HOW S.U.G PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE SHUTDOWN UNILORIN-7th may 2013 It was a clash of the titans,and a keenly contested presidential debate, as the student union aspirants, lawal ahmed abiodun alias"AMBASSADOR" of the department of biology education and Balogun toluwase stephen alias "TENT" from the faculty of Agriculture, both exchanged grammatical misiles inother to woe and persuade students to vote them in the thursday 9th of may student union election. The event dubbed"7th sense presidential debate" was held in the university auditorium. In attendance are; Dr. Efe aremu-the head of department of political science, Dr. Azeez-the staff advicer to the presidential debate,Dr. Mrs. Aisha suleiman from the department of french, comrade Abdulmalik Aremu alias "ATTENTION" the out going student union president and students from virtualy all faculties of the university, as the auditorium was occupied to capacity amongst other dignitries. After the opeaning prayer and recognition of special guests, the anchor to the event, comrade paul Akingbola a 400 level student from the department of french and a member of junior chambers international(jci). who was dressed in a white caftan, invited the chairman of the presidential debate, Abdulraman jogbo jogbo a 300level civil engineering student to kick start the debate. The duo, of AMBASSADOR and TENT, both dressed in suits, were given seats on the stage of the auditorium facing their audience, and the debate started proper. The former, lawal Ahmed, alias ambassador who disclosed that courage, passion, motivation, hope and encouragement were his driving force, highlighted areas such as provision of hostel facilities, transportation, solving the problem of overcrowded lecture rooms/ halls and defined an effective union as one filled with life, credibility, and dynamism.He added that he would like to be remembered for solving the problem of hostels availability and transportation. While the latter Balogun toluwase stephen alias tent, highlighted areas such as transportation, solving the problem of mass failure of students in exams and establishing a water production factory for the union, to help solve the problem of water unavailability on campus.He also noted that the price of satchet water porpularly called "pure water", needed to be subsidized from the current price of #10 to#5. And that he would use the facility to help train students studying microbiology and other related courses . He argued that the facility,could also help to employ students during holiday. The highpoint of the event was when the duo of Ambassador and tent was asked to sing the unilorin anthem which they sung excellently and also impressively. Speaking at the event, Dr. Azeez-the staff advicer to the debate, likened the parformance of the duo of ambassador and tent to that of the united states of America's presidential election debate between Barack obama and Mitt romney. He also commended the participants for puting in their best. In an exclusive interview with a cross section of students that attended the debate,Adekunle samson a 200level chemistry student said the debate was impressive, Abiola kehinde the out going social secretary of the student union, opined that he was sertisfied with the performance of the contestants. But a 500level student adekunle abimbola of the faculty of law said Ambassador's performance at the debate impressed him.while Awoyemi dolapo 300level law student said Tent's water production idea was a welcome development.But some other persons had divergent views. Aliagwe victor 300level geography and Ben 400level from faculty of science said the aspirants did not impress them. Only time will tell who amongst the contestants will be the occupant of the kaduna Nzeogu student union secretariat as the votes have not been casted.

Good day nairalanders, i am an undergraduate of a federal university in nigeria and i am studying geography education and i have interest in politics, and would like to pursue a political career latter in life. My question is what job would be suitable for some one like me who would like to get a job after graduation so that i would have esperience and have an edge over other politicians ?i mean a kind of job that will earn me a good reputation, status, honor, make my name a house hold name and give me a better exposure and a hard earn reputation. I am currently comtemplating working for the military, police, paramilitary, the federal civil service, working for the united nations or becoming a lecturer. I have decided to take elective courses in polical science department throughout my stay in school, and i am from the southeast. Pls honest contribution are welcome!

No u are not the only one that jambsite is telling no admissioned offered yet. I am also a victim, i was offered geography education by unilorin. Although i applied unilorin as my second choice my first choice which is A.B.U zaria is yet to release their admission list.
