BusinessRe: Good Business Transaction Done On Nairaland With A Nairalander by malignant1: 12:15pm On Feb 21, 2013
Jarus: 3, This is not business but politics. Nairalanders donated close to N1m to my account during the Buhari/Bakare campaign in 2011, which we used to fund the campaign as our little contribution. These are people that never met me physically. One Nairalnder, at the peak of the campaign, came to my office and handed N0.5m cash to me as contribution to the campaign. That is trust.

4, This is not business too. I am the Accountant of TEHN (Nairaland charity group) and up to N0.6m was raised for the 4 projects we had executed so far. Less than 5% of them knew me physically but paid money into my account. That is trust.

I believe there are still trustworthy people on Nairaland.
Boy chill, we are giving testimonies of good business transactions. Don't turn this thread into a platform to promote your fundraising goals.

9icest: MBA is the most pivotal player there. I think Mba in Ibo means 'No'...Its as if the guy has a way of 'saying NO, this has to change! and go for the kill himself'....Hes the guy with the incredible energy...and who usually score the most crucial goal. But hes still a fresh prospect! I see him going places! The main MAN was MOSES....He took us through this RED SEA of CAF cheesy

Nah!
Even though MBA means "No" in Igbo, it can also mean "Nation" and "Rebuke". In this context, rebuke is its most appropriate translation. cool

CyberG: 1. This is a calculated attempt to embarrass the retardeen GEJ government.

2. He will setup another committee to investigate the previous committee.

3. After all, nothing or almost nothing will be done for most of the about 9 police colleges in Nigeria.

4. He will promise to solve all Nigeria's problems after the 2015 elections

5. Sheeply Nigerians mostly ibos and his Otueke people will vote for him because he is ibo and a son of their soil.
Did your kinsmen(Yoruba) vote for Jonathan in the last election? Yes or No. . .

PoliticsRe: Witches, Demons Hindering Electricity Reform – Prof. Nebo by malignant1: 9:13am On Jan 24, 2013
This man is a disgrace. He drove out witches and wizards and installed his own witches and wizards. He also watered down standard in the institution by the way he promoted Bartho Okolo to professorship, then went ahead to engineer his emergence as the UNN VC.
PoliticsRe: Professor Nebo Nominated For New Power Minister by malignant1: 8:14pm On Jan 23, 2013
Afam4eva: I think i read someone that he has a background in engineering. I'm not sure though.
He is a professor in metalurgic and material engineering from ESUT. Later became the VC of UNN with the help of Gov. Chimaroke Nnamani during his rosy days with OBJ. During his tenure, he increased UNN sch. fees by 800%! Promoted his kinsman Professor Bath Okolo from his position to prof in a record time. Later masterminded his appointment as the UNN VC. Though he is a venerable in Anglican church, he is also corrupt! He oversaw the embezzlement of funds and other corrupt practices during NUGA games. He is not suited for the job. He lacks the temperament to occupy such a sensitive post.

There is no problem with that. So far they regulate their traditional herbal practice. Their herbal concortions must be standardised with appropriate dosages.

Car TalkRe: What To Do If You See A Pothole At 100km/hr Speed Or Above? by malignant1: 6:46pm On Sep 28, 2012
toba: this is tricky. its either u apply ur brake and then enter the pothole or u check ur mirror, if both sides re free, then u can swerve to either side.
just as stated above, trying to avoid traps like that has caused several more fatal accidents than anticipated.

my two experiences i would share. sometime in 2003, i was returning from vgc via the lekki epe expressway. just before the chevron roundabout around 9pm i didnt sight the gallop on time at a speed of 120km/hr, i applied my brake softly and then passed over at high speed. thank God nothing happened but may if applied a forceful brake, something might have happened. only God knows.

