The quote is very suspicious, note the following

1. What is 23.2 x2.4 =55.68sq -which unit of measurement is he using metres or feets ,what the guy just did was multiply the length of your sitting room which is 23.2 feet by 2.4metres which does not show uniformity,unless you want to tell us your sitting room is actually 23.2 metres by 2.4 metres,the implication of what he has done is to inflate the work area

2. The quantity of the materials are suspicious ,you can go to the market and sample prices of these items

My sitting room is no where near 23 metres Thank you for this observation. This is more reason why one need to be paying more attention to details. I sincerely appreciate everyone contribution and will try not to get reaped off.

I got N200/sq. m for mine but it was probably because it was the same guy finishing off the P-O-P so he wanted to continue on site.

I'm not one for screwing artisans to the bone in these tough times so I think N250 - N300/sq. m is probably fair.

Streetlights not just solar powered ones hardly last in nigeria because of conny contractors.

I was called to look at some streetlights at the Federal university of technology, Akure (FUTA) guess what the batteries used where 100Ah batteries but the contractor put them in cartons with 200Ah written on them.


There is this solar power engineer i met here on nairaland, maybe he thinks i dont know my onions, he sent me a picture of a street lighting they did in abuja, they used 40watts panels and he told me it was 260watt panel. I laffed and told him i know the ratings of solar panels just from looking at them. That was when he opened up to me and told me that it was his oga that asked him to use it.
They even used a wire that was 1/4 the standard size.
How will such projects last.
There is money in street lights. A 1 kilometer road can have 50- 60 street lights now imagine cutting corners and saving extra N50,000 on each, that is a whooping 2.5million at least. That is why street lights dont last in nigeria.
Many so called solar power experts dont even know that the solar panels shld pace south towards the equator where sun is maximum all through the day not east where the sun rises or west where the sun sets.

Just looking at a street light pole i can tell u a lot.

Just looking at the box where the battery is stored you can tell the size of the battery in it. Some can even have big boxes and contain small batteries.

It is a pity

Almost 100% of those solar panels you see are perfectly working and before u know what is happening on thief will steal them and only pole will be left.

So dust is just a red herring that shifts blame away from the real problem.
So sir it is greed that is killing this country.

Hello Mr.Deji, I connected my Hp Laptop (Pavilion DV9260US) to LCD (LG 42 model LH4900) through HDMI cable by enabling SPDIF as Default, both the pictures and sound from the TV were fantastic.Though i did not try the head phone on the laptop but there was no sound coming out from laptop only from the TV.
I have tried the HP link you recommend to me> I update both conexant audio graphic and nividia but has no effect when i tried it with my LCD Samsung. I guess if I could get the HDMI option from the sound panel may be the problem can be solved with Samsung TV. But the question remains, HOW?

[Is this XP or Vista ? samsung model number ? when you tried with LG where does the sound came from ?
e.g. from the tv itself or from the laptop ? Here's your diagnostics, connect the laptop to LG then connect

headphone to the laptop > see if you get any sound. you can't get sound from your laptop to the tv that's
impossible. I take is this is HDMI, DVI or VGA connection. try VGA and see if you"ll get a sound.

I have tried the above ways with my other LG 4900LCD and it works fine with sound and Picture.
