happytbaby: To book tickets I always check options from Kayak.com to ensure I get the shortest layover for emirates. I've never done anything longer than 3 hours on emirates. Once you find the best option they'll redirect you to the Emirates site to book. 1 Like 1 Share |

shithapuns: Emirates is 2 bags @ 23kg each for economy class flights to and from north america, 32kg all classes for flights to and from south america. 1 bag @ 23kg for baby, plus free check in for car seat and stroller. Carry on bag not more than 7 or 8kg, plus baby bag, you can carry your laptop bag if u can handle all, if you are luck, they would offer to check in your hand luggage for free, but i advice u carry it along on your return leg to put your change of clothes and the babys. For dubai connect, if at the time you booked your ticket, the 14hrs transit time was the best/shortest available transit time, then emirates will provide you with a visa and hotel accommodation, which comes along with free food also. Yes theres free wifi at dubai airport and also on the airplane thou that depends on what type of airbus emirats provide for the lagos-dubai route, its always available for dubai - houston route 5 Likes 2 Shares |

As a special courtesy to our passengers, in certain cases where an itinerary calls for a longer stopover in Dubai, Emirates will provide accommodation, meals, ground transportation and visa costs. This service is available to: First Class and Business Class passengers for whom the best connection time is not available and they get a transit of more than six hours and less than 24 hours upon arrival in Dubai. (Further conditions apply*) Economy Class passengers for whom the best connection time is not available and they get a transit of more than eight hours and less than 24 hours upon arrival in Dubai. (Further conditions apply*) *Further Conditions: Dubai Connect may also be offered in other cases. Other rules may apply, depending on the date that the flights were booked, fare paid and flight selected from the point of origin and the first available flight from the point of transit. Dubai Connect must be pre-booked and Emirates is only able to accept bookings at least 24 hours prior to departure of inbound flight to Dubai at the latest. This service is subject to availability. How to book Dubai Connect If you book your flights on emirates.com, you will be notified during the booking process if your itinerary/fare qualifies. After you have completed your online booking, you can book the Dubai Connect service online, by logging on to ‘Manage a Booking’. Please note that better flight connections may be shown, meaning that long stopover expenses may not be covered if flights with the best available connection time are not selected. If you book your flights through a local Emirates office, please check if your itinerary/fare qualifies for an Emirates agent to book the Dubai Connect service for you. If you have booked your flights through a travel agent, please instruct your agent to book this service on your behalf, provided your itinerary/fare qualifies. This service is only available for passengers aged 18 years or older, and is only provided in Dubai. Passengers under the age of 18 can use this service if they are travelling with another passenger who is over 18 years. The itinerary must be on a single booking (i.e. on one ticket) 1 Like |

shithapuns: Emirates is a world class airline. Arguably one of the best 3 right now. Quote me anywhere. They are especially caring to pregnant women and nursing mothers, always ensuring you remain hydrated and relaxed. Evn alcohol de flow freely for the strong hearted. I have always flown them and had the best time. Yes d trip is long but until recently thy had an 8pm flight leavin Nigeria daily. And this meant maximum 1hr connectin time between Dubai and Usa on d goin leg and then they give u dubai connect for any return leg longer than 8hrs. However now that thy only hav a 2pm flight leavn Naija... dat 7hrs is a long wait o!!! Evn tho d airport is big and full of places n things, am not sure how u'd spend 7hours. My take: if it meets ur pocket and u cn find smth to do for 7hrs...EMIRATES IS A GUD DEAL. Thy allow carryon of 7kg plus laptop bag and evn a diaper bag for the baby...if u wan carry ur handbag join sef na ur business... ![]() 5 Likes |

I posted this earlier but I just realised that it was deleted... I'm not sure why, but i'd just share it again cos it might help someone. I had my baby via VD in HNMC Houston in January. Hospital cost 2000 CS is 3500 Doctors cost 1700 CS 1850 Lab was 154 but I paid $72 got 50% discount Pediatrician 1133 but paid $794 got 30% discount I didn't use Epidural but it's $650 for VD and $750 for CS Also United allowed us carry two 23kg bags for the baby. I insisted since that's what's stated on the website (I saved the page on my phone, but they didn't ask to see it) and told them that I had called customer service to confirm 13 Likes 1 Share |
