Am back with my testimony. In the spirit of giving back....Got to the airport on time on Sunday 12th June, after checking in, went to travellex desk, they said no dollar tho they put up for 340/$. Had to change 1000 dollars from another BDC @ 365/$ to add to the 8k plus we had as we couldn't get PTA after applying at Stanbic and Wema for over 2weeks.. I flew Air France at 33weeks+ with my mum, no fit to fly was asked, nothing abt pregnancy sef guess cos bump wasn't really showing. Flight to Paris was very smooth, slept all thru. Had a layover at Paris for 3hr 55mins instead of 2hrs. Paris to New York was kinda long and tiring was praying all thru for favor. Food was rubbish. Landed at Jfk and the following happened. We were directed to the self kiosk to scan (not a first timer to the US tho but first timer to JFK) na so my passport abi visa page no scan o, it was tried severally and on different systems, for where... My mum tried hers, it did one time. My mum was becoming scared and said maybe it cos of d notification of intent I sent to d embassy, I couldn't even laugh as I was worried, put back on the queue, was still praying, mum was reciting psalm 24 in Yoruba and saying Oluwa gbakoso repeatedly. Hello NL family, am a newbie as well as I have read several pages of this thread and I v learnt a lot. A big shout out to everyone for taking their time to share their experiences; u guys rock. Here goes my story: * Am a first time mom to be * July mom Houston bound as that's where I v got family. We intend travelling in June. (tho I v plan B as regards accommodation as I do not want any stories dt touch) * will be travelling with my mum * Got my B1/B2 visa late 2014 together with my family for vacation(dad, mum, & siblings) as I was still single. Visa was used May 2015 for the purpose and got married late 2015. * as advised by aunty in the US and also as I v read on this great thread, I v sent a notification of intent to the embassy & got the generic response. * aunty recommended two doctors who r very popular on this thread & I v also contacted both and others. I v got their price quotes and correspondence. * now ticket hunting.... Sorry for my long post. Pls feel free to let me know if I v left anything undone. Thanks all & Happy Easter. 1 Like |