The other happened same yr just by the MRS filling station along the owonronsoki expressway whilst going to ikeja. the guy in my front saw a pothole, decided to apply his brake all of a sudden and stopped completely. i had no choice than to hit him from behind and the commercial bus behind me also hit me. it was some how fatal but no casaulties.

lesson: applying brake isnt the solution

IslamRe: How Dare You Give Us Ultimatum! Saudi Deports Additional 612 Female Pilgrims by malignant1: 3:55pm On Sep 28, 2012
Rossikk: Sorry, this has NOTHING to do with the Nigerian Government, and EVERYTHING to do with YOU and others who think like YOU - ignorant, brainwashed people who think that God resides in the middle east and Europe, not in Africa. If your heads were not twisted like idiots into thinking like that, what would thousands of your men and women be doing in Saudi Arabia? And then when the people whom you travel to worship treat you like dogs you turn round and blame ''Nigerian government''. Nonsense.
FYI, I'm a proud atheist. I don't subscribe to any religion that instructs me to believe with faith. I believe with proof. But this article is not about people's belief system or the stup1dity of their religion. This article is about the impotency of Nigerian foreign policy. The actions of the Saudis showed that Nigeria cannot cow them, Nigeria cannot bend them to their will and caprices, Nigeria is unable to project their political might to the international arena.
Freedom of religion is a universal fundamental human right. Nigerians have the right to choose to worship local or foreign god. I think that you are the ignorant folk here for labelling someone's choice 'ignorant'. Not only were you ignorant, you are intolerant and arrogant by implying that your reasoning is superior to that of another person.
IslamRe: How Dare You Give Us Ultimatum! Saudi Deports Additional 612 Female Pilgrims by malignant1: 3:23pm On Sep 28, 2012
achi4u: See Nigeria given Saudi Arabia ultimatum. On which level nah?
Can u imagine? Lousy Nigerian government wey no fit stop them from beheading Naija citizens every week for one flimsy crime or the other. This shows that Nigerian government is impotent. Can Saudis do this to US citizens? undecided Nigerian government is only good in corruption and intimidation of Nigerians. Nigeria commands no respect of foreigners.
PoliticsRe: Iwuanyanwu Dismisses Possibility Of Igbo President In 2015 by malignant1: 1:11pm On Sep 28, 2012
Iwuanyanwu is a political jobber and Abuja contractor who supported the OBJ's third term bid, Ohakim's misrule, Abacha and Babangida's dictatorship. Such voice does not speak for the Igbos. He has the right to freely express his opinion. But I doubt if the plurarity of Igbos subscribe to his opinion. He only speaks for his minority Abuja elitist contract seekers.

HealthRe: A discussion on Bipolar Disorder by malignant1: 7:59am On Sep 11, 2012
casket: Gbam ! I think that's self explanatory enough.
Bipolar disorder belongs to group of psychiatric illness called mood disorder though is not common in Nigeria but it exists. Through-out my psychiatry posting in Med school, we used to see more of schizo, depression, substance abuse and puerperium psychosis.
You are in fact right! Bipolar disorder is not common in Nigeria. 80% of psychiatric disorders in Nigeria is schizophrenia. Other 15 - 18% are depression, substance abuse, peerperium psychosis. The remaining 2 - 5% are textbook cases like bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, dissociative disorders. Even those textbook cases are often lost to wrong diagnosis.

One of the way to make the diagnosis of bipolar disorder is when mania or hypomania was precipitated after antidepressant drug therapy.

Only yesterday in the medical advice thread, someone perfectly described a history that resembles panic disorder. A wrong diagnosis was made by the physician and he unfortunately placed him on the therapy for angina pectoris, then later left ventricular failure. But there is no history of dyspnoea, orthopnoea or PND. Ofcourse, his symptoms could not subside and he rushed to the health advice thread after he was unable to observe any noticeable improvement. I was amazed! I never knew that I can ever meet someone having a panic disorder. I advised him to meet a psychiatrist immediately.

The point that I'm trying to make is that some of those textbook cases do occur in Nigeria. But they are lost to wrong diagnosis because our doctors are not properly trained to identify them.
