What I have is these jobless men sitting on the junction every minute of the day, drinking and smoking and making noise. If you pass they will watch you carefully so see whether you would greet them. If you get friendly with them they will start taxing you whenever you pass by. The street men and women are just annoying. Eveytime you come out they keep staring at you until you trip and fall out of embarrassment. Every single day!!! I started ignoring all of them. When I'm moving I face my front. I ignore every idiot. The day before that, my eldest brother had given me a bitter dose of reality..in his own special way.

With the accompnying insults, he had told me to stop being quiet and reserve...otherwise my enemy was going to be a failure in life.

The import of everything he said was this: that i needed to quit my job, uproot myself from lagos and go to a remote town somewhere and start to "hustle." Selling phone accessories in a wheel barrow.

I wish i was smart and knew what to do for each scenario..
