This dude must be high on Vodka lipsrsealed

You are one of those people I respect a lot on nairaland but I'm surprised you are saying such a thing.

I want to ask you how you came to such a conclusion that this man must be high on vodka?

He is a French citizen and has told you what he saw he even confirm that he contacted the ministry of emergency of Slovakia and also the ministry of foreign affairs on his way out of Ukraine and this can be easily investigated by the French authorities, they just need to call those places he passed through on his way out of Ukraine especially the ministry of foreign affairs of Slovakia he said he contacted to actually know if this man was in Ukraine to begin with.

This ship is 72m long, Damen the builder has been building naval ships for the past 120 years.

The approach of the Naval Dockyard Limited in building vessels for the Navy is exemplary. We are building more classes of ships as SDB 3 in other to horn our ship building skills. Once SDB 4 and 5 are built and delivered, we can now look at larger vessels of 60 meters and above.

I don't think this ship's are 72m it looks so small kabe1

Please what's the length of our two new OPVs from Turkey

well it looks like an oerlikon 30mm to me.... Also read somewhere that Nns kada will be armed with 1x30mm and 2x 12.7mm

So if you are a ship builder you will fit in a 30mm gun to head such a ship, that's a naval cannon gun

Is that a 76mm naval gun or 57mm, it's not clear to me.

To be fair the invasion of Ukraine wasn’t an if but a when and the Ukrainians new that. Of course there going to seek out protection in NATO.

So your saying the Ukrainians should just stand down and let Russia take there country despite the fact there putting up a defense that far surpassed everyone’s expectations? They should give up for the sake of US politics? They’ve succeeded in scaring Western Europe into boosting there militaries, cooperation, and breaking free of Russian Gas.

I’m not even Pro-Ukrainian, Russian, or Western and I can easily understand everyone’s logic.

If all the islamist groups and countries that support them in the world teamed up and decided to all cross the Sahara with there vast American and Russian arsenals to take Nigeria would you want the leadership to just accept the inevitable demise of the nation state? grin

You talk like a child

Those countries sending arms to Ukraine are currently in peace time with good economic growth while Ukraine is being bombed every minute

And who told you that Europe is free from Russia's oil and gas please don't come here to say what you don't know

I for one will prefer the fighting between Russia and Ukraine go on for at least 10 years.

This will give Nigerian the opportunity to complete Train 7, AKK gas pipeline and all the other refinery projects with high yield prospects.

We also get to see excellent combat footage as 2 extremely racist countries engage in battle.

What's really not to like.

But no one is stopping Nigeria from doing any of those things you mentioned

I’m pretty sure we’ve all heard the major rumors going around that Belarus arguably Russia’s most loyal “Ally" and Europe”s “last dictatorship” has reportedly showed interest or already made a deal to purchase armored vehicles from the Private Nigerian company ProForce.

My question is if this is true do you think this will effect Nigeria’s relations with the anti-Russian western world considering the Russia’s war with Ukraine and Belarus”s support of it? Can Nigeria expect sanctions in the future?

If this really is the case I find it funny that Nigeria is still freely purchasing arms from the US and the European Union is now in negotiations with Nigeria to become Europe’s primary replacement for dependency on Russian gas after the Arabs rejected them; despite Nigeria supposedly selling arms to an enemy nation.

https://amp.france24.com/en/tv-shows/eye-on-africa/20220412-eu-turns-to-nigeria-as-an-alternative-to-dependency-on-russian-oil-and-gas

The term Enemy, what way do you define the word Enemy either as an individual or as a nation. Geo politics is changing right in front of the US just take India for example a decade ago the US will not be fighting for India's support asking her not to buy oil from Russia and you can see India still buying crude oil from Russia and the US says it's not going to affect sanctions imposed on Russia.

In this situation both the US and Russia needs India on their sides. So the US is very careful not to sanction India knowing fully well she needs India's support to contain China in Asia.

We wanted to buy AH-1z attack helicopters for sometime now but the US did not allow the say, recently the US Senate block the sales of the helicopters but all of a sudden the human rights consigns have all disappeared. And now they are selling the AH-1Z to Nigeria.

