please, can we stop giving this boy free airtime here? I thought we have wished him good luck with his English dreams already

Abeg, let us move on to players that have us in mind, I am tired of discussing all these useless English boys.

And please, nobody should blame Pinnick for anything. Nobody should also say the English FA would have held down his career. Last I checked, England is not the only country that has a good league, and if he was that great, he would have shone in other leagues even if England tried to stifle his career.

Forget pressure or any other nonsense excuse, this boy had England on his mind and used the Pinnick ish to bring attention to himself. If Nigeria had been his top choice at any point, he would have shunned their pressure like Iwobi did.

Good luck to Tammy, now, can we go back to our back water Norwegian league players?
Mz Safari he was this close to playing for us and I blame Pinnick, he should learn from Senegal and Morocco, it's all on him

He was obviously forced to choose them anyway and I won't blame the young man. So forget Tammy and let's drop the issue besides anything can happen you never know.

I have read the original report by TheTimes, I'm still yet to read a statement from Tammy.
Firstly it was rumored that Southgate went to watch him play against Arsenal -- granted. Next, it was said Southgate is considering naming Tammy for England's friendlies in November. No statement from Southgate as well.
I want to see an official quote.
From the Times you just posted it said he has declared and it's a huge relief for them, what other quote are you waiting for Mr Joebie obviously he gave the interview.

There is nothing new about this Tammy story. He is waiting to see if he will get an England call-up. He will fall back to Nigeria if England is not forthcoming.

I see him playing a few games for England, here and there. Once the NFF came out public with that story, it was difficult seeing him play for Nigeria. The pressure would have been overwhelming.
True that but boss remember that Iwobi was also pressured but he stood by his decision. Think we were always going to be 2nd choice to him.

Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham has reportedly decided to commit his international future to England rather than Nigeria.

The 20-year-old striker is currently on a season-long loan at Swansea City, where he has impressed with four goals and an assist in 10 Premier League appearances to date.

On an international level, Abraham has been playing with England's under-21s side for the last year and has already racked up 13 caps, but is also eligible to play for Nigeria through his father.

According to The Times, Nigeria have been courting Abraham in recent months and met with him in September in an attempt to persuade him to switch allegiance before he earns his first senior cap.

The newspaper claims that Abraham has decided to turn down their advances however, informing "senior FA officials" in recent weeks that he remains committed to the Three Lions.

England manager Gareth Southgate was in attendance at the Emirates last weekend for the Swans' 2-1 defeat to Arsenal and is believed to be considering giving Abraham a place in his squad for next year's World Cup in Russia.

Threat From Swansea City Coach Paul Clement Made Tammy Abraham Deny Nigeria

Anglo-Nigerian striker Tammy Abraham would have started the process of his international switch to Nigeria from England where he is a youth international, if not for the intervention of Swansea City coach Paul Clement .
Abraham met with the president of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) at Wembley after Swansea City’s game against Tottenham Hotspur last month and in truth agreed to switch allegiance to Nigeria.
The NFF went ahead to post pictures of the player and president Amaju Pinnick who was quoted as saying they have already applied to FIFA for his switch of allegiance to Nigeria from England .
That piece of information according to one of the aide of the president of the NFF caused panic in England, where Tammy is a youth international and was waiting to be called up to the U21s the next week.
” The moment the story went up on the NFF website, hell was let loose in England, his agent and parents were put under severe pressure by the English football authority, with the player not left out as well “, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Standing Ovation(you killed it)

safarigirl:
if you must know. It is not the same Mikel

Who did Ndidi look up to while growing up? Mikel

Who was one of the influences that made Aina switch to Nigeria? Mikel

Who also influenced Leon? Mikel

Nobody even remembers that your Martins played for the Super Eagles, that is how irrelevant he is to this set of players.

And the Mikel you know would not have bailed out the team in Brazil, he wouldn't have even been there, the Mikel you know would have bailed on the team with Enyeama and Emenike after that Musa debacle, that is the Mikel YOU know.....

