CrimeRe: Why We Killed 17-Year-Old Jambite After #₦200,000 Ransom - Suspects by mamawin(f): 8:27am On May 05
samuelson06:
True. We were very young then but the memory has been with us since then. Nigeria needs to start public execution again to keep criminals reminded that they may be next.
That was perhaps the one and only beauty of Military rule, until they came and started using it to witch hunt their supposed enemies...

CrimeRe: Why We Killed 17-Year-Old Jambite After #₦200,000 Ransom - Suspects by mamawin(f): 10:02am On May 02
samuelson06:
The major problem is that I've never ever heard of the government or court announcing a public execution day. The government should be doing this from time to time to deter would-be killers from committing this sort of atrocity.
This is a good point. Execute criminals publicly, let everybody see. Although, it won't stop crimes totally. In the eighties, it was like that, drug pushers, armed robbers were publicly excuted at Eleyele in Ibadan. We were young but we got the lesson.
Forum GamesRe: Viral Blue Vs Red Button Question Is Dividing The Internet. What Will You Choose by mamawin(f): 9:12am On May 01
timidapsin:
There’s a question trending online right now, and at first glance it looks simple… but the more you think about it, the more uncomfortable it gets.

Imagine this:

Blue Button:
If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives..

Red Button:
If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive.

Which will you pick?
On many occassions, red signifies danger, caution, warning. So, at the first thought, your mind tells you press BLUE. But of course, if yours is an inquisitive mind, or you are adventorous, you may want to click red.

BlackfireX:
How are you today?
My question is very simple and I am asking from you to tell me out of the countless good thing about Islam to name just one... habibi this should be the most easiest for you to do

Don't you think?

So let me ask again, please stay focus...name one good spectacular thing about Islam? Just one?

Please don't be confused stay focus
I guess you missed the last line 'That Peace (of mind and soul) is one thing that's most spectacular and wonderful!'
IslamRe: Rights Of Children In Islam! by mamawin(f): 6:42pm On Apr 14
BlackfireX:
Can you tell me 1 good thing about Islam that is so spectacular and wonderful?

Please just 1 not 2 or 3

Just 1
It is hard to pick one good thing about Islam, when they are countless. I do not know if you are a muslim or not. If you aren't, try and forget everything you've heard or read in the western media, your muslim neighbours or all acquaintances of yours; then read about Islam yourself; albeit with an open mind. You will discover that Islam means peace. That Peace (of mind and soul) is one thing that's most spectacular and wonderful!

Hadith (Narrated by ‘Abd-Allah ibn ‘Umar):
"Each of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The ruler who is in charge of people is a shepherd and is responsible for them. The man is the shepherd of his household and is responsible for them. The woman is the shepherd of her husband’s house and child and is responsible for them. The slave is the shepherd of his master’s wealth and is responsible for it. Each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock." — Narrated by al-Bukhari, 2416; Muslim, 1829

Islam recognizes that children have significant rights over their parents, just as parents have rights over their children. This mutual responsibility is emphasized in both the Qur’an and authentic Prophetic traditions (hadith).

1. Foundational Principle: Mutual Rights Between Parents and Children
*Qur’anic Basis: Allah calls the righteous (abrar) those who honor their parents and children.
*Prophetic Teaching: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) explicitly stated that children have rights over their parents, highlighting the importance of fulfilling these rights.

2. Rights of Children Before Birth
Choosing a Righteous Mother

Parents, especially fathers, have the responsibility to choose a righteous and religiously committed wife to ensure a good upbringing for the child.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) advised marrying for religious commitment over wealth, lineage, or beauty.
Compatibility and good lineage are recommended to promote harmony and avoid negative traits being passed on.
3. Rights of Children After Birth
a) Tahnik (Softening the Child’s Mouth)

It is Sunnah (recommended) to perform tahnik by placing softened dates in the newborn’s mouth.
This practice was done by the Prophet (peace be upon him) himself and is considered a blessing.
b) Naming the Child

Giving a good and meaningful name is important.
Names like ‘Abd-Allah and ‘Abd al-Rahman are beloved to Allah.
Naming on the seventh day is Sunnah, but naming on the day of birth is also permissible.
Naming after Prophets is encouraged.
c) Shaving the Head and Charity

On the seventh day, it is Sunnah to shave the child’s head.
The weight of the hair in silver should be given as charity.
This act symbolizes purification and gratitude.
d) ‘Aqiqah (Sacrificial Offering)

The father is encouraged to perform ‘aqiqah by sacrificing animals.
Two sheep for a boy, one for a girl.
This is a form of gratitude and celebration of the child’s birth.
e) Circumcision

Circumcision is part of the natural fitrah (innate disposition) and is recommended for cleanliness and religious reasons.
It is one of the five practices that fit within the natural state of a Muslim.
4. Rights Regarding Education and Upbringing
a) Teaching Islam and Good Morals

Parents are shepherds responsible for their children’s guidance.
They must teach children Islamic creed (aqidah), acts of worship (especially prayer), and good manners.
Education should be gradual, starting with the most important religious duties.
b) Teaching Prayer and Discipline

Children should be taught to pray by age seven.
Light discipline (smacking) is permitted if they neglect prayer by age ten.
This emphasizes the importance of early religious education.
c) Fasting and Other Religious Practices

Children are gradually introduced to fasting, as exemplified by the Prophet’s community.
Toys or distractions were used to help children fast without distress.
d) Training in Good Manners and Characteristics

Parents must instill good behavior towards Allah, the Prophet, the Quran, the Muslim community, neighbors, and friends.
Proper social conduct and respect for others’ rights are essential parts of upbringing.
Islam places great emphasis on the rights of children, starting even before birth and continuing through their upbringing. These rights encompass physical care, spiritual education, moral training, and social development. Parents are entrusted with the sacred responsibility to nurture their children in a balanced way that fulfills both their worldly and spiritual needs, ensuring they grow into righteous and responsible individuals. May Allah bless our children and make them a source of solace for us in this world and in the next! Aamin.

Lovelink1991:
Mothers are more closer to the children than fathers. When the mother was taken the decision the father is out looking for daily bread for his family
That's where most of our problems originated from, fathers looking for daily bread and leaving other responsibilities for the mothers alone. Women work too, and won't because of that get home and neglect other things that needed their attention.
I agree that some women are weak, and that's more reason a man must not leave some decisions for the woman to make alone.