In Africa there are but few that can match the influence of Nigeria and the US just realized that in the process of a military conflict and a economic war with Russia, buying more helicopters from Russia will make Nigeria more dependent on Russia for supplies to support it's military equipments so there for it's time to step in and fill that voide so as to get Nigeria's support in the international level.

Belarus is the only European country that See's Nigeria as a legitimate partner before the war in Ukraine Nigeria has been managing a Belarusian satellite making Nigeria the only Africa nation to do so. There will be no sanctions on Nigeria if she sells weapons to Belarus.

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/12/nigeria-wins-bid-to-manage-belaruss-satellite-for-15-years/

https://punchng.com/nigcomsat-belarus-sign-satellite-backup-deal/

The EU knows better, sanctions against Nigeria at this critical time when you are in dieing need of her oil and gas is a misplaced action.

THE WORLD'S GEO POLITICS IS REALLY CHANGING BEFORE OUR OWN EYES

Dude, its a start-a good one! If your formations adequately adapt to the new equipment expect good results. Eg,the choppers should be in army aviation for quicker response: in actual combat its difficult to get real time CAS if the gunships are with the AF. The FG must be upping their game and imo more AFVs and armed drones are inbound.

Yes, you are right the army need it's own gunships so as to have quick operational response and the presidency has just announced the largest single armoured vehicles purchase in the history of Nigeria. So let's keep our fingers crossed and see what happens next

The troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), have eliminated top Leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Ammar Bin-Umar, in the West African Lake Chad during massive air strikes, Zagazola learnt.

The coordinated airstrikes was carried out by the Nigerian Air Force Super Tucano in coordination with the Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Niger Air Task Force's Mi35 and Mi171 helicopter Gunship on April 14, 2022 in Arinna in Marte Local Government of Borno state.

An Intelligence Officer, told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert that Bin-Umar was killed in an attempt to fled the LakeChad, following long-week sustained ongoing battlefield regional COIN combined Operation between troops of DESERT SANITY and the MNJTF LAKE SANITY in identified Boko Haram/ ISWAP strongholds, which resulted to the elimination of over 100 terrorist including ten Commanders.

The Intelligence led surgical strikes in Kwalaram, Sabon Tumbun and Jibularam has forced the terror groups to relocate and seek refuse in new hiding positions in Kwalori, Doron Kirta, Buningyil and Lokon Libi areas within the LakeChad.

The surviving ISIS Mujahedeens were immediately evacuated to KIRTA around 1800hourz, then afterwards conveyed on two flying boats with sacks containing money suspected to be funding for the ISWAP, in an attempt to escape through the axis of Chikka and Mardas, both within the Cameroonians border towns.

In the leaked exchange in the terrorists camps, they disclosed that women and children had been forcefully relocated to a safe hideout, to prevent them from the attacks, while Mujahedeens have been directed to take defensive Positions to defend the Daula.

This past few weeks the MNJTF is now active and are carrying out meaningful clearance operations, I used to believe that the MNJTF is useless. Good job

Fed Govt Nig paid for NAF 12 Tucano, 12 Hind E, 12 Master, now 12 Viper:

Cash sum $3.5 billion for all those 48 light aircraft is too much. Instead, just 12 Tucanos, 12 Hinds are enough to add to our many other air fleets, numbers okay for a low-intensity land war.

Obsolete Nigerian Army is very dry having only 6 modern tanks, no infantry ATGM, almost no IFV, in a land war! Ahhh !

Coming new 12 Viper attack helicopters $1 billion can buy for sick dry NA new 800 armoured vehicles-drone carriers with 8,000 Drones mini loiter-munition guided missile-bomb armed UCAVs game changer modern multi-role MRAP APC ICV APV UCAV AFV ISR IFV equipped RCWS 20mm Automat cannons firepower, round the clock 24/7 long range vision day/night eyes on our lands, mixture of both tracked and wheeled troop carriers - defence patrol - attack vehicles.

So you think Russia can prevent NATO from deploying nuclear weapons at its border by invading Ukraine? While US/UK/France can simply fire a ICBM from anywhere else?

