are prospering and are on a rising and blest projectile that has not even started is only by the Grace of God and should not be an excuse to ignore or deny the need to come together as brothers and sisters, comfort and wipe away the years of hiden pain and resentments. If this is not done, then the future is not bright as the festering sore will eventually consume all, one way or another. |
Very good looking members on this site!! |
There is a more sinister reason why they want the man out, http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread743210/pg1 |
If he really loves and respects his wife and knows that she will Not tolerate that kind of behaviour, he wont cheat. If he loves and respects her but she is totally dependent on him especially financially, he may cheat because he knows that after all the fuss she will stay and accept it. if he doesnt love and respect his wife, he probably will cheat. Strong religious views held by the man will or may moderate his behaviour above but the bottom line is that if he feels he can get away with it he most likely will seize the opportunity if it presents itself even though he may not actually go looking, |
The things Nigerians have in common are many. Among the things we have in common and make us have a similar spirit are: - you're a professional at sharpening pencils with a blade, innovation and creativity - having light for two days in a row is shocking or rather scary cuz you know the aftermath, triumph of hope over experience - you know the yahoozee dance, finding fun in all circunstances - all non-nigerians take your confidence for cockiness, definitely not our fault we are sharper than the rest of them, innate and deep self esteem and confidence - somebody has ever threatened to "show you pepper", ability to inspire anger in others - you used to write your name on paper and stick it inside your biro so no one would steal it. , distrust and sceptism - you remember when agbani darego was crowned miss world (ahh, celebration galore!), National pride when good things happen to Nigeria { like football wins) - you remember the day abacha died! i remember exactly where i was and what i was doing!, must mean something! - you call all different types of noodles indomie (i personally don't cuz nothing else can compare!!), deep loyalty when deserved - you used to have a hi5 account! (lol the pre-facebook days), technologically savvy when given the opportunity - 'tales by moonlight' played a key role in your childhood development, nostalgic childhood memories - you were delivered 5 hours later than you were scheduled to be. smh @ african time, knowledge that time was made for man, not vice versa - you know what 'nneka the pretty serpent' is (hmm, and all the nightmares it brought on!), Nollywood fan! - you have been annoyed by the numerous okadas on the road, knows Nigeria can be better - you have made some money from being "sprayed" dancing at a naija party, combining business with pleasure - you call all your parents friends uncle this and aunty that, even though you're not related to them in any way whatsoever!, extremely respectful when deserved - your every sunday lunch is some variation of rice, esp rice and stew, loves ritual and rice! and my personal favorite, you know you're nigerian if you wake up from a bad dream screaming "BLOOD OF JESUS!!!", religious! |
Thanks but no thanks!! |
Without a doubt, from foreigners, and I know many who have commented on this, and Nigerians too, the towns are in the following order: Calabar Jos, before the madness, Port Harcourt Enugu Lagos Sapele, in those days! |
