Music/RadioSingle By A Nairalander Titled "Happy Birthday" by MAKINGWAVES247(op): 9:05pm On Nov 29, 2016
Louizon comes out strong with a song titled “Happy Birthday” with a unique reggae feel. Birthday is a time to celebrate and also take stock of the journey thus far. This song would no doubt be on replay. Produced by Amby Junior.

LiteratureWhimsical Thoughts - Do We Need To Comment? by MAKINGWAVES247(op): 9:33am On Jun 14, 2016
http://weerize.com/do-we-need-to-comment/

In our digital world where a large chunk of people have access to the world wide web, we see information, news, events, and happening that occurred just 5 min ago being watched, listened or heard all around the globe. We now hear words like “news on the go” as we now get news per second as it breaks.
This has actually made the world a better place, our security apparatus or emergency agents can move swifter and save more lives. In the same vein it has some bad sides too.
On the net we have various aspects ranging from education to events to news, celebrity, to sports just to mention a few. But what beats my imagination are some comments in response to some happenings. Let’s take a common example, “celebrity marriage breakups”
Once there is news of celebrity break up, you just discover some people from nowhere just jump on the stories and dish out all manner of comment for or against one of the parties involved. Note, most people making such comment know little or nothing about them and even when they know, it’s majorly what they have read online. In my journey on earth, I have come to realize there is always more to a story than meets the eye. We have a generation that is too hasty to comment /condemn. We have a generation that broadcast or should I use the word celebrate “bad news” more than good news. We might have heard statements like “if it doesn’t smell it would not sell” little issues are made to look like mountains, and we see people jumping in to have a say.
The rate at which people insult on social media platforms is unprecedented, using unprintable words is now normal. You would see a youth of 20yrs insult the heavens out of a 40yrs old man just because the man made a comment he does not agree with. And I ask, what happened to courtesy and decorum? It goes to show some things are fundamentally wrong. Growing up, when you don’t agree with what an elder or even your age mates says or does, you make your point clear, but with respect. You don’t leave the subject of discussion and begin to hit at them personally. But in our world today a young man of 19yrs will happily insult a 69yrs old man and not feel anything is wrong.
It time we try and listen more than we talk. We are in an era where everybody is talking and no one is listening. Just because we have access to the internet and there is freedom of speech does not mean it should be abused. Where a man’s freedom stops is where another man’s freedom starts. There is need to learn to comment on posts and when there is nothing to say, it’s more honorable and shows maturity to read and move on. We must not talk or comment at all times. There is a time to just watch and listen. There is great wisdom in listening.

Music/RadioDownload Uyino - You & I by MAKINGWAVES247(op): 9:22am On Jun 14, 2016
Going from his debut,"Waiting For Me", Softhouse recording artiste Uyino, returns with another single; U & I - a melodic, afro beat ballad- sweet love song, which is a perfect description of love and affection. Different from his first single, "Waiting For Me", an up-tempo song, U & I, is a slow - mellow tune that pushes Uyino’s vocal dexterity even further, and places him among the few exciting singers, songwriters, and artistes to be reckoned with in the Nigerian music industry. As always, Uyino has clung onto his "pidgin english naija" roots and dynamic flavour on this record. The DS music produced single is Uyino's second single under Softhouse Records and is guaranteed to be on your repeat playlist. http://weerize.com/uyino-you-i/#more-408

Music/RadioUyino - Waiting For Me by MAKINGWAVES247(op): 5:16pm On Jun 06, 2016
UYINO is a Singer-songwriter and producer, based in the UK with roots in the deep south of Nigeria. His debut single, “Waiting For Me” is an up-tempo party anthem which shows off Uyino’s vocal range and lyrical skills. He combines the sweet rhythm of Pidgin English with dance stirring beats to bring a signature melody and a lot of soul. Uyino has been involved in a lot of projects in the past and recently where he’s worked with ..........