Russia demanded security guarantees, these included:

> Ukraine should never join NATO,
> the withdrawal of all NATO troops from the Eastern European NATO accession states
> an end to all military NATO activities there,
> a contractual renunciation of any further NATO membership and an end “nuclear sharing” > (the stationing of US short- and medium-range nuclear missiles in Western Europe)

Russia offered:

> nothing

The demands were non-negotiable and were therefore not negotiated. A few weeks later, Russia invaded Ukraine. Since then, Moscow has been covering the neighboring country with the cruelest war crimes in the name of "demilitarization" and putting into practice a genocidal rhetoric of extermination preached in the name of "denazification". The only reason that Putin didn't want Ukraine in NATO is because he wanted to invade Ukraine. It has nothing to do with Russia's security interests.

For Putin countries like Ukraine or Poland are either non-existent or just puppets of the United States. The Ukrainian territory would be only the first step in his long term strategy to establish a greater Russia. It is no coincidence that Putin has demanded complete withdrawal of NATO troops from the countries of the former Warsaw Pact. Putin also believes that right now he has a certain military advantage over the US in hypersonic weapons. He has repeatedly said that this advantage will not last too long, for Americans would soon catch up. It means he has to capitalise on it now.

Russia propaganda is pushing the narrative that the West to be fundamentally weak, corrupt, and cowardly. And i thnk at some point the Kremlin believed their own propaganda to be true. It looks like a miscalculation because as a result, everything Russia allegedly wanted to stop with its list of demands will be realized now:

> neutral Sweden & Finland to join NATO in June, this is extending the RU - NATO borders by 1,340km
> The NATO military presence in Eastern Europe is being expanded
> Ukraine army is being supported by the west
> an increase in the US nuclear presence is under discussion
> EU and Kyiv are talking about EU accession of Ukraine

Still you can argue the Idea was right but execution was poor - but geostrategically, Russia has already lost more than it can gain, however this war turns out.

If you really learned your lessons from history then you realize that Russian or Chinese imperialism is not some sort of alternative imperialism, as some might naively think, it is the same.

So there are still men like you who supports the US despite what the US has done. Now you said Russia has carried out cruelest war crime in Ukraine but some times I wonder where were men like you when the US invaded irag even when the UN past a resolution not to. I still ask myself where were men like you when the Palestinian people were being bombed in their own country and their land being occupied for more than sixty years

Many countries has seen the ugly face of NATO, how I wish you go to Libya today and mention the name NATO I promise you your live will change for good after that moment.

Syria, Libya, Sudan, Yemen, Irag, Palestine, Afghanistan, etc. when war crimes were being committed in the Middle East were you not in existence?

In reality NATO was never a geo-political threat to Russia. East European countries maintain small armies and do not have/host nuclear weapons. NATO only started to deploy troops to its eastern border after Russia invaded Crimea 2014. Russia always wanted to invade Ukraine to maintain their ideology of a greater Russia, this is sadly a proven fact now. That is the very reason why Russia never wanted that UKR to join NATO.

Please stop talking like a child

If there are no nuks deployed in NATO Eastern states today tell me what will Russia do if NATO starts deploying nuks in Eastern Europe tommorow, there are no laws stopping NATO from deploying nuks in its Eastern member States. The only way out for Russia is to prevent or stop such military organization from coming to it's doorstep, if the US finds it self in the same situation as Russia the US would have taken more drastic measures.

NOW I Will PROVE THAT THE US WOULD HAVE DONE WORST.

THE CUBA MISSILE CRISIS 1962
Take a look at what the US did to Cuba when missiles were deployed in the country by the Soviet Union it's a perfect example of how powerful nation's view their national security interests.

In 2021 China wants to have a naval Base in the Atlantic ocean and equatorial guinea wanted to host the base, the US immediately sent a high level delegation to equatorial guinea to discuss the threats the naval Base will pose to it's national security since then the deal for the Naval Base has been put to a hold.
Don't forget that the shores of equatorial guinea and the shores of the US are thousands of miles apart but still the US still feels threatened by this base.

It will be wrong to call Russians military confrontation with Ukraine unprovoked when days before the war US vice president was in Ukraine saying that the US welcomes Ukraine with open hands in to NATO, just imagine what it means for Russia's national security.

So if the US is allowed to pursue it's security interests even in an African country which is thousands of miles away from its borders then why would almighty Russia not pursue it's own security interests with it's own neighbor which he shares it's largest border with.

America wants to surround Russia with military bases and this is what Russia is trying to avoid.
