Expect lot of insults and verbal attacks from Tinubu today at his Presidential rally in Oyo state. Buhari pronouncement today that old 1000 naira notes and old 500 naira notes have ceased to become legal tender has set the tone for a full blown all out war in the APC. Tinubu will insult and verbally attack Buhari and his Government today at his rally in Oyo state. The war in APC has now fully manifested to Buhari Northern dominated CPC faction against Tinubu South West dominated ACN faction.

That 22 billion Tinubu money Which are in 1000 naira and 500 Naira denomination and stored in Kano state government facility meant for vote buying in the North West has become waste , useless and and now tissue papers, it will be hard converting them into 200 Naira notes with less than 9 day to election and CBN will not circulate up to 1 billion naira worth of 200 Naira notes back to the economy before election. |

The terms they proposed were to allow only the old N200 note to remain legal tender and be circulated by the CBN till 10 April 2023. They claimed that the CBN had already destroyed the old N500 and N1000 notes that had been deposited, but that those persons who still held the old notes could redeem them up to 10 April 2023. These were not considered as serious proposals, for obvious reasons. Circulating the old N200 notes alone would not be sufficient to relieve widespread human suffering in Kaduna State, and indeed in Nigeria today. They knew that and that is why they falsely claimed that the CBN had already destroyed the old N500 and N1000 notes. His El Rufai actually working for Tinubu or working for Atiku El Rufai with his statement above is neither here or there It's les than 10 days to election |

SaharaReporters also visited Access Bank, Zenith Bank, First Bank and United Bank for Africa (UBA) in Awka and the story was the same. Residents of Awka, Anambra State capital have been thrown into more frustration as all the commercial banks in the state capital have stopped accepting old N200, N500 and N1,000 notes. SaharaReporters had reported that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in disobedience to the interim injunction order issued by the Supreme Court, insisted that February 10 remains the deadline for the old notes to cease being legal tender. Meanwhile, the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, had before the initial January 31 deadline told Nigerians that after the deadline, they can take their old Naira notes to their deposit banks where the old notes would be accepted and deposited in their bank accounts without affecting the exact value of their money. However, when SaharaReporters visited some commercial banks in Awka on Wednesday, two staff members of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway branch of Fidelity Bank Plc confirmed that the bank no longer accepts old naira notes from customers. The two male employees who spoke on condition of anonymity said that commercial banks were only allowed to accept old notes from customers from January 31 to February 10, while from February 11 to 17, banks were to return all the old notes collected to CBN while customers who still have old notes are expected to also go to CBN branches in their states to deposit them. SaharaReporters also visited Access Bank, Zenith Bank, First Bank and United Bank for Africa (UBA) in Awka and the story was the same. Meanwhile, customers lament and express frustration in banking halls and at Automated Teller Machine (ATM) galleries as they are not dispensing money. At the Access Bank branch located along Enugu-Onitsha expressway, SaharaReporters gathered that the ATM dispensed N10,000 for 10 people in the morning and stopped. The bank management told customers that the bank had exhausted its cash and asked them to wait till 2 pm when the bank would receive money from CBN. But by 2:35 pm when SaharaReporters left the bank, no money had been made available for the frustrated customers. At the First Bank, customers were given numbers as they were also asked to await funds coming from the CBN. The money arrived at exactly 2 pm in a white bullion van escorted by two police vehicles but as at 2:46 pm when SaharaReporters left the bank, neither customers at the counter inside the banking hall nor by the ATMs were issued money. Meanwhile, within the Awka metropolis, many traders, commercial transporters and artisans no longer accept the old Naira notes. I stopped accepting the old notes yesterday (Tuesday) because over N100,000 old notes I accepted on Monday almost got stuck in my hands as none of the people that supply goods accepted the old money. I was so lucky that one of them accepted it and since then, I have asked my girls not to accept old money again,” a female provision store owner at First Market area of Awka said Another trader popularly known as Mama Nkem told SaharaReporters that she stopped accepting the old naira notes because “I don’t have the time and strength to go to CBN and stand in the queue to deposit money that will take a month to reflect in my bank account.” “I am a businessman and I don’t have that time and strength. And what if the money does not enter my account after four weeks as the Central Bank said? Who will I hold responsible in this country where everybody is on his own? If it is not new money, the customer can check another shop,” an electrical appliances seller who identified himself as Iyke said https://saharareporters.com/2023/02/15/naira-scarcity-residents-frustrated-lament-banks-reject-old-notes-anambra-southeast |

The Senator representing Gombe North, Muhammad Danjuma Goje, and the state chairman of the party, Nitte Amangal, on Monday boycotted the party’s presidential campaign. The presidential campaign of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was held at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe, which is part of his Constituency and a few meters away from his residence. On his side, Nitte Amagal, the state APC chairman who led the party to victory during the 2019 general elections, was not also present at Pantami township stadium venue for the APC campaign rally. According to some supporters, it is unlike Danjuma Goje, a top shot of the APC, to miss his party’s campaign . The APC campaign team led by the party’s Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was in Gombe on Monday ahead of the 2023 general elections. However, Danjuma Goje, a former Governor of the state under whose administration the incumbent Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, served as Commissioner of Finance for eight years, was absent at the venue of the APC campaign and there was nobody who stood in as his representative. The development may not be unconnected with the crisis between the state Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s Danjuma Goje, which has culminated in constant verbal attacks on him and his supporters. It was, however, believed that his boycott could be to protest the recent attack and suspension of one of his top lieutenants Abubakar Adamu (Ogas), by the APC in Gombe State. The state chapter of the APC had recently tagged Danjuma Goje’s supporters and followers as members working against the party. It, therefore, suspended over 105 members in the state’s Yamaltu/Deba and Akko Local Government Areas (LGA). Sharu Musa, an APC member from Akko Local Government, said, “We believe Danjuma Goje is with us (APC), but he’s not coming here shows that there are some issues to be addressed and I think leaders of our party should quickly do about it before it gets out of hand.” Another supporter, Malam Sani, revealed that the internal crisis in APC during the electioneering year is evidence that the party has lost it all. He said, “But I assure you that nothing happens to Goje will win his senatorial seat, no doubt about that, but all other candidates, including the state governor, have lost this election.” All efforts to get reactions from Sen Danjuma Goje failed as his phone number was not going through at the time of filing this report https://tribuneonlineng.com/gombe-apc-crisis-deepens-as-goje-party-chairman-shun-tinubus-campaign/

Rotimi Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State, was noticeably absent on Wednesday as Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, and Kashim Shetima, Tinubu’s running mate, visited Port Harcourt as part of their campaign rally. Around 4 pm, the former governor of Lagos State and other APC officials arrived at the stadium for the party’s presidential rally. Before approaching the podium, Tinubu danced and waved to the audience. Amaechi, the leader of the APC in River State, was not present at the occasion, which has raised alarm. Since losing out on the party’s presidential ticket, Amaechi has been relatively silent on the political scene even in his home state. There were speculations that the former Governor is not working for Tinubu in his bid to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari due to the party’s Muslim-Muslim ticket. https://gazettengr.com/south-west-apc-governors-ministers-to-meet-tinubu-in-ibadan/