LiteratureFix The Fault Not The Blame - Whimsical Thoughts by MAKINGWAVES247(op): 11:04am On Jun 06, 2016
http://weerize.com/fix-the-fault-not-the-blame/#more-270

The blame game is one that is as old as mankind. We live in a world where it is easier to shift the blame than face the crux of the matter. A child would give you reasons why he failed his exams, the employee would give you reasons why he failed to meet up with the date for project submission, and the husband would give you reasons why the family is in disarray. Blaming other people, but themselves.

Right from the Garden of Eden, the blame game started. Adam blamed eve and eve blamed the serpent. Once there is an issue, most people go defensive, accusing the other person. The government blaming the citizenry and the citizenry blaming the government. At the end, work done equals zero.

It’s time we begin to fix the fault and not the blame. Blaming one another only prolongs the issues. Fixing the crux of the matter solves it. It does not matter how long we blame someone for a broken pipe, it would not stop water from leaking from it, while millions are in need of pipe borne water. On the other hand getting a plumber to fix the broken pipe automatically solves the water leakage.

It’s time we all stop this blame game, we need to consciously work towards it. Husbands/wives should fix the fault in their marriages, labor union should fix and not blame every government in power, the system needs fixing and not blaming.

No problem is solved by blaming another person, problems are solved by fixing the fault. This is our chance, we can do it if we choose.

LiteratureWHIMSICAL THOUGHTS - How Much Do You Believe In Your Dream? by MAKINGWAVES247(op): 4:53pm On May 26, 2016
http://weerize.com/how-much-do-you-believe-in-your-dream/#more-183
HOW MUCH DO YOU BELIEVE IN YOUR DREAM?

We all have dreams or would know people that have dreams. We would have heard of some fantastic dreams that can even make angels marvel. We might have had dreams ourselves and asked, how possible is this?

It is very good to dream, but would you still believe it would come to pass when there is no sign of its possibility. Dreams that looks like you are building castles in the air. Everyone around laughs, your parents call you for an intervention and ask you to face realities, people now make a caricature of you. Would you still believe in your dream when every step you take closer to your dream rather takes you farther from it? Everyone around you has gone ahead in life and you are still stuck at a spot with your dream. Other parents now use you as an example of a stubborn child.

No dream comes on a platter of gold, there would be pains and pressures. Discouragement might set in but one thing will make the difference, how much do you believe in your dream and what are you doing to achieve it. Not everyone will believe in what you carry, doubters are allowed, onlookers are permitted, don’t begrudge them for that. They are all a part of your story line. If they are not there, then it was never a dream in the first instance. Perhaps we can say, you just stumbled into it- and that happens too.

WHO TOLD YOU?

Who told you it’s over?
That the sun will no longer smile
The moon won’t give its crescent smile
And the stars won’t steer you to the king

Who told you?
It won’t rain again
The storm will have no end
The pending avalanche will leave destruction in its path
The flood will sweep everything on its path

The same flood that swallowed people
Lifted the ark closer to heaven
In the midst of every raging storm is a center that is calm

If you can hold on to Him
In HIM everything consist
The Center of everything
The storm would rage around but not hurt you

LiteratureGrand Mama (a Look) by MAKINGWAVES247(op): 10:14pm On May 23, 2016
GRAND MAMA (A LOOK)

I looked at mama
Told me stories of old
Legends of yesteryear s
How she trekked kilometers to trade
And how women were exchanged for debt
I looked at her
Sunken eyes that were bespectacled
Weak steps
Gray hair
Wrinkled skin
Weak smiles
Brownish white teeth
Unable to chew bones
Could not tell the difference between five naira and five hundred naira
Her memory skips
No longer concerned about the latest fashion
Had no value for “hollandies” or “cupion”
Neither was she interested in the latest shoes
Nor the best body lotion
All were now of minimal value
I came to the conclusion
Our value in life will continually change
But most especially: What is life?
