The Independent Sharia Panel of Lagos State

The population of Lagos State of Nigeria is upwards of ten million. About half of this large number are Muslims. In 2002, Muslim activists in Lagos State took it upon themselves to set up what amounts to a private arbitration tribunal — the Independent Sharia Panel (ISP) of Lagos State — to which Muslims are invited to submit their civil disputes for adjudication under Islamic law. 1. The so called Riga policy is currently being implemented in some States with support of the fg (though requested by the state), why does the govt need to take over water ways and their banks to achieve what it already has a head start?

If eventually people (indigenous or otherwise) want to go into cattle fattening, how is the water bill going to affect them?

Not looking for back and forth but rather constructive and informative discourse, this is to get what truly is happening beyond the sensational reportage and each side sticking to wrong narrative as is coming with things like these.

Another by the side, could this be a battle for control of water ways between fg and state govt? As is common, the fg manages highways linking state capitals and their LGS and other states, could it be they want to have clear jurisdiction over the water ways as some these waterways are interstate with the fg saddled with almost all responsibilities regarding them?

Have not seen a draft of the bill so forgive my inquisitiveness. V
