maybe you should just confess you're still learning English! i never said GOW2 is not a great game. i said IT WOULD HAVE BEEN PERFECT IF NOT FOR THE QUANTITY OF PUZZLES AND THE SIMILARITY OF THEM.for me to say the puzzles are the only flaw in the game means i definitely agree the game is great.or do i have to use those exact words before u understand?

No need to explain yourself not all adventure players like puzzle in games. As for me I live for puzzle solving it makes me feel smart.
Hey has anybody heard about the world cyber games competition for Nigeria, this is what I have lived for unfortunately there isn't any adventure games just rpg,soccer and racing(thats what I will be playing) but with thief 3: deadly shadows distracting me I starting to doubt if I have a chance of winning the competition.

think this problem has a simple solution. The one I will provide will solve for n length of string(replace n with 5 or whatever u like)

0. Start
1. Get d length of the String, n
2. raise 10 to the power of n, power
3. convert string to Integer, num
4. while num > 0
divide num by power, adigit
print adigit
print a single space
let num => remainder of the above division ///i.e num = num % power
let power = power/10 ///i.e divide power by 10, the shift operators may come in handy here if u want to use them, but the spec say only div and mod, we'll stick to that
5. Print "This solution was provided on NairaLand, sponsored by JAND http://www.naijadukes.net/"
6. Exit

Programming is not a problem, gaming is. At least you are not called childish,lazy or useless when you are a programmer. Thanks so much for your advice. The truth is the community is very new, and has just begun to grow. The site forum is so simple, and still has very few contributors. But to make it grow, we need support and contributions from Java Programmers/Developers. And remember the forum is just an easy way for members of the community to express themselves and not the MAIN focus.

We just want a community where nigerian java developers can share ideas, experiences, info, learn, etc.

How can I pick of digits form 5 Int numbers that are typed by the user with three spaces seperating them as in: 45489 to 4 5 4 8 9. Using only division and module operand. I will appreciate if you use peseudocode to answer my questions.

I don't quite get your question, but if am thinking what you are thinking? Then why would you want to get the seed values? That means u are thinking of reverse engineering. i.e Gettin the Seed Values from a given set of numbers so that u can now generate your own numbers then probably hack into something? Hope that's not what u mean? Anyway, the way random numbers are been generated its a little deeper than that, and I don't think u can get the seed value from randomly generated values. And secured systems do not use a fixed Random generated number and they still perform some other numeric manipulations to d nos. So forget that line of thinking.

Reverse engineering what the hell do I need that for(not saying is useless) if I want to add new features to stuffs I prefer creating then having full authority
over the features that will be installed. To tell the truth I just wanted to know and I was also reading an example for class Random in the examples that comes with the jdk when you install it and I came a across method getSeed() funny does developers at sun never seem to be a fan of good program readability.
And Yes I have checked out the jand(nice acronym) website and I must confess, please don't find this offence but if you want your community to grow you don't have to talk about how nice the community is(I KNOW THATS WHY TYPED THE URL) or how nice the concept of having a Java community in naija. As I said earlier I have seen the gameplay trailer and I still dont like it and for some reason the bad guy keeps calling out snake snake snake and that annoying and the stealth is all that still it doesnt look like a bad game neither is it a terrific game that can remain in our hearts like gow or zelda

I am not into games like metal gear(I have never being a fan) but when I saw the gameplay trailer I still dont like I dont know why everybody is so hyped up about to me its just a normal fps on a next generation console nothing more nothing less.

I cant tell you how many times I have punched my monitor please dont even get me started on internet connection whats all this rubbish I cant even login to my mail I have to wait for almost 2 hours to watch a 1 minute god of war 3 trailer and we all end up paying for nothing. How about education?! Develop and encourage software development patterned toward the development of our educational systems. You know, your mind has to be a little bit outside financially beneficial considerations if you really want to come up with something pretty creative. Yes its like you read my mind just Imagine an application that teaches biology involving the use of a drag and drop system were you can arrange the parts of a human being. Doing this regularly will help the student remeber we can like make the application look like a game making it exciting and fun doing this will greatly help the student

Its coming out on Nintendo ds. Unfortunately for me I don't have a Ps3 neither do I have an xbox360 or wii I only have a psp with god of war umd which I think I have probably created a record of beating the game 10 times(don't blame me I am so bored). Hey has any body seen the new god of war 3 trailer I watch that trailer more times than I have seen myself naked. Reason why I am getting a ps3 even if I have to sacrifice someone for it.

Actually, math does play a significant role in programming. Specifically, Discrete Mathematics, and also algebra and calculus to some extent. Yes, the ability to be able to think logically is the most important, however very good math skills will make solving programming problems come natural. If you hate math you very likely will NOT like programming. Statistics have continuously shown that those that like programming and are very successful at it, are very good in math. In US colleges/University, most computer science and Math departments are usually together.

Hey thats not true I am terrible(When I mean terrible I mean terrible) in math but good in programming I might not be able to develop a one of a kind application still I am doing ok though I am brushing my skills in math because I am going into graphics programming soon.

Maths has absolutely nothing to do with programming skills its more of your reasoning power and ability to think out of the box and apply logic my friend dropped out of maths class but is a genius when it comes to Java.Maths can be abstract at times

We should focus our attention on solution not problems. But really how hard is it to change the current syllabus.