However, the Mikel I know, the one who has learnt from age and experience and will certainly have more stories to tell these boys on how much one's behavior can shape their career is the ODOGWU, the leader cherished by team mates and fans. That is the Mikel that has influenced people and has transformed himself from a player we all seemed to loath to one we can't do without.

There are very few players who have the stories Mikel has and Martins is not one of them

Truth is the guy agreed to play for Nigeria but Paul Clement the Swansea coach threatened him, play for Nigeria and you will be benched.

Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr is reportedly set to battle it with the Nigeria Football Federation over teenage forward Tammy Abraham.
England Under -21 striker Abraham has emerged as one of the hottest young properties in English football after scoring five Premier League goals for Swansea City on his season -long loan from Chelsea this season.
The 20 -year-old, whose father comes from Nigeria , has not been capped by England at senior level, meaning he is still eligible to play for the Super Eagles .
NFF president Amaju Pinnick claimed last month that Abraham had agreed to play for Nigeria , but the player denied that the NFF had yet to contact him with regard to playing for Nigeria and pledged his international allegiance to England .
Our correspondent learnt that the NFF decided to go after Abraham after Rohr , who is a fan of the pacey and energetic London-born striker , told them that he wanted him for the Russia 2018 World Cup .
Our correspondent learnt that the NFF was rocked by Abraham’ s statement, with some of the top officials of the federation allegedly vowing to ensure that the player is never allowed to don the national colours even when he makes a u-turn on England .
Rohr is said to be insistent on having Abraham as he believes involving the young striker would boost his striking options in Russia as Nigeria seek to make a bold statement in their sixth World Cup appearance .
German manager Rohr is said to have been encouraged to have Abraham in his World Cup plans after the player , whose father comes from Delta State, opened his door to Nigeria switch after the Eagles qualified for the World Cup following their 1-0 victory over Zambia in Uyo on October 7 .
“ There are a lot of things going on . For me that is a sign you are doing something right if Nigeria are fighting for you and England want you as well, ” Abraham was quoted by The Mirror as saying last week.
“ I’ m happy right now and just want to keep playing my football . Nothing has happened . I ’m not too sure what is going on .”
But Rohr ’s employers are said to be opposed to the player representing Nigeria at the World Cup and have reportedly told him that they don’t want Abraham on his list .
Spokesman for the NFF Ademola Olajire , who refused to confirm or deny whether Abraham would be invited by Rohr for the World Cup, however insisted the player agreed to switch his international allegiance from England to Nigeria .
Olajire said the federation would not force any player on Rohr , saying the former Burkina Faso coach would be allowed to select his squad for the World Cup.
“ The NFF does not have any player in mind for the World Cup , it’ s not our job to invite any player , ” the federation chief told our correspondent on the telephone on Monday .

I am not convinced about Mikel Agu, he played only two games for his parent club Porto that's not a sign of outstanding quality.

He is currently in Turkey that's not a step up but down.

But then he makes it into the SE on what basis? Is he better than Aluko certainly not in my opinion, is he better than Tega Onomah ( currently the anchor of England U21 midfield) and or Seyi Ojo and Fred Onyedinma.
Agu's case to me is the more you look the less you see can't understand it as well.
We need Onomah guy can ball, he scores screamers as well.

The NFF want this foreign born as much as we want them too.
I remember when asked on one of the sport shows Barr Seyi the first vice president said they want to have a large pool of players like that of England, Germany
Also one of the back room staff said on (Mr Tunde adelakun) twitter that Felix udokhai is on their radar.
This guys want the best players to play for us, their aim is the Semi and I pray it comes to pass.
Rohr even said no player is guaranteed cos anything can happen within 9months. Methinks all the first team players will go the others will have to fight for it.
I also think that Ogu sincerely is not in his plans NB pls my opinion o.
