So you would have joined the NavySEALs being a MARINE. na waoo
The NAVY SEALS accepts trainees from all the U.S. armed forces (both NCOs and Officers) be it Navy, Army, AirForce or Marines. The Marines form the major contributor to this outfit.
And the MARINES RECON unit is highly sought after.

Even civilians can join as long as you are an American citizen

misterh: Nice interview. Ribadu still remains one of my public office holders (past & present) in Nigeria. He's truly an example of sincerity & modesty.
Ribadau owns choice properties in Dubai with money he acquired during his reign as the head of the EFCC.

The level of daylight naked hypocrisy on display in this useless country is unbelievable.

The same ribadau that did OBJ's dirty witch hunting.

You guys either fell on your heads when you were babies or you are genetically daft!

Alex77: Who told you they are on duty? There is no where in the world where soldiers don't dance. It raises their spirit. Morale HIGH!
Then you get out of that uniform first.

In mess all over the world, a soldier is expected to remove his beret and belt or at least look less informal before having a beer and that is within the barracks. If the soldier was going into town the soldier must not wear his uniform to a bar. He remains a private citizen when he has a pass and any infringement he may commit the local law enforcement officers are to treat him like a civilian violator.

Do you expect me to go to war with this?

If they were not herding cattle or scratching the soil to eke a living or being in full employment with your ragtag militia what in heaven's name will they be good for.

Soldiering in the Nigerian Armed Forces is more of a job than a way of life.

I recall at the height of the Niger-Delta insurgency a woman in Port-Harcourt telling a convoy of JTF soldiers , who were searching through her fish consignment, that; "una no get hand work... God forbid say my pikin join soja".

100 troops in failed Nigeria hostage rescue bid: witnesses

SOKOTO, Nigeria — Around a hundred troops, a tank and two helicopters were deployed in a failed hostage rescue bid in northwestern Nigeria in which an Italian and Briton hostages were killed, witnesses said.
Witnesses said Thursday's deadly raid in the calm northwestern city of Sokoto saw the hostage takers and the security forces wage a gun battle lasting seven hours.
....

...Residents said at least 100 soldiers were involved in the operation, but did not report seeing any British troops.
They came in two trucks and a tank and blocked the entrance to the house.
"At around 11 am I saw soldiers coming... uncountable, about 100. They started firing," said the businessman, asking not to be named.
Another resident earlier said "around 100 troops surrounded the area."
The kidnappers apparently tried to flee by scaling a wall into a next-door house which was partially built.
Soldiers asked residents for old tyres which they lit and tossed into the building in a bid to smoke the kidnappers out, then engaged them in an intense gun battle, the witnesses told AFP.
"They asked people to give them tyres, they lit them and threw them in ...They said the kidnappers were trapped," said a 38-year-old civil servant.
A big hole on the wall of the partially built house was apparently caused by a shell from the tank.
"After the shootout had been going on for about seven hours, the soldiers gained access into the house," said a witness who lives directly opposite.

...Hours later security forces showed up at the scene in trucks and fired into the air to disperse residents

naptu2: Hahahahahahahaha

Basically this statement shows that it's basically about you not liking the Nigerian armed forces and that's ok. You are entitled to your opinion.

By the way, the picture wasn't taken on the streets. Since they are wearing blue helmets, I suspect that they've just returned from a UN mission and are celebrating.

If you scroll up you'll see a picture and video of. . .very disciplined New York cops grinding on girls during the Dominican Day parade and, o! Wow! They were dancing on the streets and in public.

grin
I dont give a phuck were the picture was taking. I am just stating that they are not worth to be called soldiers as they have nothing to compare with true warriors. You can call them savages and I wont argue but soldiers? Please don't insult this ex-marine.
PoliticsRe: Picture Of Nigerian Soldiers Dancing Kukere by MajHeadache: 5:06pm On Aug 23, 2013
naptu2: Aww! Come on! You have indiscipline in every armed forces. Remember Abu Graib? The girls that have been raped in Okinawa? It's every where. You have the bullies everywhere, just like you have the well trained and disciplined officers everywhere.
Indiscipline exist in every army formation that is why they have the MPs. But the Nigerian army personel and officers are both undisciplined and are a sorry excuse for a soldier.

In Mali of recent they were relegated to the rear in the capital, Bamako doing odd jobs like mounting security check points and loading supply trucks.
PoliticsRe: Picture Of Nigerian Soldiers Dancing Kukere by MajHeadache: 4:49pm On Aug 23, 2013
fuke: You cannot be serious.

They may have their problems but the army remains the most disciplined
establishment in Nigeria. And they may be the reason why we are still
one today.

Some guys just write here with profound ignorance.

To be a major in Nigerian army, you must have gulped enough fund
for training to train 20 graduates. They are almost always well grounded.

The rank and file are equally well trained. They keep winning honors at foreign
peace keeping's. If they have problems they are Nigerian made.

I say proudly Nigerian
The same highly disciplined Military that produced rogues like Babangida, Obasonjo and Abacha that have plundered and institutionalized corruption and mediocrity.

The same military that has no qualms in engaging unarmed civilians (preferably their own citizens in their own country)

The same military that is full of crass spineless bullies

The same Nigeria military that cannot tackle a ragtag Islamic sect operating in open semi-arid desert.

The video below is from the civil war in Sierra Leone.
For those of you scrounging on a poor waif data plan, the video clearly shows Nigerian army personel taking their frustration on a half naked teenage boy who was hiding for his dear life in one of the many abandon buildings. A sniper had just killed a Nigerian Army officer and the barbarians took it out on this young innocent poor boy.

Gallantry indeed.

Where do you guys get the assumption that the Nigerian Military has the best infantry division?

Is it from that same fairy tale land where you guys believe you are Giants of Africa?

The Nigerian Military is similar to an organised militia whose specialty is to engage civilian populace (preferably their own citizens) at best it will be a ragtag militia like teenage d0ped out rebels in Sieria-leone and Liberia (the highest military encounter till date).

They can't handle a brainwashed religious rag tag cult in the semi-arid deserts in the North.

Nigeria Military is just an occupation and nothing more.

desgiezd: I agree with most of the things the guy observed and wrote about but after all said, what are the solutions to these myriad of problems or are we going to continue with it till the end of time? To me, this is the crux of the matter.
can a frog give birth to a lion cub?

No.

The bad leaders are a product of a bad society. And as they continue their misrule, society slips closer to the edge and as such future generations become more embolden to corruption and vice as a way of life.

The situation can only come from home. The average Nigerian is reared like an animal and unleashed into the surronding jungle to prey on the weak.

I am so happy with this bond stuff.

I thank God the Brits are barring Nigerians from coming to their country.

If you supported Fascist Fash's recent deportation pogrom then I see no reason you won't support this move by the Brits.
After all Nigerians have really messed up in Britain over the years. From drug peddling in the 80's, yahoo and credit scammers, sham marriages, identity theft, ritual killings, Islamic terrorists, etc.
